But if I was stable, I would hold onto most of it and maybe change one into ETH, just to diversify the portfolio a little more, with ETH you could maybe invest into some great projects or just sit on that as it is increasing.

You know clearly what you want to do. but i still want to say if i were you, i will sell some bitcioins and buy some other cions for short-term.
I suggest that you continue on holding your bitcoins so that you can still earn more profit while being able to contemplate your next steps on whether you will invest or do something with it. It will give you more time and you can observe more prospect investment options that you would like to try.
With 12 Bitcoin in the conventional vision you are already retired, coming back with investments with 12 Bitcoin, I keep 10 and I used 2 and I try to multiply the profits with these two, I search study all kinds of projects for a possible investment.

Hold all of them. However I can see that you've invested to skycoin and honestly I don't have any idea about it. Hold them because this is the year I believe that btc will soar high, higher than 20k thats why I sold some of my altcoins and hold btc. Other than Btc, I suggest ETN - it is steady but for sure it will rise once they open the mobile mining.
If i were you, i will invest that 12 bitcoins all in into ethereum. I can feel it ethereum will become big in this year, go look at the price of ethereum right now, it's increasing since 2 days ago. It might hit 0.1 btc again in this year, who knows.
Let separate it into two parts. the first you can spend 6 BTC to invest in some potential altcoins such as ETH, Stellars, Playkey,.... With 6 BTC rest, you can still hold and wait for the increasing in few next months
It's weird, how you generate 12 bitcoin for 6 months? it would be better to do again what you do so it can produce 12 bitcoin. 12 bitcoin is a very big value, that's a pretty good step if you've invested it into skycoin. It is amazing. You have to hold your bitcoin as long as you can. We know that bitcoin is the most valuable coin in the market at this moment. And bitcoin is a multi functional coin, because as we know, bitcoin in some countries is a legal currency. Hold for another 5 years and we can see what can happen

1) Hold the Bitcoin 35%
2) Invest in altcoins 30%
3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps. 25%
4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea) 10%

I would cash out to fiat or invest in altcoins. 
sell just before the price is bitcoin's getting down from that moment. or use to buy altcoin only if you want to still get profit from other coins. from at the moment wait a bitcoin failed to rise.
seems like this days you only need to find a coin that costs 0.0002 or something like that, and accumulate everything you can afford

In just six months you managed to gain 12 bitcoins, how much more if you prolong what you were doing in the last six months. I think you should just keep on doing what you did in the past six months where you gained six bitcoins. Just don't change it for fiat money so you can keep on growing your profit. given the bitcoin is already very difficult to ride it is better if just switch bitcoin you have to altcoin that could generate more profit for you no doubt. 
Hold your Bitcoin if the price reaches $10k usd the price will correct then before that you must convert your BTC to usd ,then after the correction buy the BTC again the outcome is more BTC.
You have a really good advice and bitcoin hit 20k in December though its struggling and retracing now???
