It can be good because you buy coin/token at low price and if it succeeds it returns a good profit. But also it is very risky because
1. there are a lot of scammers, raises fund and disappears
2. price can go to zero, crap project etc.
3. crypto market volatile nature, you can easily lose money you invested

Yes ico is another good form of investment but keep in mind that there is risk involved in investing in ico. That our money will grow or not or the worst case scenario is the developer or admin will do ico just to scam investor.
