My money is reserved for my family and I only gamble with my excess money so to not compromise the needs of my family. Sometimes, I don't gamble if my budget is short.

If many people can do like what you did, I think they can avoid becoming addicting to gambling. They will prioritize their family first, and make sure their family can get what they need. After that, if they still have money, they can use that money to gamble. If someone really cares about his family, he will give more attention to them, and he will not use that money to gamble or something that he doesn't need. But if he wants to play gambling, he will use only a little money to gamble and give the rest of his money to his family.

If the majority of the people will be like that, I guess there would not be as many casinos, online and actual, as we have today. There would also be lesser bitter and unfortunate gambling stories shared and passed around. This must be the case in Arab countries where gambling is strictly prohibited.

It should be that way, never to gamble using money that is budgeted for your family or for any more important matters. Use spare money and treat
things as reward for your everyday work, those excess amount that can be forget if ever you lose your game.
Keep things in the right position and let your personal savings away from your gambling activities.

My family is my top priority and there’s no exact amount of capital for my gambling its just depend on my mood most of the time but still on a budget. Gambling should be set aside at least priority because its not good to make this your priority and your family might get mad at you because of this. Gamblers should know how to value time, and how to manage time, know also how to spend your money this is really important.
Indeed. Just to add, when you are gambling your money, you should assume that money might be gone after you gamble thus you won't possibly get miserable at the end. Also, you have to make sure that money you're gambling with is your spare money; meaning you can sustain in the long run without that money without adjusting because you lose it. Once these qualification has been passed, then you may gamble that particular money and hopefully you win thus you may now buy your wants in life.
that is why you need not to assume winning every time you play.for how many times i did it in the past same situation has happen so better not to look back to win every time you lose to prevent losing more .

I've never split money for gambling this way, I only gamble with some money I'll not use, and just for fun
If some people do this, maybe it's time to think if it's not addicted to gambling and spending more money than it should

if you have limited income then stop having those gambling thoughts because it will only burden your life, instead focus on your rightful living..this message came from a former addict and advising what we don't have to experience.
It's not like this, I think people can game but spend very small amount for gambling if you have no concern to use gambling as a main income resource. I think being small Earner you should think first about your family and then think about gambling with spare amount only. I use to spend 30 percent on gambling purposes and save 70 percent for my family.

It's dumb for not making the family a top priority. Gambling is always there, If you wanted to be entertained or have fun, it will never leave. But your family, if you didn't prioritize them they will feel sad and there are worst emotional situations that might happen.

I hope there are no people who give more attention to gambling than the needs of his/her family. If this kind of situation continues, that person will be addicted and it'll be hard for him to recover and it will end to broken relationships.
Before I allocate more of my money in gambling rather than for my family and then I realize that it is more important ,my family has more value than anyhing else, since I gamble I always make a savings when I won the game. So I think larger amount is will be given to the family and then atleast 40% to all others.

30% seems to be big for me as well. I'll gamble only if I have spare and if I have fulfilled already most of my responsibilities and obligations during that month. But if I have something to pay and I want to gamble, it depends on how I'll manage it. A small portion of that will do as long as I have an upcoming money that will be used for that and I'll exchange the money that I've used as I gamble. If you want to gamble and you have priorities, just manage how to budget it and control yourself.

30% of income for gambling? It is quite big for me too, but perhaps his income is so big every month so he can spend that much.
I myself wont spend more than 10% of my income, it is better to safe than sorry later.
At least I will only spend some amount that wont affect my family needs if I lose it. Family should be priority while gambling is just like a killing time activity when I get bored with daily activities.
It's quite big for most here but I guess it's also a fact that there are people that are okay gambling with this percentage. If that 30% is already okay to him and it doesn't affect his priority then it's his money after all. He can gamble as much as he can as long as he won't go broke after losing that amount.

Actually if a person is addicted to gambling and he can't let a day passed by without him playing gambling, 30% is so little, to be honest, he is willing to risk his 100% of income just to earn as much as possible in gambling that is always turning to be the opposite of what he wanted. The next thing that will happen is that he will never have an income, instead he will have a pile of debt because of his addiction, he is earning money but he is using it all to pay his debts.

That is better, so you don't have to spend some amount of money every week or month. Besides that, you can control yourself and only play gambling when you want, and that can help you to avoid the addicting to gambling. Gambling is one activity that doesn't need more time to play if you don't want to lose your money, and it is better to take care of your family.

There is no specific amount of money that is needed for gambling because it will depend on your own living. If you are rich then you will spend more money on it and vice versa.

I agree, because once you set an amount of money that you will use in gambling, and you lose it, you will add some more and more until you are satisfied, that being said, the amount of money that is being use in gambling by gamblers is unlimited as long as they have a supply of it, once it runs out, they would stop and continue the other day, or maybe next week, it depends.

Why? because of our wants, as long as we have the urge to play gambling, the wants of us in terms of money will continuously increase until we got broke, or we learned our lessons about it.

Personally, I don't take gambling to the extent of assign a proportion of my income to it as is just something I do not on a regular basis and it not my major source of income. I mostly gamble with an amount of money that I believe will not affect my day to day financial responsibility.
That is good for you and I hope that most of the gamblers out there are like you.

Some of the gamblers out there can sacrifice anything as long as they can gamble. Worse, there are some gamblers who are selling their properties or even their cars just to have money to gamble or to pay the lender. This is a bad strategy for the gamblers. Worst is they are sacrificing the needs of their family for the sake of gambling. At first, why did they make a family if it is not their main priority. If you create your own family, make sure that it will be your main priority over others like gambling etc.

I use some part of my earning in gambling and spare the other to fulfil my family's needs as 30 percent of my income i use for gambling and keep other cash safe for needs of my family.
^ In my part, 30% is a quite big amount to spare in gambling. Because my monthly salary is an average wage is just enough for my family and sometimes I gamble when I have extra money. But now, I can earn here in the forum and I enjoy gambling especially esports betting and poker online. Probably 5% is just enough and I can afford to gamble from my monthly salary. Always put in the top of your priority is your family before anything else and gambling is always there. Nevertheless, upon reading the earliest replies, I saw that they are choosing their family first than gambling.

because I am a person who considers gambling for fun, so I will not set aside income for gambling. of course I'm someone who isn't addicted so I can play anytime when I have unexpected money to play gambling.
if you look at games and rounds there is quite a lot of free money from gambling sites, and I always use that moment to play gambling.

We don't have to, but we can. I, for one, gamble almost every day, but I rarely lose more than $1 in the process. It's all about how big your stakes should be. In some countries even $1 is a good money, and people who live there should think first, "Can I buy something for the members of my family with the money I'm going to spend on gambling?" And the most dangerous way of thinking is something like "I will triple my money through gambling, and then I will buy presents for my family!"
Yes, some people think like that, and some others don't think like that. They need to take care of their family first before they decide to gamble, but unfortunately, many people won't do this, and they play gambling even with big money. For people who can think about family, they will not spend their money, and they will consider doing something for their family. $1 can be good money to buy something in some country but the reality, people sometimes don't think like that.

Yeah mate it’s our responsibility to look after our family as well if we will spend all money on gambling then what Will they eat and how they will reach their expedience so I use some part of my earning in gambling and spare the other to fulfil my family's needs as 30 percent of my income i use for gambling and keep other cash safe for needs of my family.
I guess that you can reduce the percentage to play gambling, maybe you only need 5%-10% to play gambling. Then you can fulfill your family needs, while you can also saving the money for another thing. We cannot deny that we need to have cash for urgent matters because our life will change every day, and that will not be the same every day.
