If the internet will be down in the future, the crypto industry will undoubtedly stop as well.
Is the crypto industry the one thing that is running this world?
I dont get the point why everyone is obsessed with the internet shutting down - seriously speaking, if that would happen, then every service being provided that depends on a working internet will also shut down -
there will be total chaos in a country and in such a war like situation, crypto is not the primary concern, but people's lives are. Are you all daft that you dont realize this?
And would a government really want such things to happen? Think logically and rationally. There is a difference between being skeptical and being delusional.
In regards to bolded part, guess that's possible in countries that heavily rely on the internet.
I think a true cryptocurrency shouldn't totally rely on the internet in that manner because the internet isn't really decentralized. A true cryptocurrency shouldn't be based on centralized infrastructure otherwise that can be consider a point of failure for the cryptocurrency.
I think some sort of crypto that is backed by physical assets will continue to operate locally without the internet and could operate like xender or similar apps. This shouldn't be too difficult to create. Infact, existing apps could be modified and used for that purpose.
