I already seen this betting things on election few times before in some websites and they are really offering high odds, although I never tried looks interesting to bet especially if you are a US resident because you exactly know who is the leading candidate based on your friends and neighbors and speculations from other locations this is not so popular for now especially to some small countries but time may come it will be one of the most entertaining events we can join especially if they include local politicians based on our locations.

I heard politics betting, but I just try it once because I just want to know what is the feeling when you are betting to some people ( like what is the excitement about it and the entertainment that it will give).
We're different, there is also a thread inside our local board where everyone can join this kind of betting game, it's a senatorial election by the way, but I refuse to join. Though I know some about politics, I still refuse to bet because of the wide range of candidates, it scares me that I might possibly have a small chance of winning which result to money lose (I really hate losing money because I know the feeling of difficulty earning it).
But like in typical gambling game you are happy when your candidate won, but the worst part is when your candidate doesn't fulfill he/she promises on his/her speech. Smiley
Even you win few dollars from such game, you are still considered a loser because the candidate you voted is either corruptvor useless at all. *Sigh Sad life, I know what you feel because until now I can't feel our economy is rising.

We haven't seen PredictIt mentioned on this thread yet. They are a politics-only prediction market, for US only, I believe. They have a special permit to run in the US, but there is a maximum stake per user per market (around 500 USD?). No crypto accepted, and no sign-ups for users outside the US, but some pretty liquid markets, and a lot of depth on US politics. Definitely worth browsing.

I feel this is more of a marketing attempt by many casinos than any real excitement of sports betting.
Yeah its a new way to grab people's attention. Last US election cleared so many things. IMO Online marketing means a lot for politician now. political parties can easily spread their agendas through online rather than making seminars on different states. That's the reason why Hillary and Trump were so much active on social medias during last election. Sometime this kinda marketing is really useful and can make a big difference.

I never bet on Politics, I do like betting on "events" such as the Eurovision Song Contest for example and have made some good money there - simply because it cannot be compared to "usual" sports betting and the bookies dont have as much information - value all the way Smiley
Well you cant bet on the bookie's knowledge that much unless you them personally. I dont but you might be talking about your local bookie, but what I know is that never consider the bookie as less knowledgeable that you because it is a good bluff to get gamblers into betting. A bookie would not open their shop if they were going to lose more.

Well, I don't play politics bet because political position is not something that is on a regular basis and in as much as I am a gamblers I only concentrate on the one I know how to do best and not to be jack of all trades and Master of none.
I would say that political competitions are often biased and logically made. Although the concept of paid winning of politics is not proven in many elections - it will never be so, I feel this is more of a marketing attempt by many casinos than any real excitement of sports betting.

I haven't tried betting on it before, mostly coz I live outside America and I can't find anyone to bet with. I haven't really checked if crypto betting sites hold bets for our elections.

@OP that would have taken guts to bet on Trump in 2016 considering most surveys say Hillary would win. But that really would have made you money had you followed through.

Even I never come cross crypto betting on politics, it is completely new one which I have never seen before. Most of the reviews given to Trump in 2016 were completely negative, but finally, Trump won in the 2016 elections. Betting on Politics is really new one to me.

Maybe there will be for 2020 once the Democrats get their lineup fixed. Might bet on Trump. He's definitely not an underdog now but considering the scandals with censorship, that these media companies are actively trying to hinder him, I'm betting that there'll be enough outrage against it that people who aren't particularly fond of him might vote for him, just coz they dislike these tech giants.

Politics itself is a game, but not really a game of luck in every country. in advanced countries like the USA and China it is still easier to predict with higher chances after manifesto.well, in some countries like mine where your prediction is right and after election, the winner is deprived of the position.it is very dangerous and violent to go gambling about it. so i don't do it at all.

What do you mean deprived of the position? Like the winning candidate don't even get to sit or they immediately remove him/her with a coup? If the politics in the country is that intense, I wouldn't be gambling about it. Heck, I'd probably not make my political opinions public and might not even show up at the polls. Stay safe there bud.

This is one reason. I think betting in politics should be p2p, physical betting with neighbours .

How often do you bet on Politics? Any reason why most people don't really bet on Politics? Do you know any trusted betting site that offers good odds in American Politics?

I think politics is not an everyday, hour, minutes occurrence like games that are frequent. This is a major reason to me. Gamblers bet on happenings even if they are stage managed.

There is a pretty big amount being wagered on whether Trump will retain his presidency or not in Fairlay at the moment and these kind of bets are worth looking into, but lots of patience is required. I think Trump will retain his title.

By the way the idea on gambling on politics is good one and this can be applied on the gambling on the celebrities too.  We can gamble like how much dollars the next Hollywood movie will do the business and  this will be interesting betting option.
What you mentioned is already available on sites like Bodog. For example, you can vote for the actors that you think will win in the upcoming Primetime Emmy awards.

I am never interested in politics so the question of politics is just out of the question for me.

I have never done political gambling.
In my opinion this is truly unique to do, but who are the strong candidates in this matter. In which countries do the voting now? I do not know the political information here. So, it is difficult for me to try to bet on politics.
That's what happens, because there isn't always about elections which make gambling on politics not always available at all times. So, how often do we gamble on politics I think the answer will not be much different, because this gambling will be available when the election season is in progress so it can be said we are very rarely to gamble in politics and never even.
Now i know why it is not too popular since the election will only happen during the election season. Though i've never done gambling before with these political people during the election but it's still good to know that everywhere gambling did exist for the sake of money. Grin

I don't know whether bet on politics exist in any of the gambling site though I stand to be corrected by whoever has come across it in the past and have participated in it. If actually such exist then it will the most easiest way to win since it is not that difficult to identify who will win an election and who will lose the election.

It actually exists. I have come across one. I think it is a Blockchain/Ethereum based platform called augur or something. This is their Twitter Handle: https://mobile.twitter.com/AugurProject?p=s
The fiat-based politic gambling probably exists too but I have never come across one myself except the Crypto-based augur.

I have never in my life placed a bet on politics. I wanted to bet on Hilary Clinton to win the elections vs Trump a few years ago and we all know how that turned out so it is a good thing that I didn't. For those who like politics and have inside knowledge it can be a good opportunity to make a nice bonus.
You are so lucky that you didn’t, I have someone that lost his money on that election. It was crazy. We all called Trump a clown and a business man that is not fit to be the president of but then the end result was amazing and today he is doing so well as the president.

I also don’t gamble on politics, it’s quite risky but comes with big rewards, aside the risk, I am not really very good with politics, I don’t even enjoy the discussion but those who are will definitely make money from here. Politics gambling is most definitely among the most played and most profitable gambling, I have close friends that have made money from this gambling and it is impressive.
Not losing is nothing special in gambling and not worth celebrating, if you say he is lucky not to have played, don’t forget he would have probably won if he did and for the person who lost, I believe there is another day to recover, so you should ever laugh at another player’s misfortune in gambling. I placed a bet on that election also and I lost, it didn’t even affect me in anyway, after all I only gambled what I could spare, there is definitely no way the money would still be there if I didn’t gamble, I would have used it on other things by now.

I gamble on politics anytime there is an opportunity to do so. It doesn’t come often but can be interesting, I am a fan of politics gambling.

I am from the Philippines so placing a bet on the politics from another country would be hard however here in my country its quite predictable on who will win in politics most specially if its a local election. Go for those that are being endorsed by huge groups that votes in block voting, the chances of winning is big even if the opponent buy votes.
Yes if there wouldbe a site where we could gamble on politics from Philippines we could easily win on our bets.
I hate to admit it but most of our fellow countryman would only vote those who are well known or famous they don't care about the candidates platform or plans as long as the candidate is famous they would vote him/her.

That would be our tips just in case politics betting will start. But it looks too far from happening, people will never consider it to be part of the game and I don't think so. Politics is the dirtiest game ever and I don't see a fair play in here which also be fair for gamblers.
Of course, gamblers will put their bets into the person(as the hint above), and the question is have someone will place their bets to the opponents of the said person? It for sure nobody. Then it seems to be useless if we have these betting.
