You can remove mitzie from the Greek board's moderation position. Apart from him being missing since December 2022, he appears to have handed over his staff mark. How do I know? I checked web archive, and he did have that sign back in August, which is nowhere now.

Also, the sub-board's birthday is rather May 11th, 2013: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/moderator-201738

  • Added Nigeria local board. Not sure when theymos created it.
It was created in the early hours of December 21st, 2022 as evidenced in Congratulations everyone, we made it, welcome to the Nigerian (Naija) Local board. It indeed was a symbolic Xmas gift to the Nigerian community that came at its due time. We woke up to it and the entire community was agog with excitement.

It's time to edit the table a little. The Vietnamese local board is no longer blocked and a new moderator, Xal0lex, has been added to the "Other languages" section.
Thank you. I forgot to update the status of Vietnamese local thread. In fact, I was the one who tried to make request for unblocking it. I am going to update the moderator for it too.

I don't know if this top is dead, no update for a long time. But if you do a google search, your topic will come up, as it happened in my case. And so I would have a request to the OP @tranthidung to update the topic. And my local community is fairly active now, so I'll tell you to remove the inactive tag.
Thanks. I did not update this thread for a long time but I knew about efforts from your local members to increase its activities and made your request to have a local board.

Completed.
  • Xal0lex now is one of two official moderators for local threads in Other languages.
  • Updated status of Bangladesh local thread.
  • Added Nigeria local board. Not sure when theymos created it.

Hope you can update the Pilipinas local board I wanna see the data of its post/merit coz it seems like only a few people posted there and opens topic recently. I think all local boards is quite inactive than the past months, might be an effect of the pandemic giving people less eagerness to know about the current state of the crypto ecosystem.

Will try to catch it here.
If you wanna see how Pilipinas local board performs in the merit/post category and how it compares to other boards, you might wanna check [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity. I keep updating that thread since March 2020, so you will be able to see how situation progressed from then up until now . You are right though about Pilipinas board being less active lately. If you check that link, you will see that your local board is experiencing steep decline in all aspects: posts, merits and merit/post ratio, with August  being worst of them all.

For in depth look  at your local board I suggest you check @DDmrDdmr merit dashboard.

Could you please update OP with latest data? Especially the standing of local threads under Other Languages in 2020 would interest me.
Sure. I gonna update stats when I have time (maybe this weekend or one / two weeks later). Stay tuned !

Since @SpaceSuite asked the question about updating the data for the local boards I decided to jump in and help out a bit by at least sharing you @tranthidung the full data for the Croatian local board. So here we go.

I used the data from @DdmrDdmr  Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard as I always do.

Only showing data from May to August as I can see that you had data up to that point and excluding September since it's not complete.

POSTS:

Net created posts:

Net created post evolution:

MERIT:

Merit per post:

Merit per month:

Merit per post graph:

I used all this data to create a chart with all the information and data that you need, from what I was able to understand from your previous posts and created a chart for Croatian local board to save you some trouble and work.

Under Other languages/locations, you seem to have missed to add বাংলাদেশ (Bangladesh) - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bengali-631891.
Thanks. I missed it.

Thanks for your suggestion, Rikafip. Honestly, I don't make new analysis on local boards because the one I made for the thread was based on help and data dump from LoyceV, not from DdmrDdmr.

The level of activity was identified from their stats (my long ago analysis). I don't follow their changes recent months because I don't think such stats will change considerably after a few months. So let's me see later.

I will use monthly statistics in your thread for OP's coming updates. And sure, a bonus for you (I advised you doing that), when I do it I will define colors for boards to help them having consistent colors over different charts. Stay tuned! (I will update color-recoded charts here)

I changed my plan and imput data from Rikafip, then decided to use estimated merit per 100 posts rather than merit per post.

Notes:
  • Total posts are new ones in April but I don't know how total merits are for all posts (includes before-April posts and in-April posts) in each local board. I guess it is for all-time posts, includes old ones.
  • Boards which zero new post in April were excluded.

Hey @tranthidung, I have one suggestion: maybe it wouldn't be bad to update status of local boards, in regards to their  current activity. I remember that you consider something like that as well

Over time, each month passes, I will have more data and I will consider to add more indicators, such as total posts and average daily posts within last 120-days period.

Imho, in current state it is kinda misleading, and doesn't give clear picture of  local boards status . If you take that 120 day period, you will see that  situation changed quite a bit. Several once very active boards are pretty much dead now, some that are marked as less active are more active now , etc.

Regarding the languages without local boards, I don't see the most active one, Pakistan listed there. In the last 4-5 months they are the most active among those without local boards by far (not that there is much activity there, beside them and eventually Bangladesh and Serbian) , and probably more active than quite a few local boards. In last 120 days they might even qualify for your "less active" status , since they probably have more than 5 posts per day.

Hrvatski (Croatian)201Link31/12/2014NoNoLess active
"Croatian" thread was originally in "Local>Other" (Hrvatski) and thread has been created on the 1st July 2011. Nickname of account which started thread, musper, is slang. It means "sperm"  (good old Balkan mentality, never disappoints you  Roll Eyes). Croatian local board was created few years later, on the 18th December 2014.  First thread where its creation is mentioned is this one and thread was  open in less than one hour after Theymos announced new board.  First moderator was Lauda, and we don't have moderator since his removal (in 2017).

This thread is actually "happy new 2015!" thread and 18th December should probably be official birthday date (I used word "probably" because birthday could also be on the 1st July, I guess it is something to discuss).

Interesting history,  thank you for sharing 😁
We are no so big community but still we have a lot activity so I'm not sure why before we could have moderator but now I can't.
I remember that theymos started topic in our local board and asked us to suggest new moderator after Laude and we gave some sugestions but after that nothing happened.

Okay. Thank you all with today information. Your replies boosted me to think of adding a new column - ex-moderators. I think it is relevant to add into the table in OP. Because the thread is for history of local boards, and we already have birthday, adjusted birthday, so now we should split the details for moderators into:
  • Moderators: for current ones.
  • Ex-moderators: for past ones.
One more thing to adjust for the table is adding URL links to those (ex-)moderators' profile pages.

I am going to let you know when I updated the OP.

As being said:
Go locals, if you find any detail incorrect or find new ones, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Lastly, if you need more details on merit distribution (a bit off-topic) on your local boards, let's visit that one (quoted below) and contact me if you need more details or want to translate that whole thread or specific parts of posts inside it or adjusting labels, titles on plots into your local languages.

By now, I made analyses for daily merits over five local boards only: Russia, Indonesian, German, Turkish and Français. If you need more for weekly/ monthly merits, please contact me.

The Spanish local board has got a @Welsh man looking after it now, so we’ve had a change of mod, officially sighted as moderator there for the first time on the 01/01/2020 (must be related to @Welsh celebrating new year’s eve with a few gulps of Seaweed Gin or such).

I was not in the forum when each board born but as the others discussed, boards' IDs have no relation to their appearance orders.

But I agreed that there are some incorrect information.
