It is all about natural risk. You can buy tokens on exchange but there will hardly be any gains, or little. Sure but not much profitable. At ICO you have some risks but you can gain something, plus bonuses

For me you should do participating in ICO's first to earn more altcoins and to buy bitcoin or ether later, Because this cryptocurrencies and wallet Coinbase are easy to exchange and inconvenience to trade or purchase.

How often does the price get lower than the ICO price when a new coin is listed on its first exchange house ?

How come there are coins that are worth like 0.0004 $, usually during an ICO one coin is sold in the range of 1$ or not ?

Do some "coins" skip the ICO stage ?

It is better to buy coins when conducting an ICO (the main thing is to choose a good project). After the release of coins on the exchange, the price may increase significantly than with ICO and you will increase your investment several times.

This is very convenient if you set a limit on the minimum wage, which is very high for you. Or if your country does not have the opportunity to participate.

It depends on you. for example when you see an ico of course you have an assessment of the project.
But, my suggestion if u still want to buy.
Try to buy just on presale / preico.
the possibility falling into the presale price is small.

I think mostly you have to buy the coins at the time of ICO only because after listing exchanges they are giving around more profit compared to buying them in the stock market, so it is always good to find the company which gives more returns after listing in exchanges.

Recently ICOs have earned a lot of quality. 3-4 months ago I bought it from the stock market. But now quality ICOs are investing very fast.

If you want to invest in a popular ICO then it is better to invest in the primary stage.( For Example- Electronium , the users failed to access their wallet even after the 1 month of the official launching date but it kept on increasing in the exchange. ) But if the ICO is less popular then it is better to wait for the coin to be listed in any exchange website.

If you do not know how to differentiate between a scam and a legit ICO, I suggest you wait for the coin to be listed on an exchange. But if you make a research on a certain ICO, I suggest you to buy on their ICO, their coins are much cheaper.

It's all up to your own researches.
Nowadays, there are so many scammers in ICO or real ICO tele groups.
Must be very careful now.

Yeah, there are a lotof ICO that we need to be carefull of..

But if the ICO project is good, promising, which is not a cam, Buying the coin from ICO price will give us the most profit in the future ~

It's not that simple to predict for newcomer. Because many even bad ICO have good marketing and most people will not aware of the "red flags" like very big(50%+) bonuses for early investors or hiding information about how much money were collected from them or don't have public source code on github. Or some of the team members were involved in shady projects with bad reputation in the past, etc.

Depends on the coin/project.  In good exchange, seldom can you buy a good coin lower than ICO price.

The ones that dip below are usually shit coins OR listed on bad exchange (or both).

Yes some get listed w/o going through ICO

If to many token are given at the airdrop phase...generaly the token price downs.
My WINSPIRAL(WSPRL) Token can only goes up because it is 100% airdrop.
Wait until you see MY ACTIVITY TOKENS a.k.a (ACY) 100% legit only moving up, because you know, I have 20.6M out of 21M total supply, totally airdropped on myself, because I am entitled to people's money, I have worked my ass off (begged for 1 Waves to issue them, had to put up with 40 bounty hunters and send them 400K, had to pay 0.001 for each transaction) so much work, that's why I want to keep and have everything for myself.
here you need to look at the team, the idea and the overall prominence of the project. popular projects attract investors after ico, their rate should not fall much, for example I can bring SirinLabs, qash. look at them and draw conclusions.
I have concluded they all are useless crap coins.

I have stopped buying ICO. The many scams. In particular those who advertise on this page. Hope Earn.com gets lucky with their ICO advertisements. If companies have to pay $ 1 per contact I think they are more serious. Maybe regulation will help. We see what happens 2018.
If you have stopped buying ICO advertised on this page, why would you advertise your own ICO? I could sell you some merits since I'm a merit source (note, I'm lying, we all know theymos doesn't want beggars rank up and occupy server storage, because he has to pay for them, like Bitcoin is not scaling by block size increase, because somebody doesn't want to pay for 10TB of storage on thousands of full nodes with every 1MB block size increase). no scam, I just hope that you could take my words for it.

If a coin dumps a lot after being introduced on exchanges, often the coins were sold in the presale for a significantly lower price compared to the price during crowdsale. Often angel investors (whales) buy massive volume and need to get rid of it as soon as possible to get those funds back. Often you can skip ICO and buy cheaper after launch at exchanges, but this is a gamble.

Things obviously relate to supply, mc and how strong the product/project & team is...

I often buy partly during crowdsale and double up upon launch when it drops below ICO price.

It is much more advantageous to join the ICO from your project that you have researched and trusted. You sure made it better.

hardcap ico's tend to do better than non capped ico's, since alot of these project now arent asking for a ton of money like before if you can jump on a good project you can make a killing.

Depend on which ico. If the coin or token have a real project and the price is not too high like $0.01 to $0.10 better buy on pre ico or ico phase. But if the price arround $2 or $1 usually the price will goes down. And also its depend when the ico happen, if ico happen when the price of btc and eth spike usually the price of token also will spike when hit market and vice versa..

I think that you need to log-on on ico half and half to buy on the exchange, because you can not guess the coin shoot or not. So it is better to analyze and calculate risks.
