Now is not the best time to invest.
How to protect yourself from fraud? It's quite difficult, but possible.

From my little experience I fill that ICO now is a money pump to founders. And not every idea requires blockchain. But every founder want self island. ICO in the current form is outdated.

I am planning a decentralized charity platform and I can tell also the investor view. When you invest into an ICO you invest into the long term and creation of the project not for a quick profit.

Initial coin offering is favourite game for and I always like to be first one to buy any coin that is going to be new in the market. ICO offers best prices for token purchase and are profitable once they finish the token sell. ICO is still promising due to its quality projects and offerings of smart contracts.

its a case of doing your due diligence, investing only in ICO's that you are willing to hold onto for awhile and get real ROI, or simply be a part of some bounties, and use that as a way to diversify. If you end up with a few thousand coins from a bounty and just hold, you only have to be right 1 out of 5 times to come out really ahead

yes they do profitable if a project is scam or something like that. I am not highly support ICO but I have to say that people always earn good money with ICO. Anyhow, I just want to say that you need to determine which ICO is good and which is made to steal people money so that you will not fall into their trap

A lot of people can use ICOs to wash some money, so if you buy low and sell high you are lucky and made some BTC from it )
So try to invest in ICOs that have a HardCap )

I am a person that gains profit from investing in ICOs but now I'm having second thoughts. I know some ICOs are potential scam so I am really picky to where I put my money.
Anyway, considering with what happened to Ethereum price and with the nearing Aigist 1, do you guys think that it will still be profitable to invest on ICOs mostly on ERC20 tokens and those accepting btc payments?

As there are lots of "promising" ICO's around, even they are all legit and trustworthy, you will end up empty because you can't diversify all your funds in lots of ICO's around.  To cover that hole, you must consider joining a bounty campaigns on regular basis to somehow take advantage too if ever everything will goes good.

About your last question, I can't tell you exactly what to do or what will be my thoughts. I know you are here in crypto world for a long time now and I believe you can make your own decision about that concern of yours just by reading some of the expected things to happen after 1st of August.

no dont invest in any icos, 99% are scams ICOs are honeypots for dumpers. you pay your expensive btc or eth and inturn you get wortless tokens

on exchange launch day like tezos or eos most ico tokens will lose 90% of the value be careful
Well I know that already, like I said, that is why I'm picky on where I invest. I am also one of those say dumpers because I only keep the coin at a max week time to get the profit.  Grin
Some ICO I've been involved with tho are promising and just need time to get it's full value like any other coin.

It's not promising any more. Icos turned into a system where the owners exploit investors. So you better be careful on new ones.

ICO brought a huge demand for ethereum too.

Yes. When companies have a finished, working product, it is worth it. Check out KICKICO for example. They also have an amazing bounty campaign going on right now to get some of their coin for free.
