As it seems to me, this will be the best strategy for your assets in the near future while the market is in this state. With the growth of major currencies, one can already consider another strategy

I hold 3 coins espers-(3 years),insane-(2 years),html - (5 years) Shocked and price is the same....no moon ....I dont trust to holding anymore,any suggestions?

Will this is your own thought that holding is bullshit and i respect it,but i just only asking you,did you monitored, this your three coins in the exchange market?that did you find a potential that it will grow someday?if not so why did you  continue to hold it,because holding also need your own instinct and decision whether you must continue to hold  or sell it now, before the price in the market will dump.

I agree. It is really a crap holding crap coins. Holding on promising coins is good but suddenly not all coins are good. That is why we must dig deep on research on coins we want to invest with. I personally would not wait 2 to 5 years holding coins that did not make any changes on the market. You have waited too much for nothing. I would have switch those coins to another. Do not just randomly invest on any altcoins claiming they will go up to the moon. Investigate the legitimacy and observe.

Very well said.

Why you don't hold bitcoin, ethereum and dash coin or any other cryptos coins. ? If you hold the bitcoin the king of cryptocurrencies 5 years ago, you know how much your money right now, i don't think holding the digital coins for long term is something bad because the problem is not on the holding but in our choice for holding cryptocurrencies, holding is just the strategy of investment so don't blame it.

But holding is not for price to skyrocket. It's when you believe in the projects.
And nothing is stopping you to trade the coins you are holding and make a profit meanwhile.

It is sad on the part of the thread starter that in a span of 2 to 5 years that he's not earning from those 3 altcoins. I think he should replace those coins now. That's a very long time waiting.

Looking into the past, every previous crash has recovered with a new ATH. The advice to HODL is just based on history. If you believe crypto is here to stay, then eventually previous ATHs should be breached.

you are half way there to success. you have already gained this valuable experience that you should not hold altcoins for long term because this is what will happen to you if you do.

now all you need to do is to find an alternative strategy to make profit from altcoins. and that strategy starts with first finding good altcoins that are not already in a bubble but instead are getting ready for a rise.

Holding crypto is the great thing that we should do.
Actually it depends on what kind of coin did you choose to invest, if it's good and have a potential in the future, of course before invest and trying to hold it just analyze the details to be sure that you will get a good profit.

With those coins, you can't really expect much lol.. Perhaps invest in good coins with potential and try HODL'ing.

Can't go wrong with that!

Nope just hold your altcoins or buy now since it is the best time for it while the price is down. Altcoin will rise its price when bitcoin price will fall down. That is why you should invest now while the bitcoin price is considered as high ranging from 10k Usd and above. And probably the bitcoin price will reach its peak price by the december of 2018 and will fall down on january 2019. So by january 2019 these altcoin price will soar high. So for now start investing and I could introduce to you the ASTORGAME ICO. It is already being recognized globally as the most promising ICO in the world. This project is indeed for those who like to enjoy in entertainment the esports plus the mass gambling that could win you the jackpot or from lottery. If you wish to learn more about the ICO visit the webpage with the link below:

You just chose the wrong coins. By the same to-day, the market is in a wild drawdown. Just need to carefully select coins for investment.

Holding coins for long periods is not a futile job if you hold a coin of bitcoin, ether or ripple but if you hold a shitcoin, it is your fault for holding it too long,
At least we can predict which coins should be on hold and which ones are off,

It is because you HOLD shitcoin dude  Tongue
Change your portfolio in very good project such as: Bitcoin (obviously), ETH, NEO, XMR, XLM, Waves, etc. If you get those coins in the early stage then your long term HODL will paid off right now.

I don't even know those coins. But it seems to me that they are completely without a future. You've probably invested badly. You should look for and buy coins that have potential. Holding on a long term is not bad at all.

you should hold coin that has a good future , you are lucky enough that the coin you hold has still the same value , and also the year that has pass by 2 to 5 years you did not think that there is nothing will happen on your holdings ? 6 months is enough for you to hold then sell if the price is good .

Its just matter of patience in waiting the price when increase or better you just exchange your token now because I think the coin you are holding is not going to increase because it is not in demand to the consumers.

This is too small amount of coins. My portfolio for investing in cryptocurrencies includes from 25 to 40 coins. I follow the project team and on the basis of this, I make a decision: either to keep the coin or sell it.
