Corruption isn't bound to countries and organizations, there is corruption in each and every country and each and every organization in the world, it is just that some are hidden and some are known by the public, those that come in front of the public are shamed and those who are hidden are never known. These kinds of incidents where people are asked for money for the roles that they are assigned or deserve to get happens almost every day.

Such people are barely known by the public because those who are asked for bribes never reveal these things to the public because they know the ones asking for money are in power and if they come to know about what they did, they might never allow them to get into the position ever.

You are right, mate, it's not just tied to one country, and for those countries where such news is not heard, there's no assurance that such corruption is not going on there. The truth is that some of those things are done secretly, so no one will disclose them, and even if you disclose the information to some people, they will not believe you because they can think that you are only trying to paint the organisation black. Also, when one is in this kind of situation, one has no other option but to pay and move on to the next stage. There's one celebrity whose autobiography I read, and she said she was only acting in some movies that did not put her name in the public eye, but that during the shooting of one interesting movie, she had to pay for the role she chose to play in that movie, and from there, she started receiving requests to be featured in some movies.

I don't know if you remember that when the QATAR game, well specifically the first game they played with Ecuador, there was a lot of speculation that the Qataris told the Ecuadorians that they were going to give them such a large amount of money that it would insure their lives and that of their families only after they let Qatar win, there was a lot of speculation almost for the first game, where Ecuador obviously won, this is something that impressed me , at least it impressed me , because I never knew if that was true or not.

This became a very strong rumor where it obviously caught the attention of the first World Cup match, these things usually get everyone's attention because when it comes to football and important matches, things in the world focus there and how is it done afterwards? Things in the world of football have put a lot of magnifying glass on it , since the things they did were discovered or came out, the corruption associated with the Blatter era that turned everything into a great revelation of things.

We as football fans know very well that things in football are still handled with some corruption, I think about VAR a lot more now that what they say cannot be made public , or what they say to the referee, we as humans make many mistakes, and those mistakes are easy to detect through technology, for this reason it is very delicate , I have faith and hope that possible cases of corruption can be fixed and dissuaded over time .

Honestly, I have no Idea if he will miss his team and the country will miss him. It depends how you look at this whole situation. I can tell you that if I were asked by a country to lead their team as captain, I'd to it and move, even if i was a low level player in my own country. Him playing for France is an achievement, especially in financial aspect, because he'd never be able to earn comparable money playing for Cameroon.
Bribes are more popular in lower leagues and in poor countries. I think that it's great the he didn't go for it and chose to migrate.

I have heard similar stories in my country, and it's also for both for the movie and music industries too. stories like you have to pay money before you can be allowed to act some roles in the movie scene. I believe that those stories might not be lies, but if that's true, such a situation could only be common among up-coming footballers, and it's not right to request such a bribe before allowing them to perform. Although they are still good players, when they become very successful and popular players, they will still make more money than they have spent.

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?
Of course it was Cameroon who lost Mbappe, because you can see how he influenced the result in the world cup final when France was in a stalemate. He was the first player to break the deadlock and managed to make the match have to go through on penalties even though in the end France lost, so you can see how strong the player's determination is.
If the story is true, it's not unusual because there are always official officials who prioritize money over sports development, because being a corrupt official will make them financially secure even though it will cause big losses for many people, and always poor countries are filled with officials with such a stupid mindset that it becomes difficult for the country to develop including sports because it loses the big opportunity to have a great player like Mbappe. There are countries with limited human resources such as athletes who will provide good facilities for any athlete who excels to move to become their citizen but more countries waste golden opportunities because of corrupt officials

Hey guys, reading little story on Kylian Mbappe who on Thursday visited Cameroon on a charity with the deaf and other familiarization visit to his father's home town. He spoke with Joseph Dion Ngute, the Cameroon's Prime Minister, he was honoured visiting and I believe this is just like the humanitarian work some influential people do

But one striking revelation was that he would have been a cameroonian player if they weren't asking his father to pay them money before allowing him to play while he still trying to fix his career and French allowed him without payment.

Quote
"At first, I wanted my son to play for Cameroon, but someone at the Cameroonian Football Federation charged me money that I didn't have to make him play," he explained. " The French charged nothing."

I have also heard of some local stories about how some coaches require money from new footballers before they allow them on trier both in their clubs and national teams. Is this happening globally for new players who are still seeking to find a spot in clubs?

Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?

People would always look down on you when they feel you have nothing to offer, but then come running to you when they find you beneficial to them, and that's what happened in mbappe's case and it's so unfortunate that the Cameroonian Football Federation missed out on one of the greatest football player of our time, well maybe it's his fate to play for the France team and I don't think he would had gotten this far if he played for Cameroon.
The rule of Football doesn't encourage bribe or permit people tip a coach to be featured in a match or accepted into a team but some individuals especially those in 3rd class countries collect bribes from players to feature them into their squad, I've also heard of stories where talented players are rejected by some scouts or coaches because they lack funds to bribe their way into the team which is not right.
Due to this corrupt act by some officials in most 3rd class countries, many talented players had to relocate to other countries where they're tried fairly and merit a spot to play and showcase there talent just like the case of mbappe.

Difficult as it is, it is not Cameroon's problem but that of their corrupt officials who are making some of today's star players not want to feel and become Cameroon national team players.
For Cameroon actually not only Mbappe but there are several other players who could have defended the national team and in the end refused.
Mbappe's colleagues in the French national team Tchouameni and Wiliam Saliba also have the same blood which in the end is in France now there could be the same reason like that.

Corrupt officials end up depriving the country of valuable assets for football player.
Yes, it's only done by individuals and officials, so it's normal when you see football in a country that is not developing advanced, of course there is something in the regulations that makes it difficult for talented players to join and play, maybe Mbappe and several others are just one of the published ones. There could be other players who may be players with potential too but find it difficult to enter the national team.

Usually in countries that are more advanced and free of corruption there will always be convenience for the requirements to enter the national team and even assisted in the naturalization process for moving countries so that it is not complicated, like this this will set an example for a great and more advanced national team, in my country since the replacement of the football board it has been much better.
Mbappe and some other players who are exposed are those who have good careers and of course we also have the thought of clay in this case because only a few are exposed then things like will be very much not exposed especially for careers that are not as brilliant as Mbappe and some players I mentioned earlier.

It is difficult when corruption has become a culture for a country so it is indeed like a mafia action that is organized because it is not just one party involved but all parties and even much bigger than we imagine.

It is difficult to change things like this if there is no awareness from all parties and with this, some officials who are like this by only wanting personal gain, conditions such as corruption or anything related to public benefits will falter.

[....]Do you think Cameroun miss Mbappe or it is Mbappe that missed Cameroun ?
The answer should be obvious.
Mbappe also said Cameroon was calling and giving him citizenship so....

I thought maybe some fake representative is trying to scam them but doesn't seem to be the case. I cannot find any article where officials from the Cameroon Football Federation denying the allegations so it's probably true.
Valid argument , as how sure they are that the one asks them to pay money is truly from the inside team or just someone who wanted to take advantage of the situation as he has a issue about citizenship things that somehow is what becomes the problem from the other side.
though we are not certain about that then they must clear that in cameroon because that is a Huge allegation and they need to prove that or else they will be in bad situation if cameroon file them a case.

Looks like this is because globally there are lots of prospects who wanted to play badly and the coaches and staff are taking advantage of the situation so they will just use their authority to make money from these young players. Well! this is true when you look at their statements from different parts of the world because this is an indication that they are impossible to lie together about these things. Most likely the coaches are the luckiest on the team because aside from his salary, they can also get money with this kind of sideline. Poor young players who needed to do this just to showcase their talents, this should not be happening.
The association should punish people who only want to profit from it. But that seems difficult because those people are so well organized that it's hard for the authorities to track them down. And it also seems that some authorities protect those who carry out this practice so that their activities are still running well. Meanwhile, talented young players could not join because many of them did not have the money to join.

Skill will always impose itself over corrupt structures and this is just one more example of this, if those at the top use their power to suppress the talented people under the command then those people once they understand there is no future for them on that structure will simply leave.

And once they are part of a structure which cares about nothing else but they performance they will shine, and put in ridicule all of those people that hindered them.
In such countries if the talented person don't have access to leave the country his talent will be a waste because he wasn't given a chance to excel. I have seen that so many times down here in my country. That is why you see that the coach was after money thinking that without him Mbappe will not shine but he forgot that he is not God and can't stop the destiny of Mbappe. There are so many quality players in Africa that because of bribe, these players are not lucky to show case their talent to the world, and they are ravishing in poverty. Maybe those ones that are not lucky was not destiny to be a footballer.
Without a doubt there are soccer players out there which were unable to overcome those corrupt structures as they did not had the right options available to them, however when the skill level of a person reaches a very high point then sooner or later the doors will open to them.

And someone of the caliber of Mbappe would have found an opportunity to shine elsewhere, as those that know about soccer would have seen his enormous potential and will not allow it to go to waste.

That's the sad reality of life, not only in sports but other industries as well.
Some people are getting their position owed to bribery, as there will be officials that are prone to corruption.
But if you are good enough, you will find your way to achieve what you want in life, just like Mbappe.
He proved that he has the skills but is now representing other country, which is willing to accept him even without the bribe.
It is like a slap in the face for those people that who didn't accept him because he had no money. That's a good revenge though.

It's not that surprising anymore because this is happening almost everywhere in this world, no matter what industry you are trying to go, there are chances that they will ask you for some money for a fee that doesn't really exist. Even receipts doesn't exists in this kind of scenario, you will just give what they wanted in-exchange for the hopes that you will be given the time that you wanted to perform in your chosen industry.

Bribery has been around us for generations now, tough to say but it became tradition already even if it's a bad practice.

OP: Behind the players, there are usually managers who have seen their talent early on and "hire" them as prospects from a very early age, around these parts they are called scouts or in simple words headhunters, there are them in any sport, but mainly soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.

These scouts offer parents money to play for their teams with very limited contracts in the future, but in the short term the amount ($) offered for a player which is not known to become a professional, it is so tempting even if they are a few dollars that because of their social conditions they take them.

Then these same scouts depending on the player and his talent begin to "promote" him, paying coaches if necessary so that these guys are always playing.

Sometimes really the question is how much talent is left in the shadows because they're not lucky enough to have this promotion or a parent or scouts do the right thing.

That's why people with skills feel better off going from place to place where skills are appreciated and can get paid well. This has happened in many countries with human resources, but the government or regulators seem to complicate their desire to be part of them, so they decide to leave and look elsewhere. And it turns out that their presence in other places can help them to get to the peak of their career quickly without hindrance because they have more reliable abilities so that their presence can change the position of the company that hired them. This is a slap in the face for the people who have rejected it because they can never get it again.

This is nothing out of the ordinary, it's true and happening across all borders and sectors, the issue of bribery is not something that is peculiar to government, football alone, it's very much circulated, even in the music industry, many of the very popular and powerful music artiste we enjoy their songs today, once upon a time, paid a hefty fee to organizers of a show, so as to be given a chance to perform on that show.
As unfortunate as it looks, it's how the system has been configured for many.

The answer is obvious mate, mbappe is one of the best players in the whole world for me, Infact, after Messi, I consider Mbappe the next big player, imagine what cameroon national team would have been like if they had a player like Mbappe, of course they missed a great opportunity, a golden player as a result of their greed.
