I don't think there is a specific wallet that is safe and secure. Not all wallets are safe and it is better to keep your money in different wallets than a specific wallet because if your account is hacked, you cannot get your money.
Don't panic. The market is falling yes, and everyones' portfolio is also decreasing. You have a good portfolio, but I would recommend to sell Ripple and invest in more perspective alts. Just sell your Ripple part and divide it in five parts and invest in real crypto currencies that you like.
No need to afraid in crypto, because do invest with small amount and get experience as much you can. do research on crypto before you invest it is also helps you to be strong in crypto-world.
The best wallet to store your token is using the exchange, i think store your wallet in MEW isn't good especially you access your wallet using private key and not using trezor or nano ledger. Keep your coins in big exchange like coinbase it will be safe.

If you want to one safest wallet for your three coin include Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple , I suggest you should choice Trezor wallet. I am using it and I see it is the best wallet with me now
I will say money and risk goes along by sides and there are many wallets which affects people's coins this days and many complains on many wallets but there are relevant wallets which can be more trusted like going for hardware wallets like Ledger nano or MEW...this two are trusted wallet so far to me and there have been positive comments on it and the system of operating is good and standard. Risk is part of Cryptocurrency and this can come in many ways. It's important not to panic even when our money gets reduced by our wallet I believe it will recover as long as the market gets better. Some people panic not because there coin is stolen but reduces and this is not a big reason to panic and change wallet. The more you transfer your coin after lost is of no good profit for your coins.
I am using Binance exchange to trade and to store it's safe and secured.and this cryptocurrency is very risk so be careful with your money and if the coin value comes low you can make it for long term hodl so you can get profits.select the best altcoins or invest in bitcoin itself.
It is very important to use a good wallet and there are some hard wallet that can help in this area but what people forget to realize is the the hardwallet is as good as the owner, if the owner is not security conscious and is not taking the right precautions and not careless with his wallet, I think you should be fine

We have many wallet but the big wallet you mentioned to have issue these days seem not to clear to me or you are talking about MEW which I think is safe if you protect it with Metamask and we still have coinomi, trust wallet and imtoken even hard ware wallet too and am sure you can't have issue with them except if you compromise your private key and password .

I does not know which wallet function you will prefer but i am using metamask for quite sometime and everything works normally, if you got no special request you should try using metamask you will like it. A word of advice is that when you try sending coins to exchange you never use before send the minimum amount to test it out if everything goes well then send the remaining coins/
