That certainly depends on the ICO, if the project is really worthy and honest it just needs some money to start, but in this sphere appeared a lot of fake ICO's which steal money and make bad reputation about cryptoworld.

if you're referring to scam sellers, well it's case with many of them. But not all of them, so don't generilize. Rather be clever and find the real projects that can succeed

Well there are plenty of risks that the money you send in disappears (45% success rate, possible scam, possible hack) and you have the associated opportunity cost of locking up your eth for sometime. Still the returns are pretty good

I agree with you. Most of the ICO's are fake and scam, they want to take the investors money and fade away, without being chased or anything, that is why they are still doing this. not as you think, although I admit, ico project is potentially a scam. and infestations on ico are more at risk than buying altcoins in exchange.

ICO projects is ome of the way to get tokens withoit investing but this is not an easy way to earn because many ICO out there is scam and after the ICO you can't get even 1token from them but There are few ICO that can give you tokens to earn and the ICO become scam maybe they don't reach what they expected to have or they just want money .
