first of all, divide your investment basket into risk levels, low (for example, the known crypto currency as bitcoin), medium (for example, the top 10 crypto currency) and high (for example ICO) and further distribute depending on your acceptable risk

Buying into a basket of top cryptos that get frequently rebalanced - akin to an index fund - should go a long way over the long-term. There are companies that specialize in this sort of thing (e.g. Triaconta).

Best long-term shots are definitely ETH and NEO like most people already mentioned. Very good coins for long-term in my opinion are also XLM, ICX and STRAT. If you want low marketcap with possible hihger gains very good are: ECC, VIBE, ONION and XSPEC.

If long term ofcourse Bitcoin, Ethereum and NEO are the coin that fits your choice if you will atleast 2 - 3 years starting from now. You will not regret those coins for holding because it will be huge on those coming years and it will give you huge profit.

ETH will be the best for long term investment, it recent price dip was not way below from its price 2-3 months ago so i think among alts this could be the best steady profit proof coin and there's bitcoin of course, with a price @ $8800 right now i think this is the best chance to buy a lot because sooner or later it will moon again i swear.

I think most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.
The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I would like to analyze a point of view. I've been observing lately that comments about Waves are gone, Waves are practically anonymous, there are many coins that are ahead, with more developed projects and with more expectation of returns, with this the way to invest in Waves is open, in my opinion Waves is a great investment in the long run.

You can buy Satoshi - this is a small, one hundred millionth bitcoin coins. Now 1000 satosh can be purchased for a small price. And you can buy other crypto-currencies: etherium, lightcoin, ripple, dash. They are interesting, because in the first ten there are crypto-currencies.

As you can see many people are suggesting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, IOTA, and I agree with those suggestions. Only a few have suggested Dogecoin, but I think this coin definitely has a future. Maybe it will not rise as much as some coins we haven't even mentioned in this thread but I'm sure DOGE will have a brighter future than most of the alts.
Another good choice would be Ripple imo. Although this coin is not liked here because it's an anti-bitcoin of sorts, XRP has such a big support from the top notch financial institutions that it's hard to imagine that this coin will not be doing good in the future.

couple of choices for a longterm investments would be : TAAS a token that also pays dividends from revenue they create by early investments in startups, Iconomi tokens - providing a platform for DAA funds, has the buyback/burn option. Also consider Hive tokens, HVN ticker - invoicing platform very undervaluated project, and also Hedge tokens because of the very low supply, but working MVP. Always DYOR.

Well my advice is investing in the most powerful crypto currencies, like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin, hold your coins for long time until the price go up highly. Also consider investing some amount in the most promising ICO projects, because they are profitable too in long term.

Asking someone which is the best investment only proved that even the old members here doesnt do a researching because if you are doing a lot of reading you will know which coin would be a worthy investment in the future.Giving your investment's faith into others hand would be foolish because we have different point of views in every project.
