Every step is definitely risky, not to mention holding.clear we need a relatively long time to sell and get the profit we want.
We only want to lose time or lose assets.
I think the risk is just losing time or losing assets.

There is no guarantee that another year the bitcoin price will continue to improve so the holding is certainly risky, but I prefer to hold for now because the bitcoin price is cheap and when I bought last year more than $ 10k, so I dare to take risks instead of losing money.

As indicated by predictions bitcoin should have achieved 15k$ by end of 2017 and fall in the first week of Jan 2018

In any case, shockingly its effectively reached 17k$ in 2017.

Should I purchase or hold my BTC?I don't plan to sell at any point in the near future.
Holding Bitcoin too long is also very risky. But the longer we hold the price of Bitcoin can get higher or even more down. Holding Bitcoin for many years can earn multiple benefits. The more profits we get the greater the risk we will receive. But for now, I suggest you buy Bitcoin and hold it for longer. Because the price of Bitcoin has started to rise slowly.
Yeah, bitcoin is often regarded as a long-term investment so as to gain the multiple benefits out of it, it is necessary to keep it for long. However, the price often fluctuates in between sometimes making the price too high or even low but holding it for long will eventually increase your profit, since more the time invested in holding it, greater will be the profit...

Now the market situation is mixed. Sell on the oversold market is a bad idea. Just  need to wait for the rebound. Sooner or later the price will be restored and we will see new heights. If the author was able to sell in early January he lucky man. If not, then he HODL like the majority.

so are you saying that holding for a short time is not risky ? of course it is still risky. It doesnt matter if you hold short or long because the price of bitcoin is always fluctuating.  You can loose if you are not aware on whats going on with the prices , that is why it is recomended to always watch the market because anything can always happen without prior notice. the price can sky rocket and plummets upwards even only a few days of holding , that is why you cant say holding for a verry long time is beneficial.

It depends what price did you pay when buying Bitcoins. If you held at 19k I think you should definitely hodl now since selling would be accepting a loss and it's not over for BTC, it may well be over 19k at the end of even this very year.

We can not predict the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin prices are always changing due to very high fluctuations. So we can not decide to hold or not. We can only see things and make decisions at that time. Taking a decision without doing an analysis then we will take a very big risk.
That's right, I really agree with you. Hold for long term is for person who believe bitcoin price will high and he don't feel worried if bitcoin price crash. Different with someone who have invested in bitcoin but he take a carefully for his investment. It will be good for him to take a decission if bitcoin price down, like sell when the price will fall and buy when price cheap.

Buying and holding is risky, as we know that bitcoin prices tomorrow is not necessarily higher than it is now, the large number of panicked users makes that development difficult and this is what makes people sell cheaply.

In as much as holding Bitcoin is risky because of its fluctuations in value in the nearest future, i equally believe that selling at the current market value of Bitcoin is also risky because had i know will definitely be mentioned when the change trend to an upward direction.

As of now the best you can do is to hold because bitcoin is decrease the price so since enter this year and this time is the opportunity to buy more bitcoin because it's not too expensive.

In this situation, it is difficult to say with a 100% guarantee that the cue ball will not continue to drop in price to 3000. This coin is reliable, and for a long time, and at this cost can be purchased. His growth is guaranteed in the future unequivocally.

Holding is usualy something that is related to long term period and we all know that long term investments are usualy less risky. This especialy applies to Bitcoin. It's less likely that you will lose with Bitcoin on long term than on short term so holding is good decision. But important is to define the strategy and the final goal, what the holding on long term actualy means for you (months, years) and it's important not to fall under tempation to sell.

It depends on your view of it. Holding or investing in bitcoin is all a risk, ultimately it is all up to you that how much loss you can bear, on other hand investment in any monetary deal is always risky, it may or may not gainful, or reciprocal.

Well entering bitcoin is really risky, so for me either holding or investing its all risky. It is just how you deal with it, on how you will manage/manipulate your money if it will be in profitable or loss.

You were the one who will decide on what you will do in your money, just be smart on facing/dealing with all the risk you have to face.

the bitcoin price keeps going down now so all you can do is hold the bitcoin because if you sell bitcoin now you will lose, so you should hold and reduce the risk of loss because it will be more profitable

People who bought the Bitcoin at the higher price there is no choice for them till the price starts increasing. As of now, holding is the good move because we cannot sell the coins when it is at market dips, so instead of selling Bitcoin for cheap, it is better to hold the Bitcoin for some more time.

for now hold back will not be harmful, because bitcoin prices are down, and it is now time to hold or if the tone still have the capital can buy to get more profit from what you spend
We keep on holding but because the price continue to drops, we get worried about it. Holding definitely possesses a big risk because you will depend the future value of your investments in the market prices. We have a very volatile market and the value of our investments is proportional to this so don't ever think that holding is that easy. No one likes the feeling that he get whenever he sees the content of his portfolio in red. It is normal to get worried but make sure not to get affected that much, deal with the loss and think how you are going to remove that. Volatility is not always about low prices, it also mean that there is a room for price growth.
