When the market falls, you always need to keep coins until you return to the old price at least, but better when you see a good price increase, now I have hold.
Most of us here that is what exactly we do. We keep on holding the coin, if the price is not actually good, but if we have a chance that it the price will hit better as it as before then we guarantee to sell it.

My opinion and tactics at the moment are to wait and see what happens. If it goes lower, I have my buy orders to buy some coins but if it reverses I will follow.

Should we hold on to altcoins which we have invested and see the price dropping every moment or it will be better to sell them and buy it again when the value pumps ? I have already lost a good margin of profit with the ripple I don't want to make the same mistake with the Lumens which I Hold so should I hold on or sell out ?

Hold is better to do to grow even more your coin and sell it when you saw the market is in the highest point. Holding or selling is depend what coin you have and its depend to your needs, if you really need money immediately then surely you will sell it once the market is start rising. I Believe holding Altcoins for the future increase, I never sell all just try and take out what I put in initially, this way I don't feel like i missed out when it rises gain
