That is the thing, your average person will never think of taking such a path regardless of how bad things were, so it should be obvious that this was not only a problem of this person being addicted to gambling, there were some underlying issues with his mental health as well.

And this compounds the problem even further, as one of those issues on their own are bad enough, but if you put them together then it is clear that given the circumstances nothing good can come up out of it, and in this case the worst case scenario came to happen.
as I said before that the man's suicide was not only due to addiction problems but had several causes that could trigger the man's mental decline and he thought that suicide was the most appropriate way out.
but unconsciously doing stupid things like that isn't the best way but complicating other problems like his parents who have to bear the money his friends have to use for betting and on the other hand how sad parents have to lose their son and have to pay some money to replace the one they had used for betting.

with this thread I hope that some of the gamblers on this forum can always remember that it is better to gamble with money that you can afford to lose and of course your own money.

I hope we all as gamblers learn a thing or two from this, and go back and look at our gambling life and see if there is a thing or two that needs to be adjusted..
I pray non of us, and any of our relative shall ever be a victim of such a sad story 😢😢.
I do believe that we shouldn't be really shocked about this because we keep seeing about these type of people, they do exist and even though we would say "don't do it" normal people are aware that they shouldn't do it, it is not a shock, and we shouldn't be shocked neither. I mean you wouldn't do it, I wouldn't no normal person would do it and I understand that, but when it comes down to these people it is obvious that they are not normal.

I believe that we shouldn't judge them, there are a lot of people with mental issues and I think it would be quite troublesome if we end up with anything more than that when we scratch off these type of people as well. I think it's quite important to just let them be and hope that they get the treatment they need before they end up like this guy.

It's also a shame to see some parents not to know what their children are doing in secret, i count it as being insensitive enough to know that your child is gamble being a student whereby gambling requires money to do it, also i will blame the parents the second time for the kind of upbringings the child was exposed to that has led to his thinking about comitting suicide, how did they arrived at training their child having that kind of mentality, he would have been so used to making friends or too used to an open environment full of different atrocities.
The biggest shame is for the casinos explicitly targeting youngsters though. They know they are unaware of the real value of money, they know they are hardly able to manage it appropriately, they know they are more likely to develop a gambling addiction, they know they are less likely to sue them or to make any other things against them if they are scammed. But they don't care, they have already made billions of USD from them and they continue to target them through social medias and streaming platforms like Twitch or Kick. But behind those losses there are tragedies.
It is very sad to hear some news regarding to this it breaks my heart knowing that the man who had died is just a teenager. I just that a little precautionary measure of a gambling site owner will be applied so that it would give them some awareness that they might go into addiction if they dont know what really they are doing and also it will give them some tips not to push too much.
and this that I believe parents will suffer the most because they did not watched over their children as this age? coming to conclusion of cutting their life just because of gambling.

I become a gambler my self back in younger age but never that I turn myself into deciding committing suicide .
Sorry for the loss of the family , this teenage can be a successful person if did not cross this path.

Mental health is really the issue now a days because there are a ton of people, mostly teenagers, that have been through it. Sometimes we will say it is easy to overcome, but it is not, as this really depends on the emotional aspects of the person. I am just worried that they can easily do it, which is not thinking of their family. Even in my childhood, I never thought about suicide, and in that generation of mine, there are really no suicides that I've heard of. Always think that you can find and earn the money that was lost, but your life can never be back.

At some point parents stop being accountable by the actions of their children, after all even if a kid receives the best education possible and all the love and attention that they need, at some point they begin to take their own decisions and it is there when the influence of the parents stop as they cannot decide for their children what to do, and while in such sad cases they might wonder what they did wrong the sad reality is that they could have done everything right and still get this outcome.
Indeed, parents will stop being responsible for their children, but parents will still pay attention to their children because that is a form of love from parents to their children. That's the attitude of parents and even though parents don't seem to care, actually parents really care about their children, especially if their children don't live with them anymore. After children grow up, they begin to make their own decisions without parental influence and parents only pay attention and help children if they ask for help. And in that case, it is possible that the parents must be very sad for their child but it cannot be expressed in real terms and only buried in their hearts.

Amen to your prayers but I don't think it will be easy for addicted gambler to admit they're addicted not until everything  is lost to gambling  and their lives shattered then will they  understand that they were addicted.
I do feel sorry for the poor boy but I don't think this story is just about the gamblers but also about ones family and I guess that one of the major reasons why this boy committed this suicide  was the thought of his family reaction  when they finally find out that he lost his fees and even that of a friend to gambling and I'm sure that it might even make his parents loss trust in the boy and he couldn't bear all this thoughts and gave up and this should serve a lesson to parents here toward how to talk to their children with love and so correct them in love as well .

It's a huge loss to lose a child due to gambling; it's not fair, but the act has already been done. gaming only leads to critical loss; I've been there as a teen; on second pondering, we shouldn't blame the parents; some guardians are naive about their children's lives; I believe these kids followed bad company and were introduced through gambling. Suicide is the only chance for people who have been rendered worthless by their illness, not gambling which can be fixed and in less than no time, everything will come back normal; they fail to recognize that a problem shared is half solved.
What is certain is that parents need to reconsider how they teach their children because they have lost their children to gambling addiction. This is the hardest lesson for parents because they cannot educate their children so they die from gambling. Indeed, we cannot blame the parents but at least it is the responsibility of the parents. And even though the child, for example, is still alive and able to have a family, parents still have a role to play in their children and future grandchildren. So the responsibility of the parents will remain until they die and will be carried on by their children.

Dont know on why parents would be always have to be blamed on the time that their children decisions specially on the time that they are really that on the right age then its not always the guardians should really be taking up the blame. It isnt really just that right because we know that no matter how we do really give out the best of best for our children but we know that they do really have their own will
on making up some decisions in life on which it would really be that resulting which would really opposing on what we wanted.Plus there are really things which would really be affecting their decisions and even
on how well you do make them follow the good way of living, there's always a chance or tendency that it would really be changed up along the way.

This is why i do really prefer on having that open forum every once in a while on which you do really call your kids and whats up and what are the problems that they do have in life.
On this way you wouldnt really be able to blinded or missed out those possible problems that they do have rather than making yourself not able to monitor your children.
Better to do this because each children behavior is really that tototally different.

I think it is rather unfair to blame the parents of the suicidal nature of his child (rest is peace). Depression is not only about behavior or the way a child is taken care of. There are also people who are genetically in risk to suffer from depression and other mental issues.

So I agree that the parents were supposed to know what he was doing, but there is a good chance he was very good at hiding it and abused the trust his parents had on him. Either way, it is easy to judge when we see from far away.  One day you believe you are the best father/mother you son can have, because you managed to send him to college, he is eating well and seems happy, and next day he kills himself.

We need to have more empathy.

You shouldn’t blame parents always, their are something’s parents can’t know about their children, everyone is having private life and as a gambler, you don’t have to visit casino house before you will be able to gamble, even with mobile phone, you can easily gamble and nobody will notice you are gambling.

i count it as being insensitive enough to know that your child is gamble being a student whereby gambling requires money to do it,
As a parent, they will be giving their child money for upkeep, you don’t expect parents to be monitoring what their child is doing with money, and how sure are you that the child is even staying with his parents, you don’t expect parents to know everything about their child. I will still blame the child, how will he be so addicted to gambling to the stage that he has to use his school fees to gamble, and even after losing why will he have to commit suicide after losing.

the parents of that children did not have good parenting skills at all, so they did not even know that their child had become a gambling addict even though their child was still a student.  children really need direction from their parents because, at a young age, they absorb information very quickly and still can't differentiate which is right or wrong so often what they choose is a bad shortcut (in this case it is suicide), i hope that in the future we will not hear any more heartbreaking news like this.
We can't blame the parents, because the advanced technology have given path for the kids to explore and understand everything with the device in their palms. When the parents weren't educated, some kids understand and use it for the good whereas similar kids will try to know and experience everything. If I'm not wrong the parents have grown him good. The fear have made him take this decision. Through some means he have got into gambling and the loss gave the fear and ended his life. Loss of life shouldn't happen for these kind of reasons, so unlike the age it is must to learn well about gambling and get into it.

This will apply when the child has assistance from parents or close people about the gambling they are doing.
It's very sad when you always read news like this, where a teenager commits suicide because he loses at gambling.
As in the case of suicide due to gambling described by Op, I also found the same case, namely a 19-year-old teenager who committed suicide by setting himself on fire as he left a gambling establishment. he loses at gambling and is visibly frustrated by dousing himself in gasoline and setting himself on fire.

https://www.gandul.ro/actualitate/cine-era-barbatul-care-si-a-dat-foc-in-fata-unui-liceu-din-ramnicu-valcea-19983587

Immaturity also has a role to play for those involved in such incidents; if not, I don't see a good reason why someone should think of suicide as the only solution to their problems when they have not even done anything that would end them in jail for the rest of their lives. There is this saying, "Had times or difficult times define men." Yes, "a winner or a very successful man was once a faliur who tried many times, got tired of trying, even got frustrated at some point, and also got depressed at some level, but they sailed through," and that's why they are winning. For a very long time now, I have not read or heard about cases like this happening to a fully grown adult, but lately it's dawning on young teenage gamblers, which makes me think they are underage gamblers. It might not really be what I think it is, but I don't see any reason why someone who cannot handle a big loss would venture into it in the first place.
You got a point on which immaturity is one of the reasons but to mind off that these people are already on 22+ years old on which it is really hard to believe that they cant really be able to balance in between good and bad things on which we know that committing suicide is never been a good thing nor a solution to the problem but there are really ones who do really fall into such conclusion for them to choose up such option
because there's no other way on which they do believe that they cant be able to resolve such problem which is really very wrong.Just like the rest been saying that approaching and telling everything into your parents
would really be the easiest solution because parents couldnt really afford to let their children be experiencing up such problem and depression in relation to that but of course you would really be scolded basing up
on what you have done which it is really that very normal. This is why its really important that you shouldnt consider on making use of others money or whatever not yours when you do gamble.
Gamble only on the amount or fund you do have then you should really be that fine.

While we're having the NBA finals, I am seeing a lot of irresponsible memes posted on social networks. People think that it's funny to bet all that they've got even the money that's set for school fees or monthly bills.

That's true that I am seeing it and these people that posts it on pages think that no kid is seeing it.

What if someone follows it without them knowing it and the person or the kid that saw that meme to bet all that they have really did it and then the bet lost? I don't know what's with these and I know it's just for entertainment but they should be responsible for every audience that will see these posts.

And that's why an example is on the OP and it's terrifying to see someone ends life like that because of gambling.
It's a pity though, the internet is an unbelievable world on its own, I personally can not judge those people making such posts online because clearly, they do not know the implications of what they are doing, to them, they are clearly having fun, and probably do not have the slightest idea that what they are posting could be misinterpreted by some kids somewhere which could drive the kid into making some gambling decisions that could turn disastrous like the what is discussed in the op..

Anyway, we all some time have been or will be guilty of posting such memes in the past or future, it is harmless to us, and we have no intention of leading any other person to harm through such posts, it is just unfortunate that some things we do with a clear mind tends to have negative impact on other people out there.
People barely care about the implications of what they do and they do it regardless of the harm it might make to others. Whether it's about gambling or anything else, the general public always does things that make people take very wrong decisions. Sometimes, they torture celebrities and players with memes and personal remarks which seems fun to them but it actually hurts them as they can clearly see what's happening.

I've seen people committing suicide only because they've been tortured in some way, either by the public or by someone close to them, it's the same kind of people that find bullying to be a fun activity for themselves while it is obviously a torture for the person going through it.

Yeah, it's just all fun and entertainment for them while on the other side of the world. There are those kids, teens or even adults that are taking those memes seriously and they're outraging with the money that they've got and have it bet for these games.

It's harmless for those posters but those that are taking it seriously and following the wrong tip, they're doing the wrong choice and don't think twice before following wrong tips.
