Thank you for bringing so many very good suggestion at one place! I hope others will find this discussion as helpful as I did, at least. I think, the most important arguments were all mentioned. I will re-open this discussion or open a new one if I experience a change in trends. Thank you for help!
I think that there are some certain things which make the site suspicious but we can never be sure, really.
1. Too good to be true. When the site offers you something very profitable and a lot better than you've seen on other sites.
2. Not very popular. This site seems good but you haven't seen it in some top-10 best sites on something.
3. Poor design and low price of the site which can be checked on some additional sites.

Its hard to say but mostly its gives some signs away such as a weird email-address or a weird location address.
You will know when a site is trying to scam you if it doesn't replies to your queries. Like for example if you have encounter in making a deposit or requesting a withdrawal, of course you will contact their support to solve the problem, if they do nothing within 1-2 days then probably it is a scam.

Aside from the sites security, what I always look at when I am about to deposit in a site is the reviews in the internet. No review, I won't deposit, Negative reviews, well that's a sign that it's not worth it to deposit and do a business with such site.

Or else that impossible to lose thing that you are promoting clearly says that your site is total crap and does want to scam people.
With that "impossible to lose" that you are saying, it is already telling that your site is a total scam.

What I do is very simple, I listen to my guts after reading the signals for a site that claims registration is free then tell me part of the completion process is filling my credit card details, then that is scam. Another way to go is just a simple Google search about the site and my answers are provided even if its only one negative comment out of 50, I am definitely not putting my money there.

If you don't see a secure lock on the top of the web browser that you are using SSL certificate. Then that is one sign that it is likely a scam website if they want you to send a payment of some sort.
I see many ponzi scammer sites using this certificate. It doesn't mean something isn't a scam if uses this lock secure.Very easy to know if a site is scam: when they offer profit very good to be true or if they don't explain clear how their system works and how they get money to pay you back. We don't have many legit investments now, hard to trust sites on the internet to store your money and give you income.
Another aspect to be analyzed, is the source of income of the business, there is sustainability only if there is something being produced.
differences in sites that actually give you the advantage, and the site you want to rip can be seen clearly from the way of promotion. Well, you can see the sites HYIP, they sometimes give you an advantage of more than 100% to prospective investors, so many people are interested.
