p2k - the one and only. Badass coder in several programming languages and for several platforms. Wannabe demosceener. Always moving with the bleeding edge in software engineering, never stopping, never giving up.

Now about to conquer Bitcoin with my skills. Already contributed quite some work to the Bitcoin Qt GUI last month (OS X support and deployment). After hitting 5 posts, I will announce my new pool software for which I've spent about 300 hours of work.
Welcome a'board P2K, you sound like you're coming late to the party, but 300 hours deep in a project?  That sounds like something to be excited about!

My introduction--and posting toward my 5 minimum.  My name is Dennis Wilson and I have a CafePress shop (see below) and have added several popular Bitcoin images to the numerous items offered by CafePress (including iPad and iPhone covers and messenger bags that are great for carrying laptops and tablets  Smiley ).

I used to accept payments in eGold before they got shut down by you-know-who. I am working on accepting payments using Bitcoins (CafePress does not accept them directly, but I will use a method similar to what I developed for eGold payments). I am very enthused about the peer-to-peer nature of Bitcoins--way far superior to eGold and the other electronic systems.

I hope you will browse thru my shop. If you like Bitcoins, you will probably find many other images in my shop that express your views.

Here is a repeat of my posting under Bitcoin Businesses:

please do so! and get a post Smiley
don't be so negative, the 5-post-4-hour-rule is there for a reason: to get rid of the trolls. NOT to piss newcomers off.

relax take it easy and smile. Cheesy

I really do not like this posting rule, even if it is to discourage trolls, maybe I don't have anything to say on the forums except occasionally when my input actually matters and not to just say hello.
But alas, hello. I go by T.

Anyone explain me why i should do the Bitcoin affair !
A big word game. A game of big words. A tragedy of arbitrary angry word choices.
Oh I do so love this game.

Affair, a particularly incendiary word, or at least it tries to be and of course it fails and simply says, "I'm just trying to make the fellow who speaks my name seem like an intellectual. It's a good career to have. You meet new people everyday, especially when the economy is bad."

Quote
Sounds like a lot off internet bullshit to me.

Bullshit. From the Internet. Only kind that scares me. Once I had a run in with a bullshit. But that was OK. It wasn't from the Internet. I sometimes hear sounds coming from my closet. I think it's an Internet bullshit. I'm afraid to look. But all in all I'm not afraid of bullshit. Just the Internet kind. Maybe I'm afraid of the Internet.

Are you afraid of the Internet, too? Can we be pen pals?

Can i use Bitcoin in a supermarket in the United Kingdom ?

Can you use yen? no? perhaps francs? not those either? what about marks? oh I know rupees! you must be able to use those? no. Are they Internet bullshits too?

Quote
Can i buy a Hamburger with Bitcoin, or do i have to bring my laptop ?

New York restaurants have terminals that accept Bitcoin. And all you need is a flash drive. A wallet that is smaller than your wallet. Sorry to be so blunt and direct, but you came into this community with guns drawn yelling at everyone, yet you have no anger to spare for those destroying your economy and no motivation to learn about how to fix it.

If i see a sweater and i want to buy it, the lady says, that ll be 50 bucks,
oh i m a bitcoiner, hahah.
Bitcoin is going to fail, hacked cracked tweaked etc etc..

Pretty soon you'll be using electronic cards which give you a day's wages and then you'll say, "I wish there were an alternative not centralized in the hands of my employer and the government which is a shell made up of banker and corporate interests."

Slow the f' down and listen.

Bitcoin is for lazy people who want to sit back and lett the computer do the work.

Bitcoin is a high speed race that makes it impossible to counterfeit. The only way to make coins is to run the race. And as long as no one has 50% of the network, no one can counterfeit. The reward for protecting the authenticity of the coins is 50 coins. It is also self regulated so that the puzzle gets harder if the production rate gets too big.

Quote
No wonder you can sleep well at night, you dont have to get up to go to work.

How does that feel, your computer with their cards running while your sleeping, how
bout electricity costs.
How bout turning in a computernerd, studying on cards building a rig.

It costs more in electricity for most people than the amount of Bitcoins they get. They do it to protect the coins from counterfeiting.

Quote
Internet is not a blessing, but more a curse, look at the bunch of bullshit it drags along in its slipstream !

So you really are afraid of the Internet.

Quote
Bitcoin has no charm, i can hold cash in my hand and spend it anywhere, everywhere in the world.

A coin that cannot be counterfeited because people have to race to try to do so. Plenty of charm.
Also we have bitbills already. And no one can steal the bitbills after they are spent because spending drains them.

But an intellectual such as yourself can't be bothered with things that have features which you have to think about rather than touch. An intellectual who hates the abstract. What a weird creature. An intellectual who is more interested in some shiny tinsel.

Quote
I can pay hookers with cash, you cant do that with Bitcoin,

I can buy porn with Bitcoin. I can buy diapers with Bitcoin. I can buy electronics with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is for nerds.

Anyone got more reasons not to use Bitcoin ??

I'm D'man. I've been playing around with bitcoins for about a month using various exchangers. Would love to leave a review for get-bitcoin.com. As soon as I have enough posts and 4 hours time, I'll leave a review. They do get it done within 24 hours. But I haven't experienced under 16 hours. And this is with deposit of cash into their account using both Chase and Bank of America. Sort of lame but you have to plan ahead.

I'm here to help out on the FPGA front.  I am currently watching the Icarus project very closely as it solves a couple of issue I have.  Hopefully I can make some value added suggestions and also help with a bit on layout and production.
