I've been into gambling for a long, my major focus was on sports betting. From sports betting earned good, but I wasn't able to make the success continue. I lost out of greed, further my focus turned towards casinos where we get the instant results and doesn't want to wait as we wait on sports betting till a match gets over. By this time I was entirely new to it, and lost big. If someone have contacted me I could've stopped it for a while and lowered my loses.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. I texted him my experience, and suggested to stop it before things go out of his hands. He didn't responded, finally he lost everything. Have any of you got such experience.
Actually it is a good thing to do. But people will not easily listen to you before they face their losses by themself. But me, will not do that thing because i think it is their own privacy. Either win or lose is their choice and before they gambling, they should already know what risk of doing it. Maybe it will be good thing if we warn people before they lose, but if we stop them to gambling, and then know they are win (in case it is not dice or maybe they want to do sportsbet) they will blame us. And worst thing that could happen is we must replace their "almost" winning money.

just like what Darkdays said it is impossible(may it be online or not), you will most likely just annoy the person and get into a trouble/fight.
I've seen many online gamblers betting in high amounts but I never intrude and tell them to stop since I don't anything about them or if they
can afford or not afford to lose such amount of money. it's better to mind your own business and let them be and if they lose it's up to them if
they'll realize their mistake.

I did try but to no effect. It's hard to stop someone who is determined to recover his losses like there's no next time.
If you really try to recover the losses through gambling further then you will end up in further trouble rather than recovering but there are times you might get lucky too and i got lucky a few times in the past but now a days i do not roll that much nor wage as i am not holding that much coins to dispose but causally once in a while i try to have some fun.

What is the reason for recovering your losses if you had already set amount that you can afford, either win or lose? Chasing money in gambling to cover your losses is not a good idea. It will make worst than you are expected. Just always keep in mind the word discipline, to ourselves selves and to our emotions which dragging us in losing everything we had. If this sentiment you can't control probably you will turn to addiction which makes you life become miserable.

This is you saying things in hindsight. You would not really know if you would really stop had anyone told you to do so. You could also be like the guy that you texted.

That's risky for me because if the next bet is the winning bet, you are the one that will be blamed for that. If I am losing and betting to recover my money, I am going to bet high, and sometimes I recover it all and stop. So imagine I am going to bet and you stop me, then the next bet will recover my loses, I will blame you for that. I am just suggesting that don't interfere with anyone who is gambling.

We always learn from experiences... Honestly I haven't experienced that kind of situation yet since as much as possible, I always try to control myself and only limit myself when gambling. I know what it can cause me since I've seen people whom get too addicted from gambling that they can't even manage to be productive and only brought them much debt. I don't know... Since I only gamble for entertainment and I don't really attach my emotions and I always let my mind to control me. Smart gambling is when you know your limits.

Honestly, i also have experienced waging a huge amount of money by playing poker at the casino, which i lost thousands of dollars back then. After that, me and my parents have a fight that night because of that, that is why i stop playing gambling for a while, and i recover all of my losses by working all night at my job and do trading in crypto. For now, i didn't stop playing gambling because it still entertains me ,but now i know my limitations that i know when to stop if i am experiencing huge losses in gambling.

The Op story has been ended up with a lack of self-control. There are people won't listen to advises even though that was his friend if there is in the middle of the game. You OP there's nothing you can do about him because that is his life and money that he spent but at least you are showing sympathy with him and giving advice. Probably your friend is a high-risk taker and trying to focus and he did not want to disturb.
Nevertheless, he was trying to cover those loses but unfortunately, he was on greed situation.

It might sound too selfish but i dont really like to suggest nor getting involved on someones money or decisions specially if they do gamble.
Caring isnt bad but you should be focus first on what you had done and experience rather than minding on other peoples business.
People are way too impatient into most things specially when we do talk about money. We dont like on those waiting times thats why
we do make on selection to play into those fast and instant results but come to think that the risk on losing is way more higher than on the
previous thing you are attached into.
I hardly agree with this, I'm a gambler and I don't want anyone to bother me when I'm playing cause it makes me distracted especially when I need to focus. Most of us gamblers have our own strategies and my strategy is good enough to not be carried away by my emotions like what OP said that a certain person is wagering big amount just to recover his loses which for me is a bad move. If you tell a gambler to stop playing, There's an 80% chance that the gambler will ignore your message, Like what I said some of the gamblers are hating distractions. I suggest that you should let the gambler feels that he needs to control himself and then it will make you an opening to enlighten him to stop or to control his moves on playing gambling.

Not unless you will bring someone with you and make a deal to stop you from wagering, because the truth is?a gambler that was in table playing they are in focus and don’t wanna be disturb and also they tend to stop only wen they run out of resources

That’s the reality of being a gambler and we all knew that ,if we are a true gambler and not just going here to bring opinion

Tbh i don't even care whatever the result. He gamble his own money, and before he gamble it, he already know the risk if he could lose all of money on gambling. Suggesting him to stop only make them feel uncomfortable, since he has his own goal and he will go for it like he wants

Whatever you did there was really a good move. It does not matter if the other side the guys heard you or not.
Anyway, with me I had this addiction long ago and I got some family support to recover it. When thing really goes out of hand, family is the one who can help you.

These days, I am not much serious gambler and whatever I do, I do them for fun only. But still I lose LOL

Honestly speaking, you can not make money from gambling at all. For the bookies it's a business that is selling entertainment. And you are paying to buy the entertainment.

The Op did what is right, but unfortunately a person next to him was hard headed and didn't think about his future. That's why sudden loss of funds happened badly, just because of ignoring a warnings. Sometimes, an advice maybe good or bad but mostly it brings good things leads to the right path, especially our decision making.

Yeah, it happens to one of my friends, it's actually pride and greed playing at that moment,  it's hard to stop a guy who has the momentum to win it all or lose everything, your friend will just get irritated and might blame you, for his bad luck, you know there are this kind of guys, who goes on blaming game just to deny that it was is decision why he loses his money, just remind him but let him decide for himself.

If you did not even know the gamblers well, why you should care of what he is doing? He is gambling with his own money, you do not have any rights to tell him what to do with his money.
You may do it for your close friend only IMO.
Frankly speaking, I would just ignore anyone who tell me "to stop" "to withdraw" etc as I know what I'm doing with my own money.
I know you wanted to do something good for the gambler, but just don't do it if you do not even know who is him.
I will also wont care about what is being done by other gamblers, whether they are betting crazily trying to recover lost then I'll just let him go.

It's practically impossible to convince somebody to stop while they're mid-way through losing their entire stack.

You stand a much better chance telling somebody to quit while they're ahead, rather than stop before you get completely rekt.

Personally, I just let them get on with it. If they've got the money to lose, let them play.

Well it was a nice try no doubt. But sadly, most people blided in gambling would refuse to acknowledge such risks and would still continue to do so. Well, there are also some that have a planned expense and you never know when that bet was actually all planned by him.

Honwstly though, betting ks supposed to be more than for fun. Losing a lot could make it a tough experience though.
