We can try to stop gamblers from losing more money, but we can not force them to follow our suggestion because they will decide by themselves to continue or stop gambling. I think they will hard to stop gambling, no matter if they win or lose, as they really enjoy the gambling games, so maybe not many gamblers or our friends will stop gambling as soon as possible. On one side, that is our friends, and we can not force them to stop on the other side. That will be hard situations for us to say stop to them.

I guess you would not stop someone if they are enjoying, the scenario of what OP is trying to convey to us is if we are seeing a gambler who are losing control and just gamble everything he has even if he is losing as we already know how a situation would end up.

I've been in that kind of situation so I totally understand, I gambled while I'm drunk so I got more aggressive and wasn't thinking straight and end up losing everything, including the money that was suppose for family expenses or budget.

I think I will only do that to a very close friend, and if I really do see that he is not thinking straight.
But otherwise, I won't interrupt someone else's game. They are already adults to know their decisions.
That is their life and hard to intervene someone else's life. You can't just barge and suggest something to them.
They will have their realizations at their own time. So don't force it to others that you barely know.

They'll only realize once they ran out of money, that's the principle of most gamblers, they stop when they have nothing left but if they win, they want to win a lot of money, that's why we got caught up by our bad luck as we are too greedy, too greedy to stop and just bag a win and to greedy to stop that we can't accept our loses easily.

In the end, we will realize the hard way, and it will already cause us a lot, would be okay if we not reach into the situation that we have to borrow money just to gamble as that could probably hurt us more in the future.

the most difficult thing in this world is advising one's own friends...
I'm lucky not to have a friend who is addicted to gambling. I have the experience of a friend who is addicted to drinking and always goes to discos, but to make him realize that it's a bad thing and he has to control is difficult. I think being fussy about friends is good but there are also boundaries to be enforced.

Sometimes people learn not from advices but from experiences and the consequences of gambling can be very bad and can put the person in big troubles, and as friends we should actually try to explain these same experiences which happened with us to them so that they can trust us when we say it's a bad road with a pot hole. We simply can't say that it's a bad thing, we have to share and be open with what we have faced when we were gambling addicts.

any of these gamblers are lonely players who aren't interested in talking to strangers or in sharing their game experience and we have to respect what each person does with their money.
Somehow this is a fact but there are gamblers that are also active in the chat and are open for talks and also look for the advice of their co-gamblers.

If there's someone who's in need for advice and he really needs it, just talk to them if you're present by the time he asks for help.
There are even gambling sites that does have some links that redirects you to a site when you do have gambling problems. Example on Stake where you can click out
that gamble aware link which redirects you to https://www.begambleaware.org/ where you can really approach that link if you do need someone to talk about
your current problem.

Same goes with crypto.games that do give out links into these sites.
https://www.gx4.com/
https://www.gordonmoody.org.uk/
https://www.gamblingtherapy.org/en
https://www.gamcare.org.uk/
This is a very good redirection for those gamblers that might be facing a problem due to their addiction or trouble because they can no longer take it on their own.

Thanks for those links too!  Smiley

Thanks for some elaboration with these website features which do suggest out some websites for at least on helping those players who does have problems towards their gambling activities
but do we really think off that these people would really be using up for their gambling addiction problems? No the wont.

Even how many you would spam out those links or services but still it wont really be getting some interest for those addicted ones to click out and seek for help but instead
they would rather find ways for them to play even more and dont mind on the addiction that is getting worst day by day.

Even though into that situation where these services turns out to be not so relevant but there are still people who do seek out professional advices first before tending to seek help on others
like his own family or loved ones but honestly these kind of problems can really be solved out on your own.Yes, its possible and less bit hassle but this is the toughest challenge
that you could really face off because addiction isnt something that you can just get rid on a single day.

and most of the time, gamblers want to mind your own business. if he lost, thats all on him. you cant say anything about it or bother him about it. because that's his decision. and so i never tried someone to stop from his gambling activities. it is his own will that can only change his habits.
you cant also persuade someone while he is in the middle of his game. he will more then likely be pissed off on you rather than be thankful. so let them be. their money, their choice!

I agree with you. Plus, this idea as a whole seems illogical to me - if a person is already playing, then he has made a decision and all responsibility is on him. If he is addicted, then none of your arguments can change his behavior - here he needs help from family + specialists.

I had an experience before about a friend who was addicted to betting on e-sports. He has this belief that it is more easier for him to earn while gambling or betting. He has this false belief that he does not need to work and he can actually rely on his earning in gambling. Problem is though, he is not that of a strategist when it comes to managing his profits and losses that eventually he sold one of his vehicles and it affected his relationship with his wife. I intervened and eventually was able to convince him to change his ways. He was able to become a trader in cryptocurrency and was able to gamble less often now and made sure that when he gambles he does so with smaller amounts.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. I texted him my experience, and suggested to stop it before things go out of his hands. He didn't responded, finally he lost everything. Have any of you got such experience.

The main goal that he does is of course to be able to return the capital that has been spent even wanting a big win from him, advice from other people will certainly never be heard at all because he has a strong ambition when a gambler plays emotionally
to cover his losses, he will do whatever it takes because he has already spent too much capital. Even when in the lucky phase of experiencing a bit of victory there will be greed naturally and will never stop the game, he will definitely never be satisfied and will continue to bet by multiplying his winnings to get a bigger win.

Most gamblers are like this, if ever you meet some who listen,

Might be one of those hundreds or thousands of gamblers from the gambling house, better to stay back instead. As the chance that those people who you are showing concerns mostly pissed by your interference. Mind your own business and play with your own, your money your  responsibilities, let alone those gamblers and keep away.

What do you mean boyptc? You think most of members of the gambling section aren't real gamblers here?  Roll Eyes I think you're wrong, there are many fake gamblers real spammers here, but there are also true gamblers who are eager to freely share their experience and advice.
I think what he meant to say is that on most gambling platform, there are gamblers who'd like to mind their own business that don't like to engage on chat and there are gamblers who in the other hand gamble and chat at the same time.

Anyway, I don't think that most of these people that don't engage on chat are lonely people but rather are High Rollers and doesn't want somehow to pester them when they are having fun but still there are a small portion of them that are just lonely and sad. These are based on my own experience on various online casino and gambling site's chatrooms.

The main problem with online gambling is that you don't really have a chance to interact with your fellow gamblers. It is more of a thing you do alone and from friends I tend to only hear after while if they win big. As for losses my friends don't tell me too much, so it's hard to know if they are up or down a lot. I remember the good old times when casinos were still open. Whenever I saw a friend win big in roulette or black jack I told him to save some money and not keep gambling with all of it.

That's human nature. People look for somebody to share their success story when they win and they tend to live like nothing has happened when they lose bigly. Nobody wants to share the news on their unsuccessful investments. It is like not telling your mom your bad exam scores. The less she knows about it, the better it is.  Cool
Common human behavior which is actually the truth and who would be tending to share out their failure stories? None right? It wont really be appealing to anybody and of course into yourself.
In the topic talking on stopping gamblers while keeping on making wagers? Sounds a bit fake concern to me or just simply you are trying to convince them out because you had
already experienced the unfortunate events on taking too much or playing much with gambling. It isnt bad though but its really contradicting. If you do give out advices or suggestion
then making yourself as an example would be much better but i doubt that it wouldnt really be that much of different because people will still play.

I've been into gambling for a long, my major focus was on sports betting. From sports betting earned good, but I wasn't able to make the success continue. I lost out of greed, further my focus turned towards casinos where we get the instant results and doesn't want to wait as we wait on sports betting till a match gets over. By this time I was entirely new to it, and lost big. If someone have contacted me I could've stopped it for a while and lowered my loses.

Recently while playing dice, I saw a person who was wagering with large funds to recover the loss. By the time he has lost part of what I have lost. If a player suffers from gambling addiction, then attempts to prevent him from playing are absolutely useless.  This addiction to the game is a disease.  It can be put on a par with diseases such as drug addiction and alcoholism.

At the same time, psychologists argue that, unlike drug addiction and alcoholism, gambling addiction is practically incurable.

Once (I was vacationing in a resort town) I saw a very beautiful girl who was losing money over and over again in slot machines.  I wanted to meet her.  I saw that she had lost all of her game tokens and was standing in the street in complete disbelief.  I bought one game token and handed it to her with a smile (I was hoping to get to know her).  But she didn't even say thank you.  Her eyes were lifeless (like a doll's).  She took the game token and went to play again.

I realized that apart from the game she was not interested in anything.

And there is nothing I can do to help her.

I gamble on a lot of sites and I see a lot of High Rollers gambling a lot of money every day, but you get the odd person who goes bust almost every day. They might win a lot of money and you think that will be the end of it, but no..... within a hour or two they are just back at it and in no time they bust everything.

People make fun of these people and some even encourage them to go "All In" .....just because they want to see those people fail. I on the other hand will push them to withdraw or vault some of their winnings... because I know, if you continue.. the "House" always wins.  Roll Eyes

It's true. Although there are hundreds or thousands of gamblers online it's not that easy to interact with someone in trouble. Many of these gamblers are lonely players who aren't interested in talking to strangers or in sharing their game experience and we have to respect what each person does with their money.
Hopefully addicted gamblers can learn from their losses how to control themselves better in the future to avoid similar regretful situations, because it's not possible to rely in strangers often to save them from committing mistakes.
You're probably right, when feelings of addiction begin to invade a person's mind and emotions, their selves are the only key to overcoming these negative problems, hope help from a stranger is very difficult. Because when I join gambling, I just feel like I become an autistic person, perhaps everyone here has also experienced a part of this feeling, facing four walls and a computer with a gambling game, time continues to pass and we ignore all other people's words and background noise, repeating the same action and only awakening when things go too far from expectation
