I've been into gambling for a long, my major focus was on sports betting. From sports betting earned good, but I wasn't able to make the success continue. I lost out of greed, further my focus turned towards casinos where we get the instant results and doesn't want to wait as we wait on sports betting till a match gets over. By this time I was entirely new to it, and lost big. If someone have contacted me I could've stopped it for a while and lowered my loses.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. I texted him my experience, and suggested to stop it before things go out of his hands. He didn't responded, finally he lost everything. Have any of you got such experience.
Though your intention is good to stop him from further losses, he might misinterpret your words because we know if you're eager to win to chase back your losses you will bet anything that has left to recover it back. You're speaking base on your experience because you know the feeling of losing the money and if ever somoeone stop you it might not happen. But this is not the case for other gamblers especially if he is in the situation wherein he is prepared to win or lose all his money.

We actually can't simply change their minds and force them to listen to us. They are old enough (as I think) and they know how much is the risk in doing wagering but they'ed try to ignore us. They have their own mindset, what they believe is right and good for them. We also care ourself and not to blame at the end which is good if we set them free and learn from their mistakes sooner or later.

It is difficult to explain to older people because I already tried it with my cousin. He doesn't want to listen to me and still takes that risk while I could only watch and follow him from behind. I don't want to see him lose too much, so I always go with him wherever he goes because I want to make sure that he is not doing something terrible.

I believe I can help him by changing his mind not to take the risk and make him realize that wagering bigger money doesn't guarantee him to win. That will only about time to see all the money is gone.

But you have to be careful also. I noticed that a gambler who is losing much and is already on a desperate move to be willing to gamble everything that is left on him to try to recover his losses is becoming quick-tempered. A soft reminder from you might get a yelling response from him to leave him alone and mind your own business. I have seen how little children fetching their gambler dads, or wives asking their husbands to go home already, are shouted at because they are already losing big.

I did warn a friend about not to continue wagering to avoid losses but it's not that I stopped him because I know he will misunderstood it. Stopping a gambler not to continue betting is very hard because they might not see it on a bad light and instead you will only look like a bad person to them. Thus, it is better to give them a warning and if they won't listen then let them learn it the hard way.
It is impossible to stop strangers. They simply won’t listen to you. With friends it should be easier. But it is possible that they will not even listen to you. Because at this moment people do not give an account of their actions.

Stopping them while they are in the session, why should I? And we should stay away on that.

You are not really helping that person even your intention is good. Why not just wait until the result.

And besides, what if they are ready on what will happen and already accept what will be the result, we can't just enter the scene and say "STOP". Inside the gambling world, we should stay away at these gamblers so they are the focus on what they are doing. If you really care, talk to them instead later after the session.

First of all, stopping a person while they keep wagering is quite annoying, unnecessary, out of the boundry and you might ruin their enjoyment though your intention is good. I think we have limitations in interfering someone's decision and that should be included. If he lose, then it's his fault and it's his choice the let himself lose the game and that's okay as it's part of the game.

Interesting story and experience mate, anyway I play also gambling but honestly Imalso experience loses because loses is part in the gambling games.
I advise with you do not treat gambling as source of income for sure its cause become greedy and addicting just play gambling for entertainment and always bring money ready to lose.

You've done your part of being a concern to him but it's all his money and decision that will make him see the result at the end of the day. I've seen people posting their experiences here and many suggested stopping as well.

So far, I haven't seen someone personally who's into this kind of situation. But if situation permits, I'll give him/her also a warn and will also share possible things that might actually happen as consequences.

I never had such experience at all, maybe I am alone in playing dice game and in other gambling casino games. Well there was a time once, but he never bet huge amounts. Maybe he just wanted to try it and the moment he lost all his funds he quitted but not big time and without me telling him to, he just did all by himself. I guess I could say that not all gamblers are out of their mind when betting and still cares for what might have come. For now I am the only one playing within the family and circle of friends.

If he was playing dice, this process of gambling is very quick and in some seconds you can bet more than 10 bet. So if you were texting your experience during this moment, I guess he would almost lose everything. Maybe he didn't read chat? Some people don't care about chat but only on game. Also as far as I know it's not allowed in online casinos to ask players to stop gambling because they'll lose money and etc, in fact you ruin casino's business. None legal service/business will allow you to run their clients.
Also some people with a lot of money don't play with satoshies, they play with huge amount of money so maybe it was fun for him?
You are definitely right if we do talk about gamblers who do play dice game then giving out a word would be definitely be too late.Fast pace games does give out instant outcomes
which means it already too late for you to give a word on someone who you do care on.Also its none of our business if someone would like to spend out his money on playing games.
You don't have the right to convince for them to stop unless if that person is your closest friend then it might be considered but if not then we don't have the rights.

The addiction to the dice is played on psychologically mental things, it gives the addict the conclusion that he is doing nothing wrong but enjoying life.

You cannot stop someone from gambling on that basis. He stands for the belief that nothing goes wrong and there is no reason to stop it is the mental strength of man.
No matter how reasonable a person is, he will not be able to come to terms with the fact that what he does is bad, he will not be able to stop himself, let alone someone else.

There is no point stopping a gambler from playing because every wagering to him is an opportunity to hit it big and anyone who tried to stop them at the time is seen as a difficulty that needs to be removed and if you are not careful, it could lead to confrontation. For me, I have tried it in the past but all lead to a futile exercise so there is no point doing the same thing all over again and expect a different result.

Maybe it would be hard for the gamblers to stop especially when the situation is going bad in which the gambler is already losing a big amount of stakes, you cannot stop those gamblers that are eager to take back the funds or stakes that they lose about and because of the greediness to take back the funds that he losses, he losses also all of his belongings. Being a gambler like me is very hard especially if you are experience on a huge loss and you need that money for some purposes, it would be hard to stop it until you take back the money that you've lost. But your effort to stop the gambler in the dice game was much appreciated.
The pain of losing money does not heal easily. People do get hurt when they see their hard earned money going away and it is also natural to try recovering that. However, gamblers should understand that the reason behind their loss could not become the reason behind their win. They must play with limited amounts of money and take gambling as a game. Large bets should be avoided.
The purpose of gambling should be to have fun, and it's better if you use free money for betting, not from the results of your hard work, because when you lose you will be angry and your emotions will be more difficult to control it, and of course when that happens you will bet continuously.

OP, if you are talking about rendering this sort of help for free, then I doubt if it will be possible.
But for a payment, may people who call themselves professionals gamblers will collect certain fees for it.
I have seen someone who is perfect in sport gambling, because of how he is good with it, many people beg him for directions. He collected some fee for it but yet didn't show them the real deal or his secret. It happens.

I personally have never stopped them or tried to stop anyone from betting because I just don't want to be part of his emotions to gamble. Indeed, sometimes I give an input to the gambler to at least stop gambling for a while but in reality the gambler is difficult just to be given such input, so in the end I will no longer try to prevent them from gambling, because at least the gambler has his own control and knows when is the right time to stop even though in reality they will stop when they lose it all.

In my experience, I did it once I almost got into a fight, the guy told me it's his money and no one should care or bother to tell him what to do, or what not to do, and he's right if he wants to lose it all and just what to make the feel, win or lose then let him, it's none of our business, let him carry his business, whether he is your friend or not.

I have seen certain people often wagering especially when losing big but i dont poke them or get into their mindset and watch them get kicked in face at times. It gives me a good feeling of not wagering and also learn from their mistakes. I play with "live andlet live" attitude in personal life and even while on the betting table.
