This is not a case of being addicted to gambling. There are people who are actually in control of their gambling habits or addiction. For instance, they do not gamble beyond their budget; they commit an hour or two to gambling per week or twice per week and strictly adhere to it, among all other things. We have heard and read stories here and out there about how gambling ruins lives, careers, relationships, throws people into debt and more. But my question is, could this be happening to everybody? Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, and others? Has it improved your finances and helped you stay out of debt? Has it improved your mental health and well being in anyway? Has it been able to help you meet an urgent need? Let's discuss.

when we talk about responsible gamblers, we will find a gambler who has no problems at all in their real life because they are able to manage the gambling activities they have been doing so far, I really feel good benefits from the ability to manage emotions in gambling, I don't I will never gamble again until my capital runs out, I have avoided debt with all my might and I always set limits that I have to spend every day when gambling.

So far I don't have any problems with my gambling, because I always gamble only on weekends for a few dollars for fun.
Even if I want to play it, because weekends are my time with my wife and children, visiting my parents, hanging out with friends who sometimes don't have time to gamble. And other days I only have time to work and rest, and I have a big difference when I gamble compared to when I don't have a job and when I have a job.
And from all that I concluded and experienced and without stopping the habit of gambling, by having a job or activity that generates income, in this way I can gamble responsibly and work to earn the income that is my responsibility.
And I don't feel any loss either, and if I lose a few bucks, that's normal, because to enjoy the game and sometimes luck comes.
Unfortunately, not every gambler thinks this way about gambling, they don't consider gambling a tool that they can use only to get some entertainment and have some fun by spending just a small amount of money on it, because most of them take it too seriously, they don't do any job, and if they have a job, they eventually leave it just because they are not able to do their job properly and whatever they earn, they spend it all on their gambling activities.

People need to understand that gambling isn't a method that one can use to earn money constantly. It's not sustainable in the long run and even if someone manages to win for a few days, they will eventually have to face losses at the end and those losses can empty their whole bankroll in no time.
Each person might be having that the same impression on what gambling is but we know that each one of us would really be different on how we would really be treating it on which some say that it is really just that something for fun which its true or something that recommended but there would be those people who would be saying that or having that kind of treatment that it is really that something that talks about money making and this is where things turns out to be messy once you do have that kind of mindset on which this one would really be pushing you to be that desperate knowing that gambling is really that risky or something that
would really be at your great disadvantage knowing that house do always win at the end. This is why it would really be just that a normal approach or something that do talks about realistic dealing up with gambling
then it should really be for fun and entertainment on which it is really that recommended on doing so. Being responsible and being mindful on how things should really be that to deal with
is something that a good thing to be done. If you dont like on suffering afteraffects because of impulsive gambling then you should really be that responsible in the first place.

Its obvious that when you gamble responsibly you gain reputation in community. I think responsible gamblers will help to change prejudices against gambling. They know how to budget gamble. They never ever went full losing money. You would see no proper gambler getting drunk at casinos or yelling around. You wouldn't see proper gambler to behave bad to their own families. They are good role models.

Right but good gamblers are rarely as publicized as bad gamblers or addicted ones are, just think about it: on internet or even when talking to people it is pretty easy to find stories and testimony of people whose life were destroyed by their own gambling misbehavior.

When have we heard or read about someone who is successful as a parent or spouse regardless of their gambling hobby? There are many like those, but since they do not openly talk about it or do an scene in a casino (like getting drunk or getting completely naked) we won't see them on the news.

Sadly, when comes to gambling there is still a mountain of stigma associated to it, and hence the choice of many to keep their hobby a secret as long as they can.  It is so easy to see the negative side of this community.  Roll Eyes

To me in order to answer this question you have set onto the table it would take someone who has suffered from gambling addiction and recovered to step forward and share their experience with all of us .

I have not much to say because I have always tried to be as responsible with gamble as possible, so I cannot tell there is a difference, since I have kept myself within the safe zone all these years.

When I first joined an online casino, I checked their section on "responsible gambling" and self-exclusion, i was curious about learning more and thanks to it I managed to understand the importance of self exclusion and setting a gambling budget.

If there is someone here who considers themselves to be a person struggling with addiction, I sincerely hope you can get your life straight and get control back. 🙏🏼

I think at some point we all experienced negative impacts of gambling, especially when we're just starting and new to the gambling world. But of course, as time goes by we learn and gain experiences, and from these experiences and learnings we are able to develop a good gambling habit. Like in my case, I haven't had a budgeting until I experience my biggest lose.

Or better yet, just forgetting about gambling after suffering a major loss. Most people who lost a lot would still want to breakeven before leaving gambling behind, but that day never comes. People will gamble and gamble until they dig a deeper grave for themselves.

Of course, a good habit always results to a positive outcomes. Having a responsible gambling habit helped me to improve my budgets, and prevented me from being in debt. Also acquiring a healthy gambling habit helped me to just enjoy my plays and not stress too much about it. Because again, fun and entertainment has always been the sole purpose of casino.

If this is how you view gambling then yes, it's something positive for you. You get to entertain yourself and not get deposit after deposit chasing losses and trying to breakeven. As long as people are viewing gambling as a means to make money, they'll just bury themselves in a lot of losses and it's not something very desirable.

Personally there are no significant impacts from my responsible gambling, but yes I have my wife set my gambling budget every week so that I don't spend outside of that budget limit, so why be secretive and hiding, at least one of the people I trust needs to knowing that I am a gambler, at least dare to be honest with yourself and those closest to you because that will help us be more controlled.

So far what my wife knows is that I only play gambling for fun, so winning and getting money is only part of the bonus, I am a worker and only play on weekends so for the necessities of life I am more focused on providing for my wife and family by proceeds from my work, so do not expect from gambling money because it is not worth making gambling as a source of income. gambling wisely and responsibly is an important point to protect ourselves from addiction.  Wink
It is indeed difficult to continue to hide gambling habits from those closest to us, including our wives or anyone who knows us well. However, telling them about this habit (let alone asking them to limit your budget) is also not entirely good because a woman might bring up this problem when she doesn't get what she wants. As long as you are able to meet his and his family's needs, then there will be no problems, but on the contrary, this will be an absolute reason for them to attack you as long as you do not fulfill their needs.

I no longer gamble as much as before because I don't think it will end. Limiting my budget is what I have done before and so far my gambling intensity has dropped drastically. Of course this is to be expected during a bad economy, at least it has kept me from spending too much money on things that aren't profitable. Gambling for the fun of it is fine but but limiting the budget is the main thing.

Well, many people have benefited from gambling and many people have also lost from gambling. I also believe that those who have benefited from gambling have also lost enough money from gambling before their big wins. Some people who have benefits from gambling keep their gambling habits cool, while some, after their big wins, increase their stake and gamble irresponsibly because of the happiness of their big wins.

Anyways, I am not a regular customer in the gambling world, but in my own way of gambling, I can conclude that my gambling habits don't have any side effects on me.
The people who benefit from gambling are fewer than those who experience losses because many of them lose in various gambling games. But that doesn't stop them from realizing that gambling is not a place to make money. Some of their gambling habits influence the people around them, but some don't because there are gamblers who can control themselves well so that they don't have any influence on the people around them.

We can still gamble, but we have to have good self-control so that no problems will arise later. Usually, someone who plays gambling will start to feel addicted, and if he can't control it, the addiction will get bigger and later become a gambling addiction. And it will affect the people around him.

Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships with your spouse, kids, parents, and others? Has it improved your finances and helped you stay out of debt? Has it improved your mental health and well being in anyway? Has it been able to help you meet an urgent need? Let's discuss.
Yes. I let close people know about my gambling routine, so they know when I'm gambling, how much I'm spending and how much I'm earning. I also let them know about my losses and I think it helps me to keep my responsible behavior regards gambling. Sometimes I joke with them telling I'm going to chase losses to recover everything I've already lost by placing a huge single shot bet with maximum winning probability and low odds, and they immediately discourage me doing this. I believe that helps me not going further, even know it is just a joke...

When you keep things only for yourself I believe it's much harder to control impulses and desires, so better to share them with trusted people around. It's like you get rid of those energies which keep pushing you to the wrong way.

Become a responsible gambler make you avoid every problem that is faced by a gambling addict, as you know everything needs money. When your wife asking a monthly money to buy groceries and for self care, if you not have money, she will angry and might cheating on you. Then either you or her ask for divorce and your life already ruined, you don't have money, don't have wife and have nothing to care.

I have little worry now than those times when I had no control over my gambling activity, I can sleep better I have a hard time sleeping because it is hard to shake out your losses and excitement when winning, It improves my finances and relationships, every gambler goes to a bad phase of their life this is when their addiction overwhelmed their personal lives but when you get it in full control there's a lot of improvement on everything, especially relationship and finances.

Gamblers should work on controlling their addiction if they want healthy relationships and finances, you cannot be addictive to gambling and have healthy relationships.

Of course when we gamble, the goal is to win and try to avoid losing. Financially, we should not risk a lot of money on gambling, because I think some of our money is also very important for everyday life, not just for gambling. We should just keep quiet if we lose when gambling and if we win we tell our family. Of course we gamble with our own money because if we are in debt it will make us uncomfortable because we are the ones responsible for paying it back.

Most of gambling addicts are childish, that's why they have a high ego and don't care with the others.

While responsible gambler is completely opposite with the gambling addict, they have wise mind, know what's bad and good, empathy, care with the others, and have a long term thinking. That's why a responsible gambler know how to act and communicate as a good people.

There are times when we can go too far and it can become an addiction and affect something. A responsible gambler must be able to control everything so that gambling does not affect his family. Gambling should be strictly a form of entertainment and no one should suffer the negative consequences of gambling. Responsible gamblers determine how much they can spend on their budget before gambling. Don't go into debt by gambling with an amount you can afford to give up if you lose. Winning at gambling involves luck but they can improve the financial performance of winnings without affecting mental health. It is good to maintain a good balance between gambling and other aspects of life.

The answer will be relative because we are talking about the impact on the people around us. Maybe someone has earned or been able to increase their finances because they can get a win from gambling so that the money can help them save more. Of course, the winnings we get can help to meet urgent needs because we can prepare the money to be saved for a while and only used if there is an urgent need. However, some people will use their winnings to increase the balance in their gambling accounts to win even more.

Of course, we don't need to go into debt just to play gambling and we can already have a budget for gambling so it doesn't interfere with finances in our family. In addition, we can meet our family's needs, including meeting urgent needs. We can get all that if we can control our gambling habits and become responsible gamblers.

Being a responsible gambler means you are disciplined. You can control your emotions, you can pause your greed, you can live with losses and still sleep well at night. So yes, it has a lot of effects.

It's not easy at first because there will always be that demon that tells you to gamble more and increase the profits even though you already doubled or tripled your balance. But if someone could stop at some point and withdraw it then that means he can control himself from greed and I think that's healthy for his own lifestyle as a parent or an individual.
I don't actually just play for 2 to 3 hours, I let the autobet run but I don't watch it the whole day. Just let it do the wager and wish it could get lucky at some point. Watching it will just add some stress. Just take the wagering bonus, rakeback, and others because it's really difficult to win against the house. Do something instead while letting it run by itself.
