It's always you who's responsible for this. For instance, I store all my funds in my Freewallet app and I have 2fa and PIN set, so it's almost impossible to steal my coins.
OP taking example by using coinbase which is centralized exchange providing online wallet. you don't have the private key to access your account and all is stored within the exchange wallet. If security breach happens, the exchange will be the one who take the blame. Frankly, there are some wallets floating around google play store or any mobile apps that are actually exchange wallet. OP's case could be the best reference to deal with those wallet.

Agree, if the event is in the exchanger and occurs on all accounts, then the exchanger should be responsible for compensating the loss suffered by the customer. On the other hand, customers or investors should not keep coins or tokens in the exchanger because they do not hold control over the coins or tokens so that in my opinion it is better to store them in our own wallet

By the chance of having our funds missing or taken out by someone that isn't us. The percentage of who should be responsible varies. If you think your account is already secured (using security feautures such as 2FA and more), then its balance just disappeared suddenly without trace, it is the responsibility of the exchange that there is a malfunction in their system. But with the evemt where you can see someone accessed your account, it is 50/50 chance that it is by your mistake with the support of the lack of security feautures of the exchange.

The exchange should generally be responsible for any sort of hacks and should at least partially compensate those who are affected, but at the end of the day there doesn't seem to be anything concrete to hold the exchanges to refunding users after funds are stolen, not to mention it's usually not an easy task to get stolen coins back (if they can ever be retrieved), thus you should always prepare for the worst and keep your coins off an exchange and in your own wallet whenever possible.

With wallets that may be true, but I guess the OP is talking about accounts in cryptocurrency exchanges. If someone hacks the exchange accounts, then you can't just blame the users. The exchanges should also bear a part of the blame. Here, security precautions such as 2FA and email verification are the responsibility of the exchanges. I own accounts in several cryptocurrency exchanges, and till now none of them have got hacked. But some of my friends were victims of such hacks. And they never got any sort of compensation from the exchanges.

if I've created account/wallet on coinbase or any other exchange then my account is hacked and my coins/money lost who are responsible for it
The Exchange where I've created account Huh

I guess it will be mainly your responsibility because it is your account. Upon registering your account it has been your responsibility to take care of it and anything that will happen to it must be taken up into you. On the other hand, the hacker do also have the responsibility because he is the one who have hacked your account just to take it into his own possession also for the sake of his own. But primarily speaking, it will be your main fault because maybe you have mishandled your account and did not take good care of the informations you have shared upon creating your account. Also, before creating an account, you must have checked first if the site you are trying to create an account is legible and a secure website. Because in most cases, intruders have been taken accounts due to the reasons that you have dive in into their trap site and filled in the information they needed to access your account. So whenever you create account, you must observe first and be able to know if the site is safe or not before creating an account. Upon securing your account, choose the most tight option on securing your account which exchanges do provide to keep your account safe. You can also ise hardware wallets to protect your assets. But most specially, you must be able to protect your account on your own by taking precautionary measures.

Well for me you cannot really blame someone just because they got hacked. Hackers will find a way if they really want to hack your account. The only thing you can do is to maximize the security that you have. If they have a double authenticator, use it to protect all of your coins in your wallet. Do not be lazy to set up the security of your account because that is for your own safety.
I don’t understand people who don’t use 2FA on their wallets or on their exchanges and then they say that their money was stolen and blame someone. they don’t understand that hacking 2FA is very difficult and hackers will only do this if you have a lot of money in your wallet and that is why for those people who do not have millions of dollars in their wallets, 2FA is perfect as a free tool of protecting their money
Actually there are records of some people who got hacked despite enabling the 2FA whether through SMS or app. But I guess right by now all the problems have been fixed and I haven't seen any hacking ever since. Most of exchanges already require 2FA to be enabled before giving the permission to withdraw or deposit so I guess this problem only happen in unpopular exchange with less security measures.

Surely the exchange where you have created an account is responsible for the loss of your coins. You should also share some amount of the problem as you should conduct a research beforehand since mostly bad exchanges have been hacked. You get your loss recovered if the hacked exchange is reputed and good.
That's not exchange's fault if only the amount from his wallet got stolen. Exchanges can be hacked but with coinbase, it has not happened so OP got hacked via malware installed on his device or his email account got compromised so hacker got the access to his wallet.

Of course, if you want the safest property, you should only store on the top 3 exchanges because they have enough prestige and financial resources and there is always a compensation policy if the user's assets are hacked, but there are also The remaining exchange still does not guarantee 100% compensation if the user's assets are hacked

the culprit in your case can not be found

you need to use only reliable exchanges with good protection
do not store a large number of coins on it

That is your responsibility. You should already know the answer. Before you create an account, there is an agreement, you should read carefully. Storing accounts securely is very easy. You just have to store it in various online stores, such as Gdrive, Dropbox, cloud, and others. And provide double security such as G2FA, verify cellphone number.
True I strongly agree with you and besides you and you only who's accountable on your account. Whatever happens, it will bounce back to you because you are the one who's managing your account and if it will be hacked well, of course, that is your fault. Make sure always that your account is secured to avoid casualties.
Of course, for personal property, under the guarantee of each individual, if it is lost or damaged, the fault is always the owner because right from the start of the process of creating accounts, most websites require multiple layers of security, they have very clearly warned of dangers when we do not follow instructions, and they will not be responsible for such losses. And if we have completed all these upgrades and still lost suddenly, reputable websites will be responsible for compensation, but again, it's a reputable site
Indeed, that is your fault if your account is being hacked because you are the one who is responsible for taking care of your account, there are lots of tips I can give you so that you can secure your account. Number one is that if binding it into another account like Facebook and Gmail, do that for you to recover your account if someone tries to open your account. The second one is that you should not trust websites that needs your personal information or do not click any links that are suspicious because that's the hackers can access your account. You should not trust online storage, because some online storage can be accessed by them, I recommend if you save different files that includes your account information. And make every copy that you are the only one who can open.

If everything is lost and the exchange didn't do any action of it, then the responsible is in you and the exchange because you put all your money on that exchanges and the exchanges didn't add extra security to protect their users. if you want not to hack your funds then put your tradable altcoins that you can withdraw immediately, don't hold it on exchanges.

The exchange will be responsible if the attack came from them, the user will be responsible if they were backed. Security is a collective responsibility, both users and exchanges.

IMO.. if the account that you registered at one of the exchanges is hacked then the one who has the right to be responsible is you yourself because you are not maximally secure your account every transaction, but if many accounts on the exchange are hacked then the developer responsible is the exchange due to security they are very weak

and how i make my account safe  Huh
maximize the security provided by the exchange (enable the Authenticator feature), clean your laptop/computer regularly, do not carelessly install applications and secure your internet network.

If this is not a large-scale attack or fraud on the part of the company, I advise you to be careful with your data and keep passwords and private keys in a secure place (there is a thread on the forum dedicated to the secure storage of keys and passwords).

There are many reasons lead to your account being hacked. That might be your fault if your password is weak, or leaked somewhere or the wallet provider if their security is bad.
that is a reasonable reason. but sometimes some hackers can indeed access the wallet with weak security. even security as tight as large exchanges can also be hacked. it does not close the possibility with our wallet both online and offline.

It seems to me no matter who is to blame. If the money is not returned. If your money cannot be returned. So just do not work with this exchange, add complexity at the entrance. And if they returned the money to you, then I recommend staying with these people, but to protect themselves, maybe they do not have the safest network, but they hold on to their people.
