welll five ethereum are less than $2500 at the moment, id o not think that you should put it all into an ICO beause it is being a little bit risky at the moment, there are better investments right now.

Price of eth today is lower so youll need to spend more of your total eth to make a decent investment, just know this. investment on ICO project will be a good way to earn right now, but you need to careful when you choose an ICO project. perhaps better to doing some research first about them. or try to check on ICO ranting site like ICObench, etc.
Not a financial advice but you would be pretty much safe if you would park your ether in new-ish infrastructure projects (next gen ones) like Aion, Icon, Wanchain, Zilliqa etc. Those have huge potentials.

It happened bcoz you selected a wrong option for ICO . experts in investment dont face such issue and people who are not expert should do check everything and reviews of experts about it . sometimes they are biased so check review of everyone . in this month quarkchain ICO was pumped x15 from ICO price . just imagine 1.4 ether (maximum cap) of investors in ICO is now 20-22 ether .
