That is one way to go about it but you would be best served checking in on your investments from time to time. Your nonchalant behavior makes me think you have an amount invested you could lose yet still retire early from and that would give me confidence as well. Even if you do check price regularly, there wouldn't be a point to disclose your portfolio often. That puts an unnecessary bulls eye target on your back.
That is really how everyone should be investing in this market, most especially when you are looking at the long term benefit. Invest what you would not worry about and come back few years later to check how your investments have been doing over the years.

This is the only way to stay in this game without bothering yourself about every little move in the market as long as you understand the benefit you stand to gain in the future. I remember buying few ETH last year at around $8. Just last year, come on! While some people are crying about the market going way low to $400, you are imagining how much you have gained even with the dip.

Well, everyone has the right to invest as they wish, no one is pointing a gun to your head. God only knows that people "invest" with all kinds of intentions. No real right or wrong. Without the panic sellers, the fomo buyers, the day traders, the Sunday investor and the Wall St futures trader, we won't have a market that is what it is today.

I don't check prices every day for sure, but it is always curiosity that keeps an eye on it. Can't say I wouldn't sell at 100k. Can say I would.

I don't even look at the price anymore. Just looked today after a few days... Eth is now being negotiated at 480. LOL

Nobody knows how much my portfolio is worth. I will hold for a few years. I am not going to sell now, even if it were 10x more than it is now, so why would I care for the price now?

I put some good money into this market. But I really believe in the technology, I really like it, I am even studying it. I am not worried.

Goodwill. Holding our coins for a couple of years may produce very good returns. The question is, can we restrain ourselves in that long period of time? especially when every day we are still struggling with the crypto world that will inevitably give us information indirectly to the price movement of coins that we hold. I used to have the same intentions, but unfortunately I have to break up my intention because I am not so strong to keep my first plan due to the fact that my portfolio already up multiple times.

yup, keep your port private, mate.
It is good to not show off ones capital or assets. Staying low profile means staying safe and secure. As bees get attracted toward honey, cunning people with bad mind having wrong intentions get attracted towards money that does not belong to them.As far as, he is making progress, it does not really matter whether he lets others have a peek on his wealth or not.

it's good that I'm happy to hear it from people who always complain that prices go down after buying and rising prices down after selling.
remembering goals is a good thing, but you also have to be prepared for the risks that will occur because in each investment risk.
The market value of any of the crypto coin is of volatile nature and that you can’t expect the market value of any of the crypto coin to keep going upwards all the time. complaining about the downfall in the market value of any of the coin is not a good thing to do and that at such times, you need to keep on holding your coins and that you need to keep good control over your nerves.

... I will hold for a few years ...

My thoughts are similar to yours. My investments in criptos are for long term, at least 5 years.
I didn't sell even on the high we had on December.
I'm not saying it's the best strategy, but as I invested only money that I will not use or need, I'll keep my strategy.
That is the right thing to do to just keep calm and just keep what you have right now, everyone of us will finally change our life if we will just continue to hold it and have it for a long time, so it is a perfect strategy to have at least save and hold coins that has the potential to grow.
Just be on yourself only for what are may real happen or what are the present situation of your portfolio just do your best on making money.
We can make things possible guys, especially that we have found this opportunity that really helps a lot without racist, gender, or even educational background for us to enter here, so right now I don't care what could be the price for as long as there are still opportunities out there.

It is very normal in bitcoin, price use to rise and fall but you will not have to care about falling price, just hold with patience you will earn very high, now there are millions of people who are interested in bitcoin, no need to be worry just fix you aim before you get in crypt then focus on your goal and no need to listen to the false news, have patience and hold with faith that bitcoin has potential to recover its price very fast., be ready to face everything that happens in crypto currency.

really, if you are sure of your choice of coin then you should go and forget what you are investing now because even though you are currently monitoring may be the sadness that you will feel right now.

I guess he doesn't want to see the sadness actually, that could be the reason he is closing his eyes and ears. I'm sure he would have opened them now that the market are beginning to have some green shed. Roll Eyes

That is how exactly things should functioning.
Everyone is too much obsessed with price movements these days because they are only counting on short term. But we are all aware that Bitcoin is the most profitable on long term and that is the way to achieve the best results.
When you think on long term you can be much more relaxed and much more goal oriented.

yes you are right in my opinion no one knows where it is going and how much the price is created, it is better to play long term only and do not sell too fast assets you have, play in coin that has a limited total supply then it will be able to give a very profit many when the total supply is getting thinning then it is certain the price will be expensive.

Market is recovering, but many altcoins are not. It's possible that some of them never will.
Few altcoins have survived the long term.

That's why it's important to make a long term portfolio with the market leaders, mostly bitcoin and ethereum. I don't like ripple but it's a good choice for long term too.

As you are going down the coinmarketcap the risk is higher. That's why people who invest (and even overinvestment sometimes) in those coins and get worried.

You are the positive investor so you don't worried about your investment. If you feel it is right decision you can only hold your investment and this is right time to invest in cryptocurrency so better you can invest in some altcoins or Bitcoin. This also make more profit in future.
It is always the right decision. Except for those who are trading anyway and they know what they are doing, which makes them have more advantage over holders, but in the long run, holders will always win irrespective of whatever happens presently. Volatility is normal, but listening to FUD and reacting in alignment with the FUD is abnormal and most people who do that actually have no knowledge about what they have invested in and that is what makes the difference for someone like OP and those that panic easily.

Most times, it is even always good to forget about everything and just come back some few years later to check your investment. You will end up feeling better in that case as you would even not consider what is being said by the media or the FUD being created by some who do not know what they are saying at all.

Nevertheless, even if you know what is going on, you will hardly get worried about it, because at the end of the day, you will be making a lot once you know this is the future you are investing in and not a get rich quick scheme.

indeed to avoid being panic sold some of people in my country also give suggestions just like OP said that because they're believe the price will never continue to fall forever and with don't see their investment value they thought this is can avoid downtrend situations but very unfortunately that most people who have crypto asset aren't thinking just like that too because maybe if some of us have same mind then the price of major cryptocurrencies will never fall to the deep
