At my country , it's difficult to convince goverment since bitcoin can be use for money laundry that usually fit for terorism activity.
Meanwhile, our country are restrictly against terorism so it's impossible for my goverment to legalize bitcoin although bitcoin really can be use for international transaction

We can propose to the Minister of finance to enter the bitcoin as an alternative legal payment. With a lot of give a good news about bitcoin then everyone would be interested in knowing the bitcoin, additionally use the bitcoin for routine transactions so that it automatically introduces the bitcoin to relationships.
it's a nice thought but when you tell me what it bitcoin at them. they would have said bitcoin is a great tool for a crime, it was my own experience as I explain to my teacher about bitcoin. because anonymity is one of the important things why the governments does not accept bitcoin

I have a question for you. How to make governments accept bitcoin and not see it as a threat? So that one could use bitcoin in daily use, such as paying taxes or grocery shopping. What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
Well besides anonymity I guess they don't accept bitcoin cause they can't control it, So I guess they won't accept it but here in the Philippines there is a bitcoin wallet that we can use to pay for our electric and water bill.

For me for now its impossible unless if your country are dont have too much regulation in their country like in brazil but here in my country its impossible because of anonymity of bitcoin they can not trace or no identity that they can be use for their investigation once they are scam..
So they dont let government accept bitcoin.
I think most governments already know that bitcoin will very likely be detrimental to them. so I think the government is not going to fool with adoption or accept bitcoin in their country

Sorry but I can't imagine governments accepting bitcoin, Well some might recognize it as a money but most of them will just consider it as a threat . Bitcoin has certainly a lot advantages but the governments think that the risks are greater which is true .

1). Tracking a person is difficult or worse impossible
2). Can be used to illegal stuffs (money laundering etc.)
3). It is impossible to tax someone
4). Banks plays a great role in a ones economy but in bitcoin you can be your own bank
5). No one controls it - Nobody will be responsible if something happens
6). Price is not stable

Unless their currency is dead or economic is dying, but citizens still have gadget and internet connection, government might think to use bitcoin to solve their problem (temporarily) Roll Eyes

That will not gonna happen. Governments want to have controls on everything they manage. They want transparency. Bitcoin dont have that feature. Its not centralised like banks. They have no control to it. If theres one thing i think will catch their interest. The blockchain technology.

The blockchain offers complete transparency, so this argument should not be weighting all to much. The issue of bitcoin mixers however might affect their opinion.

They will use blockchain technology since it offers many advantage and can be used for many things other than currency. But don't forget that bitcoin =/= blockchain.

Darn, dats true, I mostly tend to mix them both. And rightfully so, since without Bitcoin nobody would talk about blockchain all to much. If Bitcoin fails we will have a bad stance on defending blockchaintechnology as beeing important innovation.

There is that bad case of a devaluating currency (but not necessarily dying economics, Nigeria still has a reputation for applying their bussiness models worldwide *cough* *cough*) and there you can see the impulsive reaction from officials

This knee reflex will appear again, and again and ... again.

Thanks to the widespread use of the US dollar as a reserve currency, the United States used to be at the top of the global economic system. In addition, the creation of Bitcoin, in all probability, involved the economic system of the United States. The world first became acquainted with the digital currency after the financial crisis in the United States, which brought the world banking system. Now the growing popularity of Bitcoins threatens the dominant position of the US dollar and the country's position in the global economy.
Ironically, at the time, as the world's most popular cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is struggling to get widespread, the government spends huge amounts of taxpayers' money, to find a way that would prevent the adoption of a new hypothetical cryptocurrency terrorists and criminals. In addition, you should take into account the computing power and the number of users needed to sustain the network.

Government can't accept digital currency as they can't track the sources of coins.

The governments have nothing with bitcoin. They are ordinary employees who simply perform the instructions given from banks. The banks will lose everything if bitcoin will prevail worldwide and people use it in all of their daily transactions. Therefore, banks will do nothing if people use it only for hoarding as asset; but if they start to use it very often as currency then I believe that will see the governments to impose strict measures in usage of bitcoin.

This not easy to accept bitcoin by the government, as bitcoin is decentralized and cant contol easily by the government. As this is anonymous and hard thing to do in any country literally accept this kind of digital currency. However, I think its impossible to happen as government cannot control people to use bitcoin.

As a main currency , the government will never accept nor make bitcoin their main currency. Maybe it can be an alternative but it will take time for the government do that.  As for now the best concern is to make merchant accept bitcoin, increase the sphere of influence until the business sector pressure the government to acknowledge bitcoin.

I dont think they want bitcoin because bitcoin is decentralized and if you mean government to accept it they have to make it centralized so that they can spy/watch where those bitcoin are coming . If bitcoin can increase its limitation by volume I think it will be push thru when those rich people adapt it and suggest to the government to accept it.

Government cant have control on bitcoin. So this scenario is just a fantasy. Government will never accept bitcoin. Government likes to regulate everthing. Government will never accept this kind of technology because they will never gonna have access to it. But the government will never control peolple.
Yes the govt will never accept bitcoin until the bitcoin users pay tax to governments. In any country, if the govt will get the revenue they will accept any business. If they do not get any profit, they will never think about that project. The bitcoin is in this category the govt will not get any tax from bitcoin transaction, so some countries banned bitcoin. And some country announced it is illegal currency.

The only thing I see that can make governments take decisions in favor of Bitcoin is the transparency in using blockchain. There is also the fact that this makes people's lives better, but history has shown that, in general, governments choose ways that, even ineffective, allow them to have greater control over society. That being said, I think governments would prefer to create their own Blockchain instead of accepting Bitcoin as their local currency.
for sure they will not adopt this currency and instead creating a new one which they can control more, as you mention as history itself said that government doesn't wants community to have more power above them that supposedly their first priority, its been a hard discussion whether there's one nation that will carry this system or they will completely object the use of blockchain.
