If I think if we want to know which good coins we have to see how they travel, and we have to know whitpaper and plan plan we also have to see the project is sure / real for the coin is good for the potential
You should refer to some sites that evaluate ico. Some crypto experts, they review and rate very much about those ico. Application as well as the crypto platform is important thing to care about.

You need to research and check first the whitepaper because it is the determinant of a project's seriousness where it should have comprehensive , thorough and explains the technology and the purpose of the coin itself. Other assets that need to be consider are videos, blog post and other contribution from the team of it's developers. Lastly, it should have it's own blockchain where they can launched there ICO to the market.
Check the total supply of the project coin, do proper research, also check out the community if it's lively.

I think if we want to know about good or bad the coin, we should looking on the developers team. Developers team hold important role because they run roadmap and planning the future of that coin.
Beside developers team, road map is important thing too because its describe where the project goes. Project road map will guide us to invest or not.
I personally focus on the project firs, which us the most important aspect of the coin, a coin with a weak or poor project is automatically bound to fail as the community will not adopt it, without investors, or market use, the coin is doomed, the development team is also just as important, an experienced development team means that there are possibilities of a good product coming out as a result
a good coin is a coin that can master the market. It could be seen from how the people's interest towards the coin. Or it could be seen from the news circulating around the coin.

Just read their white paper and have look on their social media pages where as it always updated or not? I think that is enough to say that you are going to be able to find out what is a good ico project with that strategy. It's true that many new altcoins are coming out everyday and while some are genuine and have good intents, some are only out to spam and possibly scam investors. Choose only the strong ones with active development and feasible usecase.

My own opinion would be is to read the white paper, research on the team as to know whether they have what it takes to make the project a success, need to study their roadmap, and check if they already have a working product or about to launch a working product.
