I discover bitcoin with the help of facebook and different groups out there. I'm a type of person that join every group that have a lot of members and somehow i didn't know that the group that i been joining is all about bitcoin and i saw a couple of posts discussing what is bitcoin and what are the advantages of it. So because of that i get curious and start searching until i found this forum and get a lot of information to make me feel comfortable in understanding how the bitcoin works.

I've discovered the bitcoin when my friend have told me about it. So that time, I'd became more curious about it so I ask him again until one day he told me to join this forum. Then when I already joined here, I finally understand what the bitcoin means.
Bitcoin is so amazing! I think, I'm one of the luckiest because I found it. Smiley

I discover bitcoin shen i was surfing the internet on how to earn online early this year. There are many things that showed up but what caught my interest is bitcoin. Bitcoin has a big value when converted to fiat. And in bitcoin also has different ways to earn it based on what you want or prefer.

As far as I can remember, I think I heard about bitcoin on another forum. Where someone just started using bitcoin and they shared how they are earning from it and all. He also shared about bitcointalk.org too, back then I was not interested so I didn't care much for it. But just a few months back I thought I must try and see what it actually is and here I am now.

I saw it in a redditlike local internet website. The price was 30$ for 1 bitcoin at that time. I was trying to figure out what does it mean to own a bitcoin. I was slow as fuck though. It became 100$ in a flash. Then 500$. Then 1000$. You know the rest. That was in 2013. Luckily i was still be able to made 1000$ out of that mega pump. I know that somebody lost that 1k$, and that's why i won it. Well that's how a free market works. Nobody puts a gun to your head and make you buy from the top price.

I just read some articles about bitcoin and it catches my interest. I made a post about bitcoin from a forum and someone reffered me  to this site. Bitcoin is popular now, you can see it in any social media like facebook. So its easy to know bitcoin unlike the earlier days, when i ask someone about it they say "huh? Whats that? Is it a brand of chocate coin?". Lol

I've found more than 3 topics asking the same question like this, can you people please at least just search it on the search box whether the topic that you would like to make has already been posted by someone before or not. Because if no one wants to do this, then I'm sure we'll find a lot of threads with the same topics posted around on this forum.

And for the other members, please stop answering these questions.

I've got the knowledge about bitcoin through my office mate. He introduced bitcoin to me. At first, I don't understand what bitcoin is. How it is being traded and invested. But I took the initiative to have a google search about all the concepts in bitcoin. I searched and read articles about what bitcoin is, about blockchain, mining, trading, etc. And slowly, my mind has widen and I began to understand Crypto world. Now the postings in this forum adds some knowledge to me about the current trends in bitcoin.

Mid-2013, before silk road collapsed, friends convinced me to look more closely at Bitcoin. There were already online exchanges when we could easily buy bitcoin. Moreover, there were at least 2 places where you could buy coffee with bitcoin - I immediately realized this IS a key to a new global money management.

What I thought was important at the time was:
- cheap international transfers (solves the PayPal problem, transfers to China, online payments)
- deflationary character - seems like a good investment too
- (relative) easy of use (sans confirmation times)
- local community was starting to build up, there were local Bitcoin meetings etc.
- last but not least, online gambling

This all created an exciting atmosphere of something new being born. More or less I still think this is happening and I am happy to live in these interesting times.

...

From Zero Hedge (bwa ha).  Back about 2012/3 (right before BTC's big price run up)

http://www.zerohedge.com/

One of their members gave me my first "bit nickel" (0.05 BTC) and helped walk me through various steps, even sold me some BTC by "mail order".

Of interest perhaps is that only ONE person I know has taken up BTC.  NO ONE else among my family or friends cares in the least.

I think some family members don't really care what you say. They just listen in one ear then out on the other, the usual. Oh well. It's a good choice to take up BTC. I think it's the future.

The first time I heard of Bitcoin was when a friend told me that he won a large sum of money. He told me that he won on a betting site. I asked the site to see if even win. At that site you'd get very little free money and if they reach a certain amount you could remove them. Since then, I was interested in Bitcoin site.

like many others, I found out about bitcoin through a friend of mine. and I think it was the best way that I could have found out about bitcoin because I had a close person to me who answered all of the questions that I had back then to begin with using bitcoin. and then over time I learned more about bitcoin and invested my own money in it also.

Back in the days when CPU/GPU mining was still possible, I wanted to buy a new Gaming accelerator card. I Googled the different options and by accident stumble onto a video on Youtube of people using GPU's for Bitcoin mining and they were making money from their hardware.

I thought this was a crazy idea, that you can play games with the hardware and when you not playing games, it can be used to earn money. < effectively paying for the hardware > In those days, these cards were very expensive.

By the time I bought my hardware, GPU mining were not profitable anymore, but I got hooked on Bitcoin. ^smile^
