I'm still quite interested in what happened after the hack. Is there any police report?
I think, BTC worth over 1kk stolen is very well worth calling the police, although it's "only" virtual currency. Other people call the police for a stolen watch...

lol who you going to call when "dark pools" get jacked? now this is funny!!!  Cheesy

The refund address must be same with email address input.io ? If I want use wallet that does not use email address how to refund it ?
If you have a significant amount that's worth the trouble of verifying identity, [email protected]

TradeFortress: what did the police say? Is the server already being investigated?

quack
So who believes a anonymous person makes a service, keeps most of the funds in hot wallet and then claims it was hacked?

Also for the newbies and others: TradeFortress is NOT a trustful person as we've witnessed several times in the past. You can search for "Ripple social experiment" where newbies lost a lot real bitcoins when they did what TradeFortress told them to do inside Ripple trust network to get a free bitcoin (which they never got, obviously.) You can also search for stuff about some websites he has programmed for clients, unauthorized pentesting (hacking attempting) on them etc... And he's on the default trust list of this forums, I still don't know why.

He's anonymous, is he?

I only received 8.59 out of 20.795 (41%). $3700 loss so far. Undecided

However, my big deposit was at Coinlenders.  The extent to which deposits intended for loans (how else could they earn interest?) were instead sitting in the inputs.io hot wallet is very worrisome. Were new CL deposits primarily being used to payoff CL withdrawals or to provide loans?

What is the current balance between CL deposits and loans?

Got an 80% refund. something is happening for sure. That seems like a decent turn of event to me.

roughly how much?
>10BTC?
> 50BTC?
if you don't mind I ask

Refunds are based on the amount, and a higher refund % means they withdrew less coins than you, and vice versa.

is this project offline now? I've been giving you free promotion for the past couple of months! =) any word? I liked the idea~fwiw

I love Bitcoin
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=283756.new#new

is the CL thread.

BTW: since coinlenders generates revenue, I won't accept anything less then my initial investment.

+1

All who are using CL should get at least initial investment back.
Maybe it will take a while to get the coins, since the people who took the loans might have a few weeks/months to repay.
But eventually all CL deposits should get refunded.

agreed..

As ironic as it may sound, not disclosing my identity publicly protects the safety of your coins against physical attacks of extortion. Many trusted members here, including Casascius and people who I have done business with knows my identity and address.

What is the most valuable thing in the Bitcoin world is reputation - security and trustworthiness. CoinLenders handles XX,XXX BTC sums and we have never been hacked.

Ok sent an email about an hour ago asking for refund, got about 60% back

Thank you TF, i suppose some bitcoins is better than none, I have lost bitcoins due to inputs.io but its admirable that TF has not done a runner

Its a sad day for bitcoins, I dont know how the price of 300$ + can be justified when the whole ecosystem resembles the wild west
