Is Bitcoin a perfect birthday present for a 25 years old college student? I want to surprise a friend, he is facing a lot of challenges due to his studies and he likes Bitcoin but can't afford investing money because of his studies since he is sponsoring himself, we've been together since 2011 and his birthday is on 27th of this month, do you think 0.03BTC is a cool present 🎁 for a birthday.
Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
Did you surprise your friend?  Or was this story just to get some merit.  Because you haven't shared your friend's expression here even after the 27th has passed lol.
And if you have given your friend a surprise, how was your friend's expression in that case? And do you think your friend will keep these bitcoins or will he sell the bitcoins without thinking about its future?

Also, what kind?, collectibles, paper wallet or what?. because it's an important thing also, If your friend like collectible like lealana, Casascius and etc, maybe he won't sell it even have important thing in his school.
maybe he will be directly send the bitcoin into a wallet address? and we are not sure because about the one who will receive that bitcoin seems to be in money issues nowadays so selling that bitcoin maybe into his mind as he does not experience how bitcoin is more profitable in long term.
According to what OP said, his friend already knows about bitcoin and is interested in it, but because of his life circumstances, he cannot invest in bitcoin, both of them already know about bitcoin's potential and profitability. Moreover, it was a birthday present, I don't think he will sell it as soon as he gets that bitcoin, he has been able to support himself all these years, and there is no reason for him to be in trouble without those bitcoins. As a self-made person, I believe he understands the preciousness and meaning of the gift he received.
but we never knew mate , because as long as he is In need and there is an available amount? the chance of taking it out is there specially when the price of bitcoin increase at least double? then there will be a desire to be used.
but let us see what will happen , I hope that OP had already sent His friend the amount and now started holding and watching market from time to time like what we are doing now.

Well i am trying to understand this whole bitcoin as a gift thing and for I Dont really see this idea as a welcoming one. As you have already stated he is a student and onething i know students for, is always spending cash and gifting someome bitcoin isn't really a bad idea but in this your case, i just feel that money you gifted as bitcoin would have been given as maybe fiat currency since you said he is the one sponsoring himself at school and my reason being that he can't hold that btc since he/she constantly needs to spend the bitcoin since he is still studying.

One thing to be certain is that you need to keep a check on it. Because, if the friend is not interested in bitcoin at all, and have no idea how to cash it, there could be a time when they ask you how they can cash it out, and in that case you need to keep up with how he can, if he hides somewhere and you have no idea how to cash their bitcoin out, because you want to gave privacy, then you will have a bitcoin that is no longer available and basically burned.

So even though it looks tough and not nice, you should be able to keep a finger on that so that if they ever want your help about it, you should be able to move it like they ask, but always keep yourself away from it until then.
Judging from what the OP said, it's clear that his friend likes bitcoin, so he definitely knows about bitcoin and everything related to bitcoin, I think.
With that condition it is clear that the friend who is given will be happy because at least this will be a good gift.
0.03 btc is quite a lot for the initial investment especially with the current conditions which are still in decline because if this is stored for a long time I think in terms of price it will be many times over.

It is the coolest gift ever.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
Yes.
No one ever gifted me with this type of birthday present and that's why I'd be more than happy to receive it if a friend of mine is thinking of giving me a present like this on my birthday.

I advise you to think this over carefully.  I think your friend has the right to get Bitcoin or whatever coin you want to give him.  I agree with your view on giving your friend such a great birthday gift.  It can be a gift and an investment asset for your friends in the future.  It's a perfect gift for your friend because your friend loves Bitcoin too.  I suggest that your friend invest the bitcoins and hold off for a while because of course it would be a shame if the birthday gift you gave is sold immediately because it would be a waste to give away bitcoins if you have such a thing.  Cheesy

Who knows bitcoin of course, if he was rewarded on his birthday with bitcoin, he would be very happy, but it didn't come to me.
I think this thread is irrelevant. You claim to generously want to gift your friend 0.03BTC. Go ahead and do it. You really don’t need to be nudged on by forum members if you truly want to do it.
You mentioned he likes and is also interested in bitcoin. If he likes and is interested in bitcoin, then perhaps you need more than forum members to convince you that it’s a great gift for your friend.
As a previous thread already exists about gifting someone with bitcoins see link above, no matter how big the gift is it doesn't matter if you can see other people can also afford a luxury car gift for someone's birthday but asking the forums sure has lots of opinions and it's clear they like this idea, it's just that maybe the OP wanted to show off that he would reward a friend 0.03 BTC.

Would I love to accept bitcoin as a birthday gift?
I would assume that about 90% of members registered on this forum either likes, has, hoping to have or is interested in bitcoin. So I would say your question is redundant.
Whatever the gift is, if it's valuable, someone will definitely be happy, especially in the form of bitcoin, maybe it can be invested or cashed into fiat, and I think all people are literate about bitcoin, so the gift will be worth receiving.

Ofcourse he will be happy to get bitcoin as a birthday gift, Bitcoin is money, and who doesn't want to get money as a gift  Smiley

However I wish that your friend knows about bitcoin and if that is the case, he will be even more happier. In case he does not know about bitcoin, tell him some basic details about bitcoin and how to keep it secure so that he may not lose it because of his ignorance.

I will join the rest of the others to say this, the response OP will get is still the same thing as regards his friends situation. It is even better OP friend is very much informed about bitcoin so it would not be a waste as he is definitely in need of it. Atleast it could aid your friend in sorting out things for himself as it is a reasonable funds which can cover some cost. Like my friend would always say "any amount of money given be it big or small but at that moment is mostly needed you gave it out, it is most cherished and valuable" so I can tell your friend would value the kindness shown to him since he is bitcoin inclined. Your motive is a good one mate. Keep it up.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?

First, I really admire you cause 0.03 BTC is now worth almost 800$, which is a huge amount in my country. Second: if he already knows about bitcoins, this is probably the best gift he has ever received. I was in a similar situation when I knew about the potential of bitcoin, but I couldn't afford to invest in it, and when I first got it, I was super excited. I believe at that time, he will be much more excited and passionate than me, because it is a gift from a friend, a priceless gift.

0.03 BTC is currently worth $740 so it is a great gift for your friend and will be a gift that might help him in many ways. He can use the gift to pay for his studies, buy food, or other things and he will be very happy to receive a gift from you. If you think it's a good gift for him, you can prepare it from now on.

Of course, I would like to receive Bitcoins as a birthday present and I hope someone will send Bitcoins to me later Grin

Nothing is perfect not even Bitcoin but it is one of the good birthday present for someone who is into Bitcoin already or is addicted to it. How can he say that he can't afford investing in BTC when we are not force to buy a one whole Bitcoin? But, any amount can perfectly work already. This is the advantage of investing in Bitcoin compared to other non-crypto assets out there that has a minimum.

0.03BTC is valued at 745.35 USD currently. It's a decent amount already and it will surely help your friend if he is struggling financially. He can immediately sell a portion of this BTC. He shouldn't worry because the value of BTC can still grow. When he have some extra money and the price of BTC dips, he can also buy to replenish the borrowed BTC.

If indeed he likes bitcoin then that is a pretty good gift I think for your friend because it sure can be memorable on a birthday and obviously this would definitely make a pretty good gift.
Now only 6 days left and I think that's enough time from now. I hope you will provide feedback on the 27th, at least if you do give this gift, there is some evidence that is definitely there. I was expecting it friend Cheesy on the other hand you are a good friend I like it.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
As I mentioned in another thread, bitcoin is a great birthday gift and I can't think of anything to argue against. Especially if your friend has no way of buying bitcoins himself, but is interested in doing so, he will certainly be even happier about the gift. But advise him not to sell the 0.03 bitcoins and see it as an investment in the future. This is how he can get the most out of it, with very little risk.  Smiley

OP, you are doing a great job by giving away bitcoins to your friend as a birthday gift. One more favour which we can give to our friends or family members is telling them how to invest in bitcoin. Those who don't have huge money can invest weekly or monthly in Bitcoin, and that will give them good return in the long run.
Bitcoin is not a scheme that can make you rich overnight. Rather, you need to patiently invest and wait for the return. See the historic price chart of bitcoin to correlate bitcoin price with time.

Of course that is more than enough for a birthday present for him, because of his hard work to give up his money to pay for his college studies and give up his money to prioritize education, so it is very appropriate for you to give this gift to your comrades in arms, and that too is a very large amount. big for me give Bitcoin amount with 0.03BTC..

If I were in a position like your friend, I would be very grateful to receive the gift, but I got inspired by you about giving birthday gifts in the form of Bitcoin, it seems appropriate for me to give an example, to give gifts in the form of Bitcoin to my parents, so they can use it when I'm gone, thank you for the inspiration that never crossed my mind.

because I personally too, if I receive bitcoin 0.03, I will be very happy.

Years ago I wouldn't approve of this only due to the fact that there's not a lot of people who know about bitcoin let alone that could appreciate it. But nowadays? I think this is a nifty gift that could even help jumpstart their journey in the bitcoin and cryptocurrency industry! So yeah I do think this is a good gift to offer a long time friend. Although I do hope that along with this gift, you provide him with all the things he would need, including proper information, in order to effectively safekeep and store his bitcoins, maybe even make use of it in the future if given the opportunity. In any case, Doing one's own research is also a viable thing to do so it's not really that important in the grand scale of things, what's very important however is that you are a very thoughtful friend, and judging how bitcoin is regarded of nowadays, this is something that he will truly appreciate and cherish.
