Those are obviously one of the best solutions to fight short-term food shortage, the only problem is for those who might not have a place to create a home garden to plant fruits and vegetables. People that have land or laws can easily go ahead with that but people who live in apartments or in houses that have no extra land will have issues with that.

The only option that remains for them is to store canned food and other food supplements that don't go useless even if kept for months so that if there is a short-term food shortage, they can manage with all these until things become normal again.

As the days go by, the global crisis will more increase. Various global pandemic like corona virus attack and then Russia and Ukraine war all together now the situation is getting more worse. And also what you mentioned that global climate changing gonna also be a big reason for thus things.
And for this, observing the whole situation I think The days ahead are going to be more difficult. There may be days when there will be money but there will be no food in the market to buy food. So for skipping those problems I also think that we should always alert and also learn some farming what can little bit help us to gain .
