I was wondering how'd you discover or know about bitcoin? Did someone refer you? Did someone show you what you did? Through the news? Share something here.  Cheesy

I think that most of people here have seen bitcoin on advertisement or on google search.

For me it was accidentally discovering bitcoin as I was searching something in google and bitcoin appeared there like an ad.

If i remember it was something about how to make money online and I'm very glad that I have learned about bitcoin for those years.

I discovered Bitcoin through hearing about it on the news back when it was hitting the ATH. I spent a few months farming away at faucets seeing if there was a way that I was able to go and make some money off of Bitcoin, and I eventually ended up on this forum doing a lot of freelancing and a fair amount of other services. I eventually hit up a signature campaign, and here I am, 3 years later.

First time I read about bitcoins was when broke $1000 threshold on 27 November 2013 and many people had started to speak about it. After that price crashed to $600 at Dec 2013 and I stopped concern. After Mt. Gox heist Feb 2014 start to concern more actively with it and daily active when I showed some merchants to accept it instead of fiat money for transactions

To be honest my friend told me this stuff a long time ago, so I created an account here in bitcointalk but I easily give up and quit on doing it. Then this past two months I've seen my friends was earning a really good amount of bitcoin and I was jealous that time. So, I went back on doing bitcoin again, I didn't quit easily like the last time and right now I'm also earning bitcoin like my friend.

Someone introduced Bitcoin to me. Although, I might have heard about it before but just didn't pay attention. I think that's why we can't be sure who introduces Bitcoin to us, you know. We could have heard about it a lot just going through the news but there had to be something peculiar for us to notice it one day.

I saw some faucet about Bitcoin and I dowoaded a wallet and started doing faucets. When I saw that it wasnt going pay some money, I gave up as I thought it was the only way to earn it.
I have accidentaly found it again a year later, when I was browsing some site that was giving away and selling bundled Steam games. When I was heading to the paying methods page I saw Bitcoins as a way of paying. I remembered that I used it and then I started to get deeper in it and started earning it.

I don't believe in miracles, I believe in coincidence. I don't believe that I found the bitcoin, I sure that the Bitcoin found me. And after that, my life has changed coin after coin. It was like salvation.  Shocked

I first heard about Bitcoin from my friend a few years ago.
Unfortunately, I was stubborn and stupid and didn't trust it.
I became believer when I heard how much my friend earned from his Bitcoin.
He suggested me to come to this forum to learn more about it.
I'm happy to be part of it and feel sad that I didn't join before.

I always love the subject about money and naturally I came on this topic on the internet via the google search engine. I wanted to know more and I read two books, then I created my wallet and the rest history.

My next step will be to learn programming in order to understand the source code Wink

Better try to learn programming to create a digital coin or could learn to create signature. These things to equip you and make you earn money here in the forum.

a couple years ago, apprx. 4 years, I was home and trying to find a game to play after a hard and busy week. So While I was watching a gameplay video, I decided to look comments about the game. There was a comment chain about bitcoin and the discussion was very fierce. I didn't quite understand what was all about and searched web for bitcoin. My English was not that good that time, and I know very little about finance, currency etc. So I couldn't get any clear idea.

So for sake of curiosity, I created a wallet. Then I started to collect some bitcoin from faucet. It was fun. The faucet gave me 1 bitcoin for every turn.

I can't quite remember how much bitcoin I collected that night and the following day. It was about 100 bitcoin I guess. But as I said before, It only fun back then...

Now I have a wallet, but have no idea where is it.  Grin Grin

My friend introduced me about bitcoin and he told me advantages as well as the benefit which it brings to users. And after hearing his course, I was fascinated by Bitcoin and started to learn about it. There is a lot of information on the Internet so it took me around a month to discover and find useful information. Thanks to his course, i have never ceased studying about bitcoin.

I discovered bitcoins because I always lurk around the internet and I really really want to earn money online back then. As a student, the greatest position to have in life for me was to earn money while studying. It teaches us to discipline ourselves, manage our time, and enhances our thinking when it comes to planning hectic schedules.

I might have searched "How to earn money online" more than 20 times before I finally found something that really pays. Most that I've been on was paying using Paypal but there are also people talking about bitcoin. I wasn't interested back then because I thought it was a scam and I'm too lazy to read articles since I'm already earning some money. Eventually, I had time to burn and so I searched bitcoins and that's how it all started.

Back before I knew about Bitcoin, I am a online website that uses free domains like .cf and .ml and free software like MyBB. I do not have access to online payment such as credit card or paypal. One webmaster at ForumPromotion then introduce me (not really specifically me, but a thread about Bitcoin) to Bitcoin. I then spent the next few hours reading the docs at Bitcoin.org and find Bitcoin to be the currency that I have been looking for a long time.

I downloaded MultiBit the next day and generate myself my first Bitcoin address. I start collecting Bitcoin (since I do not have online payment access) from faucets and micro-earning sites.

Today, I am a proud Hero Member at Bitcointalk. Smiley.

It happens when I told to my friend that I need some extra income then he introduced me to bitcoin, Teach me some basic stuffs and his source of income.

At first I didn't believe it.  I thought that my friend was trying to lead me into some pyramid scam (AWWWW) but fortunately it's not because he showed some proofs.

And them I started doing some things that he does also for bitcoin like being active here.
