Can you involve money for you to stop gambling or a gambler can really stop after he promises that if he wins this jackpot he will stop?
This is for the big-time gambler or those who gamble habitually or even those who have the urge to gamble when they have available money.

I don't think so. Well it is not about how big the money involve for me to stop gambling. Well sometimes it do at some cases, for example you got lucky and won the jackpot I could rather say that it might be the catalyst for you to stop but at some point like you win normally but you don't got the jackpot at some point in time you'll stop like once you got lose.
In the conditions that you win the big jackpot and the money that you earned are enough to start a good business of your own, this kind of setup will be a game changer in terms of dealing with this activities. If you will win big enough then quitting is always a good option to start a new life using those money from the jackpot. The fact that enough money where changes in life take place.

Honestly I don't know like most of the other gamblers, because we may win many times but still wanted to gamble so any amount can't make us to stop from betting but if someone really new to betting but they won in few millions then they might quit gambling for a reason.

May be the need of the people varies and some has some loan or debt to repay or require some extra money for something and some just gamble to pull out hat extra money from gambling, may be that would be one of the reason and that amount could stop them once they achieve it. But more likely greedy behaviour of a person would not prevent them to continue gambling.

Gambling is definitely not something which can help you to repay a loan. If someone is stupid to the extent that he/she starts gambling with that goal, I can guarantee that they would not stop until they lose everything, even if they initially won what they needed.

Most of people's brain stop functioning when they are in a pinch situation, and the first choice they will think is to earn money as soon as possible because the due date of paying that loan or debt is approaching, and this is what you called cramming, people don't feel responsible unless they are facing something hard, and that is paying their debts therefore they went to gambling having a mindset that they could do it for the sake of themselves.

But the result are mostly depressing and turns out the other way which they are not expecting, so instead they will only look for a small amount of money and add it to their cash on hand to pay their debt, they will be in a bigger trouble because they need to look for bigger money to pay their debt.

I don't think they will stop with winning amount, whatever they get, I think they will still gamble. but for me, depending on the initial purpose of gambling, but for me, If I win 100 BTC maybe I will stop gambling.

I believe that a gambler that gets too addicted to gambling any circumstances might happen. It still not going to stop until it meets the end or in short, the end wherein you will realize its regrets. Also gambling can't be considered as way to repay loans and debt, it might also be the reason to worsen the deficit, also don't think that even a gambler wins big money will stop playing I guess its mindset will worsen only because he/she will believe that he/she has a lot of money and can't lose that much and eventually without realizing all the money will vanish in instant.

Let's say you hit the jackpot

Scenario 1 - You continued to gamble even after hitting the jackpot
  • You lose because of the house edge continuously
  • Regret that you stayed and want to recover those winnings
  • Lose more than you afford to lose
  • Cry even more
This is my scenario when I sold my Bitcoin in early 2018 which I bought in 2015. This money would be enough for all my current needs at that time, but I decided to “beat off” the percentage of the commission for withdrawing from the exchange and as a result I lost almost everything in a month, part in alts the rest in dice.

That is a good lesson for yourself, so you don't do the same thing in the future. If you cash out all of your bitcoin in 2018, I am sure that you will have much money that can cover your current needs, and you can save the money for unexpected things that can happen. I think many people are doing the same as you because we don't expect to see the long bear market happens after the last bull market. But this time, we can be sure to save the money when the bull market comes again.

I think this is impossible, because that big gain, usually gets sweet to a man, and only makes his playing worse, and always keeps in mind where he got the money from, and thus puts him back into the stakes. I even think that the opposite helps a man to stop playing, the more he loses gambling, he finds it impossible to win, and so he stops gambling, and whoever takes the big money will again turn to play, for enjoyment, fun, interest
This is what I was thinking also. If I win a large amount of money, I will not stop gambling, but I will just play for entertainment and not for profit so I can enjoy my winnings. But it's almost impossible for me because whenever I win a small amount of money, I will stop betting. And bet again after a few days or even weeks. I am not addicted to gambling, but I will never quit betting because it's part of my life.
If we gamble it doesnt mean we are addicted because there are 2 types of gambler those who play for fun and those who gamble to earn. Gamblers who play for fun is not after money so there's no specific amount that can make you stop unless you find another hobby that is much entertaining than to gamble.

Maybe it is not about money for you but majority of the gamblers are here for the sake of money. They hold this opinion that gambling can become a source of income and some also think it as a profession. Gambling is a game and winning in any game indeed is an amazing, wanted experience but due to the involvement of money and no skills, gamblers do try to make big money from this activity. The more someone wins, the more he wants to play.

But if they want to use gambling as a source of income, they need to have skills besides luck, and they need to choose the gambling games, which is not for luck only so they will have a chance to win. Yes, we know that many gamblers are playing gambling because of the winning money, and that will attract more people to come to the gambling industry. They will have a big hope to win much money in once, and then they will stop gambling, but that is not possible to get because gambling is not for making money.

Bitcoin FTW!
I realistically won't ever stop gambling, though I'll consider gambling less if I do ever happen to win some sort of major jackpot, though this is extremely unlikely for me personally because I'm not a fan of buying lottery tickets or jackpot-style gambing; I typically play crash with a small bet and I also bet a medium amount of money on esports gambling, though I never put very much on underdogs and even if I do win an underdog bet, it's usually not a lot. I've always found it a fun activity to do, and unless something comes up that makes me lose my interest in gambling, I'll keep gambling for a while.

Most people won't stop even after winning a major jackpot partially because of greed, and I expect greed would affect me at least a little bit if I ever happened to win as well, though I won't think too much about it 'till it happens, if it ever does.

I think you should determine on how much you have to win to stop. Because if you don't know how much or you don't have an idea when you should stop, this is going to the point of addiction.

Winning millions with gambling is a very rare case, I would actually quit if that happens to me although there were gamblers that experienced this. I wonder on how they're doing right now.

It's possible of course, if a gambler win like millions from gambling, I think there is no reason anymore to see for money in gambling, unless that person is so greedy that he want to win it all or beat the house, which is impossible. Once a gambler won that big amount of money, its always possible that he can also loss it all back in the long run, so stopping is really necessary.

If that happened to me that I won a big amount, I would certainly enjoy my life with doing things I want, like exploring and traveling the world, leaving a life less stressful is the success we can get for being a successful gambler, so there's no need to push myself to gamble again, i might do it on occasional basis only.

There is no limit of winnings that will make an addicted gambler to stop gambling. People need money. Once they have enough money, they will again want more money since no matter how much money someone has, they kinda still wants more. Again, if you do have lets say a shit loads of money, you will still gamble because you have lots of money and you can afford to lose it. You enjoy the adrenaline rush during the whole time of gambling!
The only way to stop gambling is to quit without any kind of excuses.

This is the case that a person become addicted into gambling. A person once addicted into gambling and experience of winning it cannot stop him to continue playing. There is a big chance to stop if there is a discipline and determination to overcome the addiction.
I don't think this is addiction because I am not addicted to it,honestly I didn't try any bets in recent times so you can find that I am not an addict but its something more called greediness it could exist on anyone most probably everyone so we can't satisfy ourselves even if we won a big amount.

Scenario 2 - You quit after winning profit.
  • You go home elated
  • That is it

It's discipline, and you need to consider everything when it comes to the right decisions. It's better to have control over your emotions too. Be considerate and think things through.
Easy to say but this is the most common thing where most gamblers do fail to follow on which is on being contended on what they do have won.
They do think always that what if they would able to win jackpot again if they do continue to play? This would be definitely the mindset
of majority thats why im not really surprised for those people who do able to hit jackpot and become broke once again.

Some people gamble for fun and not really on addiction. It is easier for this kind of people just set that type of target and withdraw, I know about people who were able to restrict from a Ponzi scheme when they met up with their desired target.while those who could not control their  appetite ended up a victim.gamble addict may not be able to abide by their promise to stop. If only they change environment and they are away from it.
