Is Bitcoin a perfect birthday present for a 25 years old college student? I want to surprise a friend, he is facing a lot of challenges due to his studies and he likes Bitcoin but can't afford investing money because of his studies since he is sponsoring himself, we've been together since 2011 and his birthday is on 27th of this month, do you think 0.03BTC is a cool present 🎁 for a birthday.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
0.03 BTC = 743.4 USD (As of this writing)

Who wouldnt want 700+ bucks as a gift.?  Cheesy You do know on what he do really likes which means that you do already know the answer. Its obviously that he would really get
that surprised and would be happy on your gift. What a good friend he had. This do really adds up more recognition as this would really be creating that
kind of interest to study and learn more about crypto.

Anything you feel like doing to help your friend is good and that will make him see more value in Bitcoin. If he not financially bouyant then you can give him money instead of giving him Bitcoin. All he need now is money to feed himself so if you give him Bitcoin trying to help him have some holdings then he will sell it and feed with it.

I do not think this thread is necessary. You have a friend, he knows about bitcoin, he knows how bitcoin is valuable. Then how will he feel if you give him something valuable like bitcoin? Definitely good.
Yeah! I will be very happy to accept the gift because 0.03BTC is #56000 now, I will use it to start a small business so that I will make a lot of money to sponsor myself in my studies and any other things and to make my family and friends happy. And be come billionaire in town. And surprise my friend who gave me the BTC gift. And I will appreciate him for the gift he gave to me, to be a billionaire today.you are really good and a caring friend.I too will make him happy for making me a rich boy.

Although giving money as a birthday gift isn't standard practice, if your friend loves Bitcoin, that would be the ideal option. I think giving your friend Bitcoin instead of something else will make him or her very delighted. Seeing his situation in view of your discussion. It still depends on how you want to surprise your friend, though. Yet if someone gave me Bitcoin when I was trying to win it, it would still be a wonderful surprise for me.

The bolded part will make it a perfect birthday present for your friend.

Well, anyone will love Bitcoin as a Birthday gift even if a person doesn't like Bitcoin, he can just turn it into cash.  In short, gifting a person money is one of the better gifts now a day since unlike stuff, money is very flexible to have.  You can save it, buy things you like from it, invest it, or whatever you wanted.  You can even gift it to another person regardless of age, gender, and preference.

As a good friend, I know that receiving such a gift will be one of the most incredible experiences of my life. If you think your friend deserves such a gift, make sure that he or she is aware of the fundamentals of bitcoin, including its value, security, and how to keep it safe, so that, despite your best efforts to help him, he or she doesn't become a victim to scammers.

0.03 BTC is worth almost $750  at the current price of bitcoin, that's quite an expensive birthday gift but I think it's perfectly OK, if your friend is a person that worth giving that much to, then why not, I believe he would really appreciate it.

For me, Bitcoin as a birthday gift is a perfect gift, only those who don't know what bitcoin is wouldn't appreciate such a gift, the beautiful thing is that, bitcoin is an asset that can grow and bear profit tomorrow, it much better than liabilities that one would end up spending on to maintain it.

if your friend needs money (FIAT liquid money) I would give it away directly and not waste time.
If he has not experience to exchange he can waste a % while changing ....

I think the real gift for a bitcoiner would be something related culture likewise "understanding the power of a product like bitcoin".
I'm sure a good book and a few satoshis are always the best gift for a bitcoiner.
It could also be interesting to give a bitcoin collectible as a gift.
With 0.03 you can definitely buy interesting objects Wink

You can give him any amount of bitcoins you want for his birthday, especially since he loves bitcoins. You can hope that he will put your bitcoins to good use and help him financially complete his studies.

Everyone who knows bitcoins wants to receive bitcoins as a birthday gift but the problem is who will give us bitcoins as a gift. 0.03 BTC is a very big gift for a person, especially if his daily expenses are not so big that he doesn't have to spend all 0.03 BTC at once.

If you know that your friend is facing a lot of challenges and would probably need fiat to solve some of them, then give your friend cold cash, and not BTC, if your friend is faced with a lot of problems and you go ahead to gift him BTC, he may not hold it longer than the moment you gave it to him, so you can make things easy for him by giving him cold cash.

I feel you shouldn't even be asking strangers what you should gift your friend, you should know what your friend likes and would appreciate. But if you decide to ever gift anybody BTC, make sure the person knows how to use it, if not they would lose your gift eventually.

Definitely, why would I dislike that gift? I love it and I'm longing for it so it's truly going to be one of the best gift to your friend.

It will for sure a surprising to him. And with 0.03BTC as a gift, that's going to give him some more thoughts that he should do well not just in school but also to start accumulating more.

You're such a good friend. I guess that you're also holding yours so that it's not only him that will hold and accumulate soon.

Would you love to accept Bitcoin as a Birthday Gift?
Bitcoin has monetary value and people always love, accept and appreciate valuable gifts, so he will appreciate it. Since you mentioned that your friend already has an interest in bitcoins and has always wanted to invest in it, it makes your gift even more of a thoughtful one for him. However because people who invest are to invest in bitcoins are encouraged that it be an amount that they can stay without, the investment you have started for your friend can go two different ways. Your friend due to hardship and the difficulty he is facing may decide to sell off the bitcoins after a while of keeping it to sort his needs, or he may take your first investment for him as a push for him to start investing any amount he can get and spare into bitcoins.

If as you said, he likes Bitcoin but has not been able to invest because of funds constraints. This would mean that he already knows what is needed in terms of securing his gift, then I believe he would be most delighted to receive Bitcoin as a Gift.

I agree with some of the members who pointed out that we already have topics like this and that everyone should use the forum search option more - but for me, the fact that someone wants to give something to someone as a gift is not a very important issue here - I would first ask myself how to do it on a safe and appropriate way so that everything is not in vain.

In my opinion, it would be appropriate to first gift a hardware wallet to a friend or teach him how to use a non-custodial wallet, and only then consider a gift in the form of BTC. Of course, all this in order to prevent the surprise from turning into an unpleasant surprise in the future.

0.03 BTC is currently around $750, which is tons of money (I don't understand how some see it as just a normal amount, not a huge one). I'd say it's too much as far as most birthday presents go, but I don't see why anyone would be unhappy with such a present. Some things to consider are whether Bitcoin is legal and easily exchangeable or usable in your country, and whether you'd be okay with your friend deciding to sell it for fiat. If you'd be offended by your friend selling it, maybe gifting it isn't a good idea. Or you should gift a smaller amount, that way the motivation to sell will be lower.

That's a beautiful and creative idea for a birthday present IMO! If your friend is interested in Bitcoin, then receiving some as a gift could be a unique and exciting experience for him It's also great that you're considering their financial situation and finding a way to give them something they enjoy without putting a strain on their budget.
As for the amount, 0.03BTC may not seem like a big amount of money but it's still a valuable and significant gift. Plus, the value of Bitcoin can go higher over time and that gift may get more valuable with time. There are some companies that offers plastic cards but be carful as the incident happened here in bitcointalk

Gifting money isn’t sometimes seen as valuable gift because it could be use easily. Imagine having to gift someone  something he actually has, more so money gifts is seen as a random gesture done to kids and if the person already has knowledge of bitcoin then it falls in same category. I have seen people cherishing material stuffs which could not be worth much than been gifted with money. As a friend think of what your the person cherishes so much then try to get him that. But just like what BlackHatCoiner said if you think he is obsessed with bitcoin and might be all over the place then gift it to him. That also might depend on the person’s worth, to some so rich fellows 0.03 might seems little to them considering your friendship status

Individuals expect getting a gift on their birthday. How about receiving a gift at an unexpected moment, would it be surprising? Yes, ofcourse.

But, if you give him something he like but at an unexpected moment, he will undoubtedly be surprised. Bitcoin is a good one.

This is a good thing to do towards helping your friend have a financial future with bitcoin, there's no way he will ever wanted to make a refusal since he's receiving it as a birthday present, but before then, we need to talk on how you can make this presentation, the first step begins with introducing bitcoin to your friend, teach him the basic knowledge and help him towards creating a  decentralized bitcoin wallet address which is what you will eventually use as the address you will be sending him the bitcoin gift, he will need to first have an idea on bitcoin so to be able to value and cheriah the gift whenever been presented.

What if you suddenly receive a gift from someone in the form of Bitcoin?
Of course the answer will be the same, pleasure cannot be hidden especially at the same time you really need money for other needs in real life. You will not find a different answer here. Bitcoin is another form of money, someone who has just received a salary from his work in a month will be very happy, let alone receive Bitcoin for free.
