I recently bought little "FUSION" (FSN). There was a lot of FUD concerning this project.
ICO price was 0.0025 ETH, it is traded on Bibox now for 0.0032 ETH. Around 20% profit. However some scam ICO can really go down a lot upon release.

I think buying coins during ICO is only profitable, if the project is good. Otherwise, the price of most coins goes down after the ICO. It would be better if you buy when it is listed on Etherdelta.

How often does the price get lower than the ICO price when a new coin is listed on its first exchange house ?

How come there are coins that are worth like 0.0004 $, usually during an ICO one coin is sold in the range of 1$ or not ?

Do some "coins" skip the ICO stage ?

As i see it, there are pros and cons to both. If you buy during ICO, you can avail of their big bonus once you purchase early. You will have more token that you intend to buy. If you will buy later on the exchange, there is a chance that those token's value will decrease compare to it's original price during ICO thus making you buy more. But that is not always the case, sometimes price pump-up after it hit the exchange.

So, to be safe i would rather buy during on ICO at early stage to avail of big bonus mostly 50%.

If you are real investor you should take a risk to invest in ico also to take the advantage to get a bonus but you should analyze the project of the ico by reading their white paper. But if you are not sure and dont take a big risk it was ok to wait the coin in exchange.

Now i want to recommend to invest in VLB ICO which has on going presale until March 12 and they giving 30% bonus to all participants.

VLB is a utility token based in ERC20 protocol also this token can be used in any services involving vehicles. Aside of that this token will be open to be tradable coin.

When the coin's price drops after ICO, its usully not worth getting into at all. Look for practical projects that have palce in real-life industries, not just something relevant in crypto-sphere or even just Internet.
Take a look at VLB. I wont be surprised if actual industry titans will want to buy their tokens from people after ICO is done. And they will be able to pay a lot to get them. Which, probably, means, that exchange price will go up.

In my opinion, it is better to find ICO which is conducted on the DEX (Decentralised exchanges).

The most of the privacy coins are undervalued right now.

The best opportunity is to find a privacy-related project with a low total supply (less than 100M), that way the price will be increasing much faster.

I recently found one project called Ethereum Meta, it is related to anonymity and untraceable transaction. They have a very interesting project to build the Anonymous E-Market Place.

They are on Pre-ICO stage right now, you can check their website: http://ethermeta.com/
Or even better go through their Bitcointalk thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/future-of-privacy-ethereum-meta-foundation-of-anonymous-e-marketplace-2659058

Hard question. For example, to be honest, the current period is not quite suitable for ICO, in this regard, many projects postpone ICO until next month. Almost all projects that entered the market within the last 20 days, fell in price

buy later if price goes low ,
buy never if price goes higher than ico .

if any ico is really best then buy at time of ico .

other choice is buy from bounty hunters .

It depends on the buyer. At ICO token can be underestimated (+bonuses), and if you are sure it is a real thing, go ahead and earn!

if ico gets sold out in hours and get listed on exchanges soon , then pricing normally higher than ICO .
and in case if ico takes time to reach its target sale then  pricing may be lower .
many other facts like market situation , project speed , etc plays role in pricing .

so choose wisely , better to invest later if you have limited funds .

Depending on bonus during ICO. But the main point is when the coin will be listed, so you better listen when devs plan to be listed on an exchange. If it will be listed on ''negative''period ( like right now) - the coin most certainly will go down significantly and you will get a chance to buy it far cheaper than during ICO ( bonuses including). Otherwise, it will be better to invest during ICO.

Well for now, it really depends compare to the previous year where 80% of the ICO will just skyrocket when list on exxchange

Coins are range within $0.0000001 - $1000 because of its supply and coin nature. Some coins with lesser supply will be sold within the range of $1

Yes, some coins doesn't conduct ICO and coin generation method will be either POS/POW

I've participated in a few ICO's, Some did great some not so great.
I've put more into exisiting than ICO. I dont like to tied up my money waiting for the MOON or LAMBO to happen.

Participate in ICO don't always work. Sometimes minimum purchase limit too high, or you don't want participate in KYC. In this case, participation in ICO pools can be a solution.

Buy ico price will be cheaper, but if the coin does not have the future, then up to the exchange, price will be cheaper than ico Grin Grin

Here everything depends on the particular project, and on the price of the token.
in the early days of ICO it is nice to invest as they give bonus tokens.

I think I prefer to buy coin when pre ico because there are many discounts,
usually the initial listing in the market price may drop to 1/4 of ico price, but it will reach the ico price if the project goes well.
and if coin enter a big market then the price can be 2 × ico price even more..

Buying during ICOs is good and sometimes better. I have seen tokns get listed in exchanges at a ×10 of the ICO price and this means all those who bought in during ICO made a good profit. But it's not the same for every other ones, some go below ICO price when listed on exchanges, so, basically, it's just a kind of gamble. But in overall, buying during ICO is more safer.
The fact is that the token to buy on ico is much more profitable than on the exchange. For investors, bonuses and discounts are always provided.

If you like the crypto project, and you think that it has good prospects, it is better to purchase coins in the pre-sale, when they give a bonus.
