Back in the days when CPU/GPU mining was still possible, I wanted to buy a new Gaming accelerator card. I Googled the different options and by accident stumble onto a video on Youtube of people using GPU's for Bitcoin mining and they were making money from their hardware.

I thought this was a crazy idea, that you can play games with the hardware and when you not playing games, it can be used to earn money. < effectively paying for the hardware > In those days, these cards were very expensive.

By the time I bought my hardware, GPU mining were not profitable anymore, but I got hooked on Bitcoin. ^smile^

That's a pretty interesting way to discover it. I'm envious that I haven't discovered it right away. Bitcoin is cool Wink

I don't remember, maybe I see some article on facebook or things like that but I don't started to use or read more about, so after some years I don't know why I start to use and well, that's the future.

I think a lot of people around the world knows about bitcoin but just don't use it yet, like me in the past.

I was introduced to bitcoin by one of my friend who have been into bitcoin usage for a long. Initially it seems to be something different to believe but once entering the forum got to know about all its advantages and its potential. From that I too started earning and use bitcoin as well taught to few friends around my native town.

I was introduced to Bitcoin by a drunk nerd at a party... I call him a nerd, but he knows my intention is pure. {joking} ... We started a

conversation about money, and he said... Do you know Bitcoin? .... and then I went down the rabbit hole. I bought my first bitcoins from him,

and I still buy from him.. { He is the richest Nerd I know }  Grin

I was wondering how'd you discover or know about bitcoin? Did someone refer you? Did someone show you what you did? Through the news? Share something here.  Cheesy

The mastermind of internet, google uncle Grin who let me know about this unique thing before a year or a little more ago when i was looking for some good online earning opportunities and i came across bitcoin, the thing that attracted me the most was its price which was huge for me at that time though it was too less than what it is right now but it was the biggest price i have ever seen for any currency in my lifetime.

Well, one famous rapper in my country advises people to use bitcoin because he believes that the Government will collapse soon and when the Government dies, our Fiat will die as well. It was pretty funny that most of them believed on him and either did i.  However, it took me about 2 months to decide to listen to him and took me another 2 months to know how exactly the Blockchain system works. Anyway, if i did not join the bitcoin world, i would regret by now

I read an article on a blog about Bitcoin at 2011, I can't remember many details now but unfortunately for me, I wasn't smart enough back then and decided that I wasn't interested in this project and missed the chance to be one of the early adopters.

I discovered it on Facebook when I was promoting a PTC site. A guy PMed me and told PTCs don't worth the time, that it doesn't pay good amounts and told me the new way to make profit on the internet was with Bitcoins. So, he sent me a faucet list, a wallet link and I started using and making my 100.000 satoshis profit daily.

After some time, I was looking on google about BTCs and I found this forum. So, I signed up and start using BitcoinTalk Forum. And here I am until now. After made some mistakes like investing in cloud minings, HYIPs, hoping to make some decent profit, I learned it's just a lie and it's not possible to make a lot of profit this way, even with Bitcoins. I can say today Bitcoins gave me an oportunity in my life, because if wasn't the BTCs, I don't know what I would do now...

I discovered it in 2010 when I was reaching a tech article when I was in college but never did got on to research more on it. Then read about it on another tech article in 2012 when I was in graduate school already. Again, I never investigated further about it and just Wrote it down as a possible future thesis topic for my graduate studies' thesis but never had the time to consider it until 2015. Now I regret not reading anything about it that time. I could have been a millionaire by now. Well, that's my bad luck.

Believe it or not, I learned about Bitcoin by attending the Bitcoin Bowl in St. Petersburg, FL to watch my NC State Wolfpack beat Central Florida.  Afterward, I purchased my first bitcoins for $228 each.  Been hooked ever since.

Here's my story:

I had a spare Android phone and wanted to do something to it. So I googled about things/projects/fun stuffs I can do with the phone. One of the results I got was about using Android phone to do "calculations" in return for "money"... That's how I learn about bitcoin/mining. Of course the article I read was already 1-2 year-old, and I wasn't able to do meaningful bitcoin mining with a phone then- the difficulty was only about  50-60 million...

I think it was more profitable back then right?

I actually got to know about Bitcoin not too long ago when a friend who wanted to introduce a particular investment platform to me and saying I can use either FIAT or Bitcoin, then I was like so there is a currency like that? after that I began reading on it until I stumbled on this forum after that my level of knowledge has broadened about the subject matter and I wish I could have known more earlier.
