Quote
Edit: I have now invested 100% into Skycoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

This is an excellent result. In just six months, you managed to get 12 bitocoans, how much longer you extend what you did in the last six months. I think you should continue to do what you did in the last six months, when you got six bitcoyons. Just do not change it for money so you can continue to make a profit.

Topic starter seems like crypto genius, gaining 12 BTC out of 1000$ in 6 month. So why is he asking for an advice? Or it is "look at me, I have 12 BTC now!"  Huh I'm always taking this kind of post with a grain of salt.

I would say cash out 2 bitcoins invest 2 in other altcoins then invest 3 into a real life investment and keep 5 for if the others go wrong this way you will make your profitable circle bigger and faster.

Maybe you would like to do it in percentage for alternative 1, 2 and 4 to reward yourself a bit and lessen the pressure it will give you as part of it is still your capital and the rest that is earn you can use it to churn out more money for yourself.

You are lucky enough that you invested to the right and legit market. I hope that I could do that too when I have enough saving to invest. The best thing to do with your bitcoins is to do the same way you did before, I also suggest that you open a physocal business for you to make sure that any of your profits from either token or cryptocurrency investment or physical business investment will be saved. I am proud of you and you are one of those peoplw who makes us inspired.

If I were  the owner of that amount of  btc, I would fiat  at least 1 Btc. If you need  money I would like to suggest you to fiat some btc and then you can start trading with at least 2 btc and  hold some for more time and rest of the amount you should buy some altcoins.

I'd have put maybe 6 into alt coins, Depending on when you got on BTC you've probably still got a healthy return on that.

As and when a new alt coin comes on or if you see something that has a good prospect you could easily convert another btc towards that.

12 Bitcoins is a lot of money.
So invest in other alt coins and hold some in BTC that is the best choice.

I don't think bitcoin is going to give big gains in 2018 cause it already has a huge capitalization. To give X2 gains btc must increase it's capitalization 200$ billion more which is pretty hard. That's why some altcoins with lower capitalization are much more attractive as for me

Congrats my friend, it is a huge success and hope we all make that much soon or later. I would prefer to hold my bitcoin and try to invest some on altcoins, the rest seems not my cup of tea.

you can even be a millionaire with the bitcoins you have in the long term. but in the current situation there may be options like making trade, investing in altcoins.
i recommend that you create a nice portfolio with a few altcoins that are reliable Smiley
