I think most of the people here have the same reasons why dumping, because it costs money or because the token doesn't have much progress (it has a small volume and doesn't have any updates)
When people are seeing the project didn't have a lot of potentials and then they will be dumping their tokens to the market. Their decision will be affected by the progress that has already made by the team and how good the product that has already released.

Dumping my coins if I see the trend in the market is dumping, investors will not dump if they did not see something wrong on the project, the developers could be out or the roadmap is not happening or people find out that the platform is none existence worse thing that you could happen is if you did not dump at the right time.
This is what I think! I will dump my coin if I see there is anything wrong. Investing is not easy, doing good researches help us to filter good projects to invest. However, it can't guarantee for the long-way. Instead, we have to follow along the team and their updates to know whether they're leading the projects in the right way or not. If I have any doubt and others think the same, I will dump my coins immediately to reduce the risk!

I only have 2 reason why I dump my coins:
1st is I need cash and I want to buy something.
2nd is if I don't think that the project or coin wouldn't have any higher value as it is before I dump it.
this is the excuse that many people use when selling an asset. however, there could be other reasons why they sold their coins. that is, they sometimes only focus on holding a few coins. for example, that person only detained ethereum and BNB. so, if there were any coins that could be sold, they would sell them just to increase the amount of the two coins they hold.

Whenever I receive my bounty rewards I just sell it directly because there are chances that the token might turn into nothing and that's why I don't hold it.
That is then usual thinking of a bounty hunter. Of course we want to take profit once we aready get our rewards, plus some tokens are ending up as shitcoins if you missed the time to sell when it has still volume. I also sell if I dont see any potential for the project to have good development.
bounty hunter participants are not the main reason for the drop in cryptocurrency prices, there are cases when they have bounty campaign participants, the price is still expensive and many participants get profit when the price rises, because all cryptocurrency projects will have a price depending on the project developed.

I don't plan on dumping any coins now because I really can't tell what will happen in near future, some have bad value and few are average in value, I personally picked those coins my self and I believe a good unexpected turn will happen

you have the same reason as me because currently holding the coins we get from the bounty is too risky. I have tried to hold the coins I got from the bounty at the beginning of the payment and after that the price was getting lower and lower and I thought it was better to throw it away before the value of the coins I got was getting less no valuable.

You didn't mention dumping to take profit after a pump, very good reasons you gave here. Most crypto investors dump coins when price starts going down badly, even at massive loss. However, it's unwise to dump coins just because price is going down, if the underlying reason for the dump is not scam or legal issues etc.

throwing away coins because coins have no movement in the market there is always bad news and lack of updates or the project owner does not care or even just disappears

because
The coin is not progressing and I want to buy coins that has more potential.

The question is whether the coin is a dumping pack or if it has a real value. If the second is the case then hodling will be better. I also hodl some coin but they have to be useful coins. Or you can trade them too.

I'm usually a holder I still coins and tokens I've got from Bounty campaign just like the two of the just recent projects I've participated in I'm still holding both of them but there are instances in the past that I dump my coins/tokens  because
The coin is not progressing and I want to buy coins that has more potential.

So what is or are your reason why you are dumping your coin?

If the token reached its highest level and made a profit, then I would sell it or exchange it for the best tokens in the market. If the tokens that you have are not progressing, then you may be in a bear market, and after the market rises, The price of the tokens will rise rapidly, I advise you not to sell the tokens and hold them for the long term because the return will be greater than if you sell them at a low price.

Very few ICO projects are making great strides in promoting their project and token price. In addition, for altcoins from the first half of 2018, this period has not been entirely successful in terms of price growth. Therefore, those who almost immediately dumped the received tokens as a result of participating in ICO bounty campaigns and exchanged them for bitcoin or ethereum turned out to be in profit.
However, I think there is still a good time for potential altcoins.

It is is you choice what you do with your coin. I am sure in this space people regard at different time.  One can sell it and price goes up or hold it goes down. We are currently experiencing a kind of bull you can decide to hold the new coins

I also want to hold my coins but due to my needs I always end up dumping my crypto.
I could only hold small amount of it because of this pandemic I need to convert some of it into Fiat just to make it through.
