Assuming I've made up my mind to hold on to a token for many years but after a year this token hit a new ATH what should I do as a newbie? Sell or not sell?
there is no denying that an investor buys coins and makes them an asset for the long term only to get a price that is much more expensive than the initial price when buying. so if you buy a coin and it's only been a few months since the coin reached a new ATH, it might be better if you sell it you get a 100%-200% profit. and after selling the coin maybe you have to wait a few days or months to buy again at a low price and you hold it until the price reaches ATH again.

but it's all up to you to sell your coins or not. because all decisions and risks are only you who bear it

it depends what situation it has mate, i mean you really need to keep updated so that you know when to sell or if its still a good decision to hold..  It's all up to you and the real situation of the token you're holding, so always be aware if you have such plan.

Well if he can get the best price at the top then it's no problem if he wants to sell since crypto can down a lot after it reaches its ATH. But we never know the ATH and the movement market right so if you invest in something it's better to have your own strategy, own your target sell so you will be grateful for what you did and even if you didn't get the best price when selling your assets just make it your experience and get better next time.

I think to survive holding coins for many years the main thing is to choose the best coin, I think bitcoin is the main choice, and if we plan for the long term then bitcoin becomes the safest coin, because if bitcoin goes down, other altcoins will not safe. especially during a bearish season like today, collecting bitcoins will be more profitable, because we will get more profits.
If it is possible for more options, then it is also better now to collect good coins other than Bitcoin, such as Ethereum and BNB which often experience an increase in price when Bitcoin starts to gradually pump into the market. So Ethereum and BNB are also very good choices if you want to be dedicated for the long term and also for future investments.
While Bitcoin remains the top choice in this regard, but the rest wouldn't be a bad thing to collect at this point either.

if indeed you have an assumption to hold the coin for many years then rest assured that the coin will give you such a large profit in the future.

even though you have benefited from the coins you hold in a period of only a few months or a year, remain confident and stick to your original goal of long-term investment.
nothing is short in reaching a success because the holder is the real winner.

When our coin price hit new ATH, i think we should sell it because it would have correction after hit new ATH.
As long as we sell with profit, i think it is OK to sell. Many people does the opposite, they panic sell because the coin price drop.
To grow our wallet, we should buy and sell with higher price than we buy it, our wallet will steady growing although with slow pace.

I agree, we should sell if it hits ATH and we make a profit. If it is a good coin, you can sell at ATH and then wait until it corrects to buy back.

We are here to make a profit so it is never wrong to sell for a profit. If it's shitcoins then don't ever buy them back after sold, with shitcoins it's very hard to repeat the ATH over and over again. For wallet growth, you should focus mainly on top coins like bitcoin, ethereum... only hold and buy when the price is low, and sell when the price is high. Your wallet is getting bigger and bigger.

There are many ways to grow your wallet.
if you have sufficient funds, you can start by buying some potential assets for long-term investment, meaning you have to be patient to hold coins even in a bear market situation like this.
if you don't have enough funds, you can start with a bounty campaign and airdrop, learn and follow the project. if you can find a good project, it can also grow your wallet but it is also a process and you have to be patient.

The easiest way to grow our wallet is indeed by long-term investment in some potential coins. Because all we need to do is buy and let the coins
we have in our personal wallets for a long time. So when we look at it again in the next few years the value of our assets will be very high,
and if we sell our coins it can make us rich. The problem is that not all coins are good for long-term investments, so the first thing we have to do is
make sure we buy coins that have a good future, by doing research and analysis. Usually top coins are a good choice for long-term investments,
especially in a bear market situation like now is the right time to buy some top coins for long-term investment. Another thing to note when growing
our wallet, we must have patience, because it might take a long time, until finally our wallets can contain assets that are of very high value.

First of all what token are you referring to dude? you didn't mention what it was. But if you think you have an income at least and you are satisfied with that income, then sell it first if you are happy there. But if you're hesitant, it's better not to sell right now, it's just that simple. And if you're referring to Bitcoin, and you don't need that much money yet, it's better to hold on to it for a few more months and observe the current market movements.

Then what are you planning to do right now? do you have a token in your wallet? or do you have funds in your wallet but you don't have a token to keep it? it is better to buy first and think about what coins you will invest in.

Assuming I've made up my mind to hold on to a token for many years but after a year this token hit a new ATH what should I do as a newbie? Sell or not sell?

If you already have an altcoin that has improved and have found a new Ath then it is very good and the right choice is to sell it immediately. and I'm sure those altcoins will come back down in time. and if you still have faith in the altcoin then you can buy it back. so you can benefit from 2x trades. because many altcoins that have reached new ATH will fall back down and if the altcoins are good they will definitely rise again until they find new ATH again in the future. example bitcoin every year has a new ATH.

You need to have a good set of plan before taking your decision, investing with good crypto assets is, really

profitable. As long as you can adjust with each market movement, you can grow your wallet in terms of buying low and selling high
then repeat the setup and learn more to enhance your chances to gain more success.

Not an easy task, but if you are really keen, there's always a good chance for you to succeed. The market is volatile and choosing
between short and long holdings is always your own decision making.

I recommend staying away from memes and hype coins as they can be fatal to the loss of your investment.
Sure, It would be foolish to invest in shitcoins or memes at this time.  The bear market will be the place to screen and kill the weak, fraudulent projects so stay away from them. But investing in top tokens should also be careful as we know not all top tokens will recover to old ATH. As we have seen in the past, most of the top tokens have been replaced with new ones over the years. Therefore, be cautious during this period.

One thing I will say at such a time is that if you are a holder then never rely on any one token or coin. The reason is that the loss can be more than the profit, and if you believe in a coin, it is better to sell it if there is a small profit. And if you hold 3-4 tokens, you will never lose. Because even if one token is lost, the other will make up for it, so if you hold more than one coin, you can gain a lot in the future. Hopefully .

If the token you have at the moment can reach a new ATH then never maintain it again and you just sell it because the achievement of ATH will not last long so sell it as soon as possible so that you can feel the profit of the token, if you continue to maintain and want to get a bigger profit then I will worry if it cannot be achieved and regrets will definitely occur.

It's wise to sell it when the value is high because you may not get such opportunity in the future. The reason people hold altcoin is basically to profit from them and once you have the profit, move to stable coin, to buy back when the value is much lesser, if you so much believe in the project. Don't be blinded by the promises of the team or developers. You should also diversify to include bitcoin in your portfolio and other more promising altcoin.

If you hold tokens for years and get tokens to get new ATH then best thing to do is to release assets to get benefits as long as you keep tokens, if you don't release tokens then next moment of ATH might take a long time so you will lose time while holding the token and when you have released the asset you have to buy back the token when ATH is done and get a low price so such a long term investment model is worth it as long as the token has a good project.

I have a problem
I do not know how to really increase the security of my wallet. Can you help me with this?
What wallet are you using?
Increasing wallet security actually depends on your side. Lots of tips have been shared about this in this forum, I only found 1 thread by Charles-Tim (which I think) explains it well. How to secure crypto wallets.
If you have anything else in doubt about wallet security, just open a separate thread in the Beginners & help board.

The market is unpredictable so taking profit is always the right choice. you can sell when it hits ATH and just wait for it to drop in price you can reinvest if you think its a good coin.
All price movements in the altcoin market are very dynamic and only the top altcoins can be relied on for long term investment, so I agree with the strategy of selling them on ATH as the first profit target because the price of the coin can drop 20-50% depending on the impact of the crypto market, when the price drops then you can define analysis for a new plan for the same altcoin if you make sure that the altcoin is included in the potential list. I recommend staying away from memes and hype coins as they can be fatal to the loss of your investment.

You should sell if it's an altcoin or shit token, because you won't know what it will be like tomorrow. The market is unpredictable so taking profit is always the right choice. you can sell when it hits ATH and just wait for it to drop in price you can reinvest if you think its a good coin.
Make investments based on specific plans and goals, rather than based on your imagination and emotions, as this can lead to wrong decisions.
