I've been into gambling for a long, my major focus was on sports betting. From sports betting earned good, but I wasn't able to make the success continue. I lost out of greed, further my focus turned towards casinos where we get the instant results and doesn't want to wait as we wait on sports betting till a match gets over. By this time I was entirely new to it, and lost big. If someone have contacted me I could've stopped it for a while and lowered my loses.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. I texted him my experience, and suggested to stop it before things go out of his hands. He didn't responded, finally he lost everything. Have any of you got such experience?
Well i have an experience wherein my friend which happen to be addicted in gambling and as we notice he can't stop in playing because he's reason is that he believes that he can recover it's lost and get more money but it's the opposite he just ruined his own life and suddenly drops in school because of financial problem, we tried to stop him, but when a person gets too addicted whether who attempted to stop him he still not stop and the result is fatal.

It's practically impossible to convince somebody to stop while they're mid-way through losing their entire stack.

You stand a much better chance telling somebody to quit while they're ahead, rather than stop before you get completely rekt.

Personally, I just let them get on with it. If they've got the money to lose, let them play.
I strongly agree with this comment. It's complicated (and risky) to stop them. I think the correct move is not to lend them any money if they ask.
If somewhat you can stop them in a losing streak, and they see that the next bet is a win, then you'll receive the blame.

It's similar to trading. It doesn't matter whether your advice is good or bad, if they win, you'll get nothing, but if they lose, you'll get all the blame.
For me, I would rather advice the player and save him from losing. I had this exact experience some time ago, I understood the game perfectly and I knew any next trial would lead to loses. Then I advised a guy to stay off but he disobeyed and played, unlucky for me, he won and saw me as an enemy that tried standing as a stumbling block.

I didn't feel very good about that experience and I wished I didn't say a word but as fate would have it, he tried again and I stood my ground to advise him not to play. Again he disagreed and this time he lost everything including that which he won in the first place. Ideally, it’s better not to advise people but in my religion, it is wrong to see a brother making mistake and staying mute.

I understand your point because in my religion, gambling is also a sin, but, you have to understand that if you warned him once and he gambled twice, it is not your fault anymore for whatever happens next, it is all on him, besides, keeping religion aside, your advice will not always be correct therefore a misunderstanding should be always expected, given that we have different perspective in life, we have to respect that.

In his case, which he thought that gambling is the place for him to make money by winning (by luck) in the first time after you warned him, made his head big and still proceed again but lost in the end, and got mad at you, don't be guilty about it, he is the one who should understand that you're just being a good friend for him to prevent him losing his money in gambling.

I understand that your intention was good mate. However, your method of directly confronting your friend when he was playing is generally a bad idea. If you want to give some advice to your friend, do it before or after the game, in a comfortable coffee shop, etc. It is to avoid any conflict that might arise when a person is under certain pressure and/or under the influence of alcohol, just like others have mentioned. You cannot reason with a person who is not thinking rational.

Whats the use of advising the friend, when the game is over ? If you are a sincere friend, you should warn him if you see he is wagering too much and is on the losing side. He might be angry at that moment with you, but surely he will be thankful to you later when he will realize his mistake and you save him big money.

You can tell him and let him know the consequences of it but final decision will rest upon him and in gambling mostly when greed overpowers people do not listen to friends as well and you cannot do much in such a situation .

He'll only be thankful if he follows your advice but like what most have said here it's unlikely for your friend or probably anyone to take your advice when they're in the middle of their gambling sessions. They're more likely to listen to what you're saying once they're done gambling i've talked to a high roller once I don't know him but we had a good conversation after he was done playing.

They are extremely unlikely to listen to your advice even if you present logical arguments as to why they should take profit and stop, because they think based on their emotions when they're winning. Only when they lose everything will they stop.
Most people think taking decisions based on their own thoughts is smart move but the real smartness is they will hear words from others then they will decide based on everything good.So its not a wonder that most people listen since most people are not smart enough. Cheesy
Then, I hope they will learn from their mistakes latter. I know many of us are not smart in terms of decision making and as well as their perceptions towards gambling but keeping them aware of the possible result for this (wagering), it probably enlightens their mind and stops doing this.
Curiosity brings them into that level of excitement where they also want to try such a strategy and suffer the consequences later.
I don't think it will be enough for a gambler to stop when they are actually addicted already. You may give the best advices to them yet they still do what should not and that's the sign of having a real problem with this self-control. Advices with action is better than cure, I mean you can cure them later but at the early stage you should be more effective in helping them. Addiction is a mental illness that should require an immediate response, if not help it will gets worse.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. I texted him my experience, and suggested to stop it before things go out of his hands. He didn't responded, finally he lost everything. Have any of you got such experience.

Of course, he will not respond, because it's none of your business, and you are messing in his money, he knows how he manages his money. you don't know the history on how he gamble, you're lucky he did not get angry or dare you to a fistfight because others will do that if someone is messing around in their business.

As a friend he might have tried to stop him. It's not messing with someone else's business if they advise not to gamble and lose everything lol. It's just well wishing. I have become angry in past when people told me to stop and take a break, but I always had regret not to listen to them as in the end I busted everything.

Absolutely. And it's so disheartening to see people have to go through something that could be so easily avoided if they just listen to you.

But the frame of mind that gamblers are in are completely different when they are in the spur of the moment and playing the game, as opposed to their normal, rational minds.

Yes I had tried to stop my friends who are getting more into gambling activities but they won't hear it until they face consequences of it,so trying will fail on most cases but if someone who is open minded can understand what we are trying to say and consider it can save themselves from getting addicted.
It's very nice from you to help your friends to not lose too much money gambling. Sadly most people don't listen to good advices from others, they go on and don't stop until they make a complete mess. Just don't give up, sooner or later they will have to understand it for their own good.
I have already tried telling friends around me to stop too, because they were wasting money and gambling wasn't being pleasant and enjoyable for them, but they said I'm too afraid, and who doesn't risk don't earn anything in life. But I know they will change their minds someday.

My experience is similar to your experience, I recently joined sports betting, I created a sportsbet.io account (sportsbet.io has been a good site and I like it), I studied sports betting a bit and got some early wins. (I always bet with small amounts of money to practice), but then I started having a big losing streak that made me angry and made me think I should bet higher amounts to to recover my losses
The mentality of trying to recover the loss by gambling further is the biggest mistake you can make and you might have the confidence that you will recover what ever you lost but you will only understand by loosing further to make these decisions, never try to recover your losses, have a budget to bet and if that budget is over then take a break and come back later.

I decide to stop for a while and withdraw my funds. I decided to stop to study more and come back with my mind more focused and full of knowledge

Betting your money in gambling without knowledge is the worst thing ever people should only bet if they have knowledge. If you lose once then never think that you can win at the same time again just wait and relax to again get the gambling. Choose a good game along with a limited amount don’t be greedy to win with all your income.

Yes and sadly this happens all so much for me and my friends
It will happen at the craps table when its time to 'wrap it up' but there is always 1 person who wants to keep on playing
Even if they are down its when 'chasing' technique comes into play

yes i am , well , i also have been plunged into that world of pain for a long time.
i guess, what wrong with me, when i knew something new, i try found how to doubled or tripled it.
and i knew crypto gambling, well many many fall but also have a success , although its never ROI i guess.
the biggest lost i get is came from cloudbet with live blackjack game. i lost everything, need a few month's to wake up.
We don't need to stop gamblers from gambling their money because it's their own lives so let them play. All we need to do is just to remind them the consequences of gambling whenever they get totally controlled by their emotions. But it's a good thing too to let them face their mistakes so they will learn a lesson from it and be cautious the next time.

now you look like you want to kill me soflty.
no wonder , u using gambling signature (just kidding mate)
let me put some of my opinion.
the fact is true, its about their own money, so let them play as they like, but well, mostly they ignored the consequences of that loss , in the end, high temper driving them crazy to the bloody hell pain.
even alcohol still doesn't enough to killing that feel.
u know like " i am the worst people in the world" , "i am a loser" ,words like that will continue to buzz in your mind for weeks.

We at crypto-games.net sometimes give users a friendly warning when they gamble a lot and keep losing or has made significant amount of profit. Just a gentle reminder that they might want to stop gambling or they might lose all their profit or make more losses. It is only when we see them on the chat box. We also allow users to disable their account temporarily or permanently if they feel like they are really addicted to gambling and wants to stop.
Though all these decisions are totally up to the users.

If you are referring to sports betting then obviously, knowledge will be helping. Winning sports bet is all about understanding the skills of opponents and choosing the one which is the better one. However, this is not the case with random games like dice and slots. Actually there are many more. They all are about luck and luck only. They must be played within limits and should not be learnt as this is not possible.
