Its better to hold the coins because in holding you can earn more profit. You'll sell your coins when the price goes up to its desirable value. Though not everyone is covered to this statement since each one of us doesn't have a stable financial status. It may applicable for those who have financial stability.
Yes holding has more opportunity to gain more profit but not everyone can do that since we are all have different financial status and decisions in life, because money is a needs in our daily life then we can't assure that we can hold such coin for a long time.
It depends on the coin you are holding. If you hold a coin that does have a low value to the present and to the future value, better sell that on the bearish market and you may even buy a coin that is move valuable at the bear market. But when you hold a coin that has a potential to be great in the future, better hold on that one and it is better to buy more of that when the market is down.

I think in these period, the best think is to hold your altcoin till when the market recover because selling now will only bring more loss because you will sell at low price but if you wait, you can sell at a higher price. The only time I think you should sell in this condition is maybe you are in urgent need of money and you have no other means of getting it or maybe you bought when the price was lower than it is now and you believe when you sell, you will still make profit but aside this, I think it is better to hold.

there is no reason to keep hodling on long term bear markets. the efficient way switch the altcoin portfolio to bitcoin or usdt. btc looses x amount that facts altcoins losses 3x amount.
now is not the right time to sell coins because now the market is still unstable, now the average coin is dropping so better now hold your coins in a few months to avoid losses or you can use this opportunity to buy potential coins to hold back until the market recovers.
