When someone ask you to join in this kind of project, and your friend/s told you that this one is worthy and you invest on it, at the first quarter of the year, the progress is good, the project is maintaining and you are always active in the community, you wait and wait for weeks in airdrop and also invest on it, but after months later, the community chat box starts to be quiet and no more active participant then in the end the moderator/admin/creator will eventually shut down the project. That is the worst feeling i had, so now, before i join in other airdrops and invest on something, i do research  Wink

You seem to be investing in a promising coin with a good future, but as a result, the purchased coin turns into shit and depreciates, and you are looking for any opportunity to get rid of it.

I am working on an article about how smart people ended up buying shitcoins – I need some info on why you bought shitcoins (if any). If you choose "other" then can you care to comment on what that other means? Would appreciate if you helped me get an insight!
Thanks in advance.

Well, you may end up with shitcoins if you joined a bounty campaign that doesn't work really good. It's all about the coin management team. And there are also people who really convince others to buy shitcoins.

I think many got in by not understanding what they are going in to and some are just some follower and have nothing in head to do by themselves but friend and group only show them and they believe in it and never try to do their own research , I think some are in for quick money and why they never know what shitcoin are until they get them in and could not hold to it any more.

When I see that token will have no potential, I give it to people, who want to enter the market. They manage to trade it and make worth something.

I have a lot of past ICO tokens and my portfolio lost around 90% on its value. I am waiting for another big Bitcoin drop and I will sell everything and this money I will invest into Bitcoin, then I will pray that Bitcoin will go to the moon again Cheesy.

I did not have enough knowledge to define shitcoins and other coins, but now I have enough of expirience and tons of ERC-20 based tokens.

When the beginning was so convincing and many believed that the coin had high quality, the team had not been able to disperse and was less creative so the coin had become worthless.

Other.

I just want to buy something out of this world. I just bought those coins base on my feeling and there's really no depth research that happened. I did conducted my own research but I usually check the team and some basic info about those coins.

The main reason of why I ended up holding some terrible coins was the white paper, the white paper was very detailed and I believed the coin could actually change the world of cryptocurrencies by offering something that was not available at the time, unfortunately the developers lacked the talent and the skills to make that vision a reality and so the coin failed.

Well I have some from bounties or airdrops but we all don't know what will happen to them in the future...

So I just store them on a shitcoin MEW and will wait what will happen. If it works out, some of them are really good ones and value is high, but if not I won't sell them to waste it for tx costs. Market is down so let's wait and look again in a few years.

Smart people can buy anything, good or bad. But experienced people before you buy, first carefully analyze, and then buy and put a protective stop order

At the beginning of my way with crypto currencies, I have took part in variety of pumping groups and have made a lot of mistakes. The only advice I can give to the newbies, please stay away from any sign of pumping signals.

Previously, there was no such thing; now, because of the diversity, everyone is starting to look for alternatives to their coins and find a lot of garbage at the bottom of the list. And I will not say that this is just a finger to the sky, just the project has not received proper further development, that's all. Now one participant also offers the coin canacoin to everyone.

Fortunately for me, all the tokens I managed to invest never reached the exchange, so I did not need others' mistakes to learn about bad investment calls.

buying it is a stupid thing for me, it will only make loss and deep regrets and disappointments that are not short, I have experienced this, and discomfort appears every time I see a market that continues to spin and throw shitcoin into the abyss, so from that experience, I never bought again, but only followed a few bounties, of course after a long analysis

I've only ever once been stuck bag holding a 'shitcoin' and that was when trying to do a short term trade and the market then moved, normally I would have stop-lossed but bittrex crashed and I was unable to do so at my set price, the price then went much lower and I never felt it worthwhile to sell because there was far more potential upside than downside. Other than that my only shitcoins have been from campaigns or airdrops etc.

people buy them because of the speculative possibilities of these coins. agree because sometimes they give you the opportunity to earn good money
