One of the best things for you to do as a cryptocurrency investor to protect yourself from scams is to make sure that you are crosschecking everything before you invest yourself in them. in my opinion it's a very easy thing, basically we don't trust anyone here especially if you want to invest in ico because fraudsters now use fake names in telegram by saying if they are a team or use names that are almost the same as teams

It is very hard to know who's the scammers and which project are legit, i've have been here for quit sometime but until now i can't determine them, for me to avoid scam projects I always select thus who has an existing project.
The best way to protect ourselves from scammers is to keep our self well informed and be vigilant. If we notice scams we must share it with others as well to help them not fall for scammers. Some people easily fall for scammers because they are too greedy. We must always read and acquire new informations to keep ourselves updated with the latest.
the problem is to find the new coin that can do a big % of price grow...we must look for coins that are not ico or bounty but people are too stupid for this....I regret I did not get bought coins like litecoin,vertcoin or viacoin when they were very very low in 2015...there is a good dose of luck of course, but you must always do your own researches...for example watch Elicoin in livecoinwatch , is not an ICO or bounty... it's a coin with low mc, low supply, PoW whit cpu, no premine, active dev...only trading it on CREX24 for now...do you own researches in the thread in bitcointalk: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anneli-elicoin-cpu-mining-only-exchange-available-3028302... people are too stupid for DYOR and got scammed by ICO or bounty...just my 2 cents...hope it helps...cheers
