Proper management of natural resources is the key to this problem, because it is useless even though the country has abundant natural resources but the government cannot manage them properly. My country has abundant natural resources (such as gold, nickel and agriculture) but there are still many people who live below the poverty line. This means that the government's role in managing natural resources is also very important.
Indeed, it is very important to manage it well so that they can make good use of what they have and it is truly a shame if they have good natural resources but do not manage them well, of course this is very detrimental to themselves, so I think in this case It has become the government's responsibility to be able to properly manage the natural products they have so that they can achieve a good life and if they can be managed well, of course people will be able to enjoy their own natural products and economic turnover will also increase.
A country is bound to be beautiful when it is governed well with great transparency and accountability. But when the governing council becomes corrupt the country becomes anarchy. Man ignores his conscience to benefit himself.
Having a beautiful mind is very important to make the world beautiful. Consciousness is what distinguishes man from other creatures. But when man becomes desensitized there is no difference between man and animal.
That's what extreme hunger and poverty can turn people into. A hungry man has no conscience When people live in a country that greed abounds and the available resources are not flowing to everyone, but only few people are enjoying what is meant for everyone. Such country will not make any meaningful progress, there will be high level of lawlessness, there will be high level of criminally minded people, because everyone will be jostling for the little that's given to the masses. There will be no room for conscience, people will do whatever to improve their ling condition. But one thing is certain if the people want to change the narrative they have to take things up themselves and call the government to order. If they are still waiting for the same government who is continually putting them in such a difficult position to change things for them, I'm sorry such a thing will never happen.
We all wish that the people of the world should at least not suffer from hunger in the present time. I myself have seen people sacrifice their conscience for hunger because the suffering of hunger is the greatest suffering in the world. One day while watching a movie tears came to my eyes after hearing a dialogue that said - the most tasty food in the world is rice and his son said that the most tasty food in the world is rice and eggs. So those who live in a country where there is a lot of diversity should speak up and claim their rights. If necessary there should be a movement but it cannot be accepted that people will be hungry in a predominantly agricultural country.

What could be the root cause of this hunger in a country that has all it takes including human capitals and natural resources to make a great nation that the whole would will cherish and envy.
As far as I know, there are many factors that cause Nigeria to be hit by famine, for example: extreme weather, conflict, etc. and many other factors, so that all activities are disrupted, starting from agriculture and markets.

With the protracted conflict occurring, many Nigerian people have left their agricultural places and areas, and the behavior of the rebels has really disturbed the people there, By limiting all sectors, it is not surprising if a country is hit by conflict, making them poor without being able to do anything financially or economically.

Moreover, what is even worse is that humanitarian organizations cannot enter conflict areas because especially those areas are already controlled by those who are armed, with no foreign support, so that they do not receive good economic assistance.
The main factor is the prolonged armed conflict which causes people to flee and not dare to farm safely, and another major influence is that the world humanitarian community also does not dare to enter places where the conflict occurs.

So I came to the conclusion that all of this could have happened domestically because overpopulation and their culture were also the main factors in the poverty and hunger that occurred there. The people there have more than five children, so this actually hinders parents' focus on developing their children's human resources. Parents' lack of time because they have to provide for their children makes them indifferent to their children's education and mental health, so that their children's mental growth and thinking are not optimal. If society is like that, it is very easy to be manipulated and used as a tool of war. This is the fact

Apart from that, African culture is also very difficult to change, their physical strength and ethnicity, in the past and even now, makes them prioritize muscles and physical solutions in dealing with problems. So war will never end and there will be no peace there will always be war so hunger will continue to occur. Actually this is very sad but this is what actually happened there.

I wouldn't say that Nigeria is particularly well known for agriculture, but it might be one of the bigger players in Africa - just because it has the largest population. In the rest of the world agriculture is heavily mechanized and does not rely on large amounts of people, so it might feed people and make some money but it offers a fairly low amount of high skilled labor. You'll find that farmers are always looking to sell their crop to the highest bidder, which makes sense and is good for a country if they keep reinvesting back home. However the highest bidder in Nigeria's case, particularly with it's currency volatility, will often be overseas buyers and the farmer might not be interested in pouring those profits back in, but rather enjoy them elsewhere.

Nigerians may not be well-known for their agricultural skills, but they do make an effort to produce food because the country's agricultural conditions are not ideal. Nigeria currently imports a small amount of food goods into other nations, which is why I stated that Nigeria ought to rank among the nations with the highest food output.  And in light of the current economic situation, which is well known, many people are attempting to return to farming due in part to the high cost of food products. This is due to the fact that elements that supported Nigeria's increased food production also made the city of food feasible. To ensure that food is produced, more farmers must be hired at the same time in order to prevent food shortages, which lead to rising food prices as food grows more scarce. Simply because our farmers invest large sums of money in your farms The price of the goods they purchase from the farm is also impacted by this, and the quantity of farmers we have on the ground allows us to adjust to the challenges we face in food production over time. However, We should face less of a problem with food production when people start using their phones again.

Hopefully, in countries where hunger is still high, there will be subsidies or assistance even if it is to cover a few days of basic food. In my country, there is already regular assistance such as rice, fertiliser subsidies and cash, although not every month and not everyone is evenly distributed, at least it is an effort that helps.

Most of the time, I struggle to understand the rationale behind all these things and my thinking faculty fails me most of the time because how comes will we as a nation have abundance of these natural resources and still battle with hunger and survival. But it all revolves round the kind of leaders we have and how they manage the affairs of the country. Solving food scarcity in Nigeria which have at core been the most inflicted factor on our economy and livelihood, is not meant to be so difficult or a rocket science. All the government needs to do is to leverage the abundance of arable lands across the agro inclined states and cultivate a large quantity of such lands for mass production of variety of commodities and grains then create a strong value chain for such process and cross-supply those commodities for states in need.
Do you really believe that the reason that hunger and poverty is still a major problem is because the government or lawmakers are adamant or ignorant of what they're supposed to do to remedy the problem.

Just so you know, most people in government prosper because of the misery of the people/governed, they need to create problems they'll solve so they can earn from the solutions they provide, this has been the fate of not just African countries but other Countries of the world.

A farmer never dies of hunger and remains healthy.  You look at your ancestor  they were stronger than today generation and they lived longer because they were fit.  They worked in natural surroundings, breathing fresh air and doing physical labor.  Their food was pure and unadulterated, which was best for their health.  Due to agriculture his body was strong and powerful.  They were physically active, which protected them from diseases.  Despite the lack of modern conveniences they maintained their health by leading a natural lifestyle.  This is the reason why they lived longer and were less affected by diseases.  His simplicity of life and physical exertion were the secret of his health and longevity.
I do not agree here because I have been watching many farmers are committing suicides as things are going beyond their limit with corruption is spreading like plague in our society which is having big mouth and things are going into this way quickly even we are having technology and things are going better but still it's all not easy for having all is good.

I agreed about this part, but this was in past currently due to use of technology we are having no fresh air and also food and other things are also not fresh and good as you mentioned all is done by chemicals and fertilizer are having big impact which is bringing things badly down. In few countries, now we are having agriculture related lands are going into hand of mafia which is building housing societies and huge buildings which are also another big problem we will be more problematic in coming years.

The problem is just bad leadership, corrupt politicians who are only interested in looting public fund. With the resources that country like this have weather conditions can't be the reason why their is the level of starvation. If we should check how much that have been invested into agriculture you will see that nothing have been done. The economic crisis that Nigeria is facing right now is as a result of mismanagement of resources.  Things can get better if their is a good leadership that can manage the country resources and go after politicians that are looting public fund.  Most countries that are facing terrible economic challenge it is as a result of bad leadership and nothing more is the cause.

Nigeria is country that is well known as a typical agricultural nation which was once the mainstay to the country economy and because of the agricultural strength of the country compel them to have their flag as Green White Green which signify agriculture and peace but it baffles me to see the level of hunger going on in Nigeria now to the extend that an average Nigerian cannot boast of feeding himself and family three square meal per day.
What could be the root cause of this hunger in a country that has all it takes including human capitals and natural resources to make a great nation that the whole would will cherish and envy.

The Nigerian problem began with its leaders who ignored the issues of its people. The Nigerian government has failed to give what is needed for its citizens to enjoy the better life they desire. How is it possible that a country known for agriculture is struggling to provide a square meal per day, 80% of Nigerians are farmers because even the rich people are also into agriculture. Nigerian farmers often exchange farm produce for home things and the farm tools to make their labor easier. I believe that in some countries, the government gives what is needed for farmers to start up their farms, but the Nigerian government just cares about itself.

However, since the farmers noticed that those who they elected as their government weren't concerned about their needs, they did not sell the food products they had at the end of their farming season because, with Nigeria's poor economy, farmers continue to struggle more than the wealthy ones.

Transportation costs and other conveniences are quite influential. Gasoline may be an important factor and I think what you say is true.
However, it all comes back to government policy, because the government has an important role in everything, even though a country has abundant agricultural products, this does not guarantee prosperity if the government does not make policies that are profitable for farmers.
I also agree that the main point is directed at the government, which is the party that can make every community feel prosperous through a policy set by the government. Because the welfare effect is not only for farmers, but also for all elements so that farmers and other workers can also feel their own enjoyment when they continue to live and work to earn income from the work they are engaged in. And talking about the costs of transportation itself, the government also has the right and authority to regulate this matter so that it is not more burdensome for all elements of society.

The major factor for  all these is petrol, agricultural produce and other things has to be transported to different places to be sold to consumers,  if the traders are paying a lot of money just to transport those goods they are going to increas the price of these goods so that they won't make loss st the end of the day,  The leaders of this country don't even know their left and right, they can't really handle the administrative duties of the country, people are starving and facing hardship everywhere, The only solution from the president was to increase minimum wage to 70000 naira... increasing mining wage when the price of everything has sky rocketed isn't going to change anything..They should start with the reduction of the price of petrol

There are several agricultural countries that have the same fate as Nigeria.
In my country, Indonesia is also the same, there are lots of agricultural products here but not many farmers live prosperously and the main factor is the government's lack of support for them regarding the policies they make, I think that is also the same as in Nigeria.

I just learnt something very important, people are bad but sometimes let's not just avoid them and throw their words away, rather as a wise person you are to grab their words look for the meaningful ones and throw the rest away if you think it is not meaningful to you. Cause not all the words of the ones you hate are important, sometimes they may not be talking to you but you can still grab something.
Why am I saying this I remember the last year of our ex president Buhari he advised Nigerians to put their focus on farming even myself I was angry why he had to advice everyone to go into farming what is the case now everyone wants to farm now as to grow their own food because of the high cost of industrial products if everyone had listened to him it wouldn't have been this worse for the common man.

The reason why the mortality rate is increasing too much is that we no longer have access to natural agricultural resources that are truly from nature and void of any form of adulteration. Youths no longer look at farming as a career choice and the ones that are even doing the farming are all focused on what they can gain from it and would use excess fertilizers on literally all agricultural products which end up not supplying the body with the required nutrients and you have sicknesses flying almost everywhere.

Regardless of the profits in tech and the convenience of working from home or the huge pay In the petroleum industry, the agricultural sector is one area that when neglected would have a damning effect on the economy of a country and that's what those agricultural nations that have totally or partially left the agricultural sector are currently facing.

What I am seeing here is that corruption is a big factor why the government can't fulfil their obligations to its people. If only those politicians won't be so greedy and selfish, I believe, they can implement programs that will truly benefit their people. Because just like other 3rd world countries, most of them are corrupt nations but they have abundant resources to offer. And that I believe is one of the hindrances why these countries are hard to develop because of their leaders themselves.

The climate on our planet is changing dramatically. This is confirmed by temperature records this summer in many regions of the planet. This means that fertile lands will partially become unsuitable for agriculture and will partially go under water due to rising sea levels. All this will lead to the problem of food shortages, which means hunger and wars for resources.

But perhaps new technologies, rather than vast areas of agricultural land, will solve the growing problem of food shortages. I recently read an article that American entrepreneur and billionaire Bill Gates invested in a new ambitious project to create butter from CO2 and said that it tastes absolutely no different from regular butter, since it consists of a set of the same chemicals.

Using a variety of biochemical technologies, scientists have come up with a way to produce fats from carbon dioxide taken from the air, as well as hydrogen extracted from water. Moreover, the entire butter production process takes place without the need to use animals, plants or agricultural land. Moreover, it is possible to synthesize not only butter, but also other food products in this way.

I think farmers will not be discriminated against in good countries which are successful and well-developed, their farmers will be given importance because farmers have a big hand in the development of a country. If a country is developed, it means that farmers will be more important there, but unfortunately, it is not the case in our country, that is why our country is a developing country in which hard work is not rewarded and in which the laborers are not important, that is why the country never develop.
I am not quoting this discussion from all countries globally, but some countries experience high poverty but based on agricultural data, these countries generate high profits from agriculture. So we can assume that there are high levels of corrupt activities in the agricultural sector because the government does not subsidize farmers' needs and several policies do not improve the welfare of farmers.

Quote
You are right, farmers are not paid according to their labour and work, their decisions are bought at a very low price, and the government sells them to foreign countries or sells them in the country for more money. The biggest loss is that farmers have lost interest in their crops and those who do farm do it for their own needs and not for selling what they want. They know that they will not be paid for their hard work.
There is an ironic case that occurs in the agricultural sector at national borders, farmers choose to sell their agricultural products to other countries because they get appropriate profits from their work, the government should be embarrassed by the above case but they do not consider this matter which must be handled immediately and they should improving policies that favor farmers, but in fact they express themselves as if the agricultural sector is not experiencing problems

I really agree with you, that, ultimately, the ones who must be responsible for this incident are not the farmers but the policymakers, namely the government, which they do not provide the necessary assistance to the farmers but perhaps only think about themselves and ignore what is happening.
As an agricultural country, it is clear that the people are happy with agriculture, so if the government is willing to help, it is certain that it will develop well, but if you ignore it, there is nothing the farmers can do apart from empty hopes. Everyone ends up having difficulty being able to develop in any way without help.
Government policies do not support the welfare of farmers, many government officials act as mafias selling farmers' needs at high prices, but the price of farmers' harvests is bought at low prices and the crops are exported abroad at higher prices, so where is the government's role in supporting welfare of farmers in the agricultural sector. I am very concerned to see farmers who do not make a profit after harvesting, the harvest only meets their living needs and even the harvest is not enough for savings.
I think farmers will not be discriminated against in good countries which are successful and well-developed, their farmers will be given importance because farmers have a big hand in the development of a country. There are several countries that have advantages in terms of agriculture and have varying levels of hunger, instead supplying other countries with abundant reasons and arguing tolerance, cooperation etc. Cheesy . the minister produces treasury cash may have a lot of exports, but the people in their own country with the majority of simple people have to think hard to sell cheaply or maintain, similar cases are like an open secret and become commonplace, which I am amazed at the time of the food crisis or maybe accompanied by the loss of the value of the currency slowly there are some officials and officials of a country still living well, luxury goods and enjoying a beautiful life. I am positively thinking that they have businesses/companies that are not affected by any crisis.

Hopefully, in countries where hunger is still high, there will be subsidies or assistance even if it is to cover a few days of basic food.
