Any estimates as to the value of a red OCS stamp, since there are only three that exist? I heard that the OCS stamps will have a different physical appearance from the other 149,500 crypto stamps. A "1 of 3" stamp from the Austrian Post Office should be super valuable, no?

Look at the current eBay prices for the red stamps. I think you can do the math for a limited 1 of 3 stamp Grin.

Excellent link! Thanks!

Need to read it 2-3 times or more, but there seems to be indeed a difference between the OnChain ones and the others.
Also, it is not clear if the OnChain ones look different, I'm still waiting for mine, so I don't know at the moment...

So, if I'm correct, each stamp of the 149,500 is sold with it's wallet aside to its physical stamp-part.
To start with selling digitally, you'll need to scratch...

1 of the 500 OnChain stamps is already in the buyer's wallet, and can already be sold through for example Metamask to another address,
without scratching, since it is already digitally.

(The first one who lets the stamp ship to his address, had the physical form, this doesn't have to be the first owner,
it only can happen once though)

Here is the text you'll get when entering 1 of the 500 OnChain assets on https://crypto.post.at/CS1/... (asset):

" ... TRANSFER YOUR CRYPTO STAMP:
As the owner of this crypto stamp, you can transfer this asset to any wallet. You can use the following form for this. The transaction is created in your browser and only passed in encrypted form to the blockchain. Important: Please make sure that the receiver wallet can handle at least ERC-20 tokens, ideally also with ERC-721.
Start transaction ... "

Which is a difference when entering 1 of the 149,500:

" ... TRANSFER YOUR CRYPTO STAMP:
This crypto stamp was bought with a paper wallet. To transfer them to another wallet - for example, the one you already use - you can use the code located on the right part of the mark under Rubbelfeld [3] to start the transfer here.

In this case the owner of 1 of the 500 OnChain stamps should be able to sell it twice (physically and digitally)
if he lets it send physically to his address.

I do wonder what happens if it is sold already digitally, and when the physical owner scratches the scratch part  Grin
Perhaps they come without scratch part  Roll Eyes

So, the stamps for sale on opensea.io would be or the scratched physical ones, transferred digitally, or 1 of the 500 (without scratching)...

All really simple isn't it!  Huh Roll Eyes Grin Wink

Hi!

When a physical stamp is bought on ebay (for example "Code [1]: 4ouHxo"),
is it possible the digital stamp (which is still in the first owner's ETH wallet) can be sold as well to someone else?

Meaning, the stamp "Code [1]: 4ouHxo" is physical sold to person "A" through ebay,
AND "Code [1]: 4ouHxo" is sold as well digitally to person "B" trough "opensea.io"

The same question but regarding a stamp bought trough OnChain-Shop
I own a stamp "Code [1]: 71Qrnr", physical AND digital (in my ETH wallet)

Is it possible to sell "Code [1]: 71Qrnr", physically trough ebay AND
sell "Code [1]: 71Qrnr" digitally trough "opensea.io"?

Just wondering...

Thanks!

Regards

Good question...but wouldn't they have to remove the scratch off from the stamp and sweep the digital code in order to do this?

From a physical perspective, yes, I think so, but the digital examples just is sold through opensea.io, which is perfectly possible,
because it is for example from mine wallet to your wallet, but if I also have the physical stamp, I just can sell this on ebay as well, no?

You can sell the physical anywhere really...but how do you get to the digital version of the physical stamp is the question no?

That is one of the questions indeed ;-)

It seems IMHO the physical stamp can be sold as like everything on ebay, and yes, probably when you want to send this physical stamp to your wallet or another wallet, you'll need to scratch, but if you already bought this stamp through OnChain-shop, you'll probably just can transfer (sell) it without scratching (I think), and sell it physically as well.

The interesting part is, you can buy a stamp through OnChain-shop, but you don't have to have it send physically to you...
But you can sell it already...

So I think when it is bought OnChain, you can sell it twice, if you have the physical one too...

Which is weird!

So, for example, it is possible I have the physical stamp and you have the digital???

Or I'm missing something...

Quick question for the online orders, does anyone had tracking number on their order? mine looked something like this "RR xx xxxxxx x AT"

They provided tracking over a certain amount of $$ in purchase..I believe over $35.

Thank You..

I now have a complete collection of OCS stamps (On Chain Store), of which there are only 500. None of these have been shipped and can still be claimed online and shipped to any address. There are only 3 red OCS stamps, so this will be a rare collection.

Not actually looking to sell, although every man has his price.

https://opensea.io/bundles/complete-set-of-ocs-stamps-unshipped

How the onchain shop (500 limited edition stamps) differentiates from the rest 149500 stamps? The physical stamp that you receive from the onchain shop (after filling the form with shipping address details) is the same as the rest of the physical stamps? Since you receive the digital token at the time of purchase, how the physical token looks like? (ie the right silver scratching area with the digital token is missing?)

For what I know the only difference is related the way you can buy the item and not the stamp itself.
But lets see if Austrian postage will provide a special cover/physical support to stamps redeemed.

What is the difference between a stamp from physical shop and a stamp from onchain store?

@krogoth, nice chart. Again, had I known of the different colours, I would most definitely have bought a lot more than I did. But like you said, better to have the few than none at all. Seems my most efficient chance for a red would have been at under 100 orders.

Question for you philatelic guys. Do you think stamped stamps going to cost more than unstamped ones (mint)? I know it varies in the actual stamp world, my dad explained to me before that some stamps have a high mint population and some used ones are very rare.

I don't expect many people will be using their stamps to post stuff, and I got two stamped anyway, so those who bought like I did probably helped make the mint ones get more scarce heh.

All depends...like you said...how many are mint compared to how many stamped.

I prefer stamped to have been mailed not just stamped. In other words...gone thru postal system on an envelope. Those will be the rarest of all as most likely nobody has bought them to be used.

Also the first day covers will be rare as well.

AGREE!
Probably there are just few full cover used on first day.

First Day Cover (Envelope used on first day of emission 11 June 2019)

First Day Cover Single stamp used-scratched (Rare)  (Used by Austrian Postage Shop)
First Day Cover Single stamp used-not scratched (Rare+) (Used by any postage office)
Full Cover First Day - stamp used-scratched (Rare+++) (Used by any postage office) #
Full Cover First Day - stamp used-not-scratched (Rare+++) (Used by any postage office) #
# Very rare, but mostly created ad hoc by collectors/speculators

And for the math geeks, here are your chances for red stampa depending on your size of order (numbers on x-axis):

DARK BLUE = Chance to get exactly ONE red stamp.
RED = Chance to get exactly TWO red stamps.
YELLOW = Chance to get exactly THREE red stamps.
GREEN = Chance to get exactly FOUR red stamps.
DARK LIGHT BLUE = Chance to get FIVE OR MORE red stamps.
BROWN = Chance to get exactly NINE red stamps.

I received my huge two-stamp order today (i didn't know that shipping was free with three stamps).  i downloaded the QR-Code Scanner app and found i got a black and a green one.

The envelope looked quite water damaged, but i was lucky that the stamps were put in wax paper.  The stamps are quite rigid and heavy which adds to their appeal.  Nothing like our flimsy US postal stamps.

Once i found out how collectible they were, i ordered 25 more.  Hopefully, that order gives me a red and a yellow.  Fingers crossed.
