FOMO will play a vital role here. But last year fully, people got chances to buy cheaper than ICO prices and 2018 must be a year of bear markets hence we will be having different market condition in 2019.

You cannot have only one strategy for all ICOs. Based on one particular ICO, you may go for buying during their ICO phase which may ensure some sue-shot bonus whereas some other ICOs may turn cheaper after getting listed into exchanges. So, have plans according to potential of an ICO.
This sounds like a practical suggestion but most people are preferring to have only one strategy across all types of ICOs and that is the reason they are not finding big success with their ICO experience. I'm not seeing any big reason for that but most probably they must be being lazy to have enough checking with all possible ICOs.
Somehow even they do find the right element of a good ICO it still doesn't give a 100% success because some of the ICOs now that you have seen that has potential will eventually turn out to be a scam. And you know what? If people really want to make a good project that has a potential in the future. They should have made it a long time ago but the greediness of a person makes them destroy everything of what they have been making for a long time.

As far as I remember, nauticus also conducted an ICO and quite successfully. The project began to work, but unfortunately strongly zavav from the cryptocurrency market.

I support investing in ICO

I think it all depends on the project and the bonuses that it offers you. Sometimes it is still better to buy the project’s coins after entering the stock exchange, it’s safer and probably cheaper.

I see a lot of people wondering if they should invest in ICO's. I think the best option for any potential investor is to wait until the ICO ends, THEN invest. For instance, Nauticus was an ICO that started back in March. They recently launched their exchange and have been doing pretty good. Prices are only down 30% from the ICO price. That is a GOOD sign, BUT the prices still fell! This was a high quality project that raised $19,000,000. If they're falling a little bit due to the bear market, then you can expect 99% of the other ICO's currently out there to fall as well. It's all going to be dependent on the market, but in terms of risk I think it's better off if you just wait, THEN invest after the product launches. At the end of the day DYOR! It's imperative that you guys understand that we are in a bear market. Even the best projects like Nauticus, Ethereum, Bitcoin, NEO ect are all falling. I would assume that they won't fall forever tho Tongue

Yes, I agree with you. I also believe that it is better to invest in ICO, when the project is already launched and the coin is listed. Firstly because the probability of getting on the scam project is reduced. Secondly, because the price of the coin is also likely to fall and you can buy it at a lower price.

From our experiences of 2018, it is now becoming clearer that investing in a coin after the ICO as soon as it gets to exchanges is by far, safer and better.

You made your point clear and elaborate. But I think it doesn't apply to all ICOs, especially when you are a private investor. The bear market is really terrible, everyone is waiting for a miracle. Definitely, the greens will come, it's just a matter of time. Most people don't buy into ICOs because they prefer buying at exchange, since the current trend favors this pattern. But a few ICOs still go against this current trend, let's be hopeful.

I stoppe investing in ICOs a long time ago. Even in bounties I try to sell coins immediately because some coins go to 0! Just imagine I had 400$ worth of cashbet and now it is like 3$ ! The same thing for essentia, Shivom and some other ICOs

In any case, this means that you do not need to invest in the project at the time of the ICO, but rather wait for the coins or tokens of the project to appear on the exchange and buy them at a more favorable price.

Investing after the ICO is much safer but also can bring less profits. Some coins launch with a very high price because the excitement and expectations are high and gradually lose this value over time. If you invest after the ICO in one of those coins you will never get your money back or you will have to wait a year for another pump.

There's no best solution that always works.

For now i pick investing AFTER ICO. Why? Because in market we can see how it goes and we can decide to buy in what price. If buy at ICO, it will be good especially when presale, but still must speculate how it will be in market.

Though it is very risky investing in ICO now but we cannot discourage investors from investing in ICI because there are good project out there and if there is nobody to invest in it how do we expect the dev and team to promote the project.

Investing during ICO may turn as a gambling because you are just a betting based on future price level whereas investing after ICO like after getting listed in an exchange, it is like most other investments because you know the actual value of that token.

For me any project or platform will zero user is not worth investing into, I have said over and over again that the best investment one can make in the space now is to invest into exchange platforms because they do have users that are using their tokens to pay for trading fees unlike most of the useless tokens in the space that were just created for ICO sake

Yup having some use case propels a price. At least in the real world. I think Nauticus will stabilize in price as the market improves and they release some nice features.

I completely agree, the exchanges have real uses. Those exchange tokens like BNB or Nauticus (NTS) have utility. Obviously for most of us crypto is a long term investment, but I completely agree that the potential for great rewards with exchange tokens are there.

I prefer to invest after ICO, because it's safer. if we invest in the ICO it runs the risk that will be obtained is quite high but the benefits are more if successful.

I think its better to invest in ICO than invest after the ICO because once you invest during ICO you can have a lot of bonuses and discount once you invest unlike you invest after the ICO you can't even bonuses. But, before you invest kindly choose good and have potential ICO.

2018 was a disaster year for ICO’s, even they have raised a decent amount after hitting in exchanges they plunge very quickly due to bear market, giving a hard time to every crypto project so investing before or after ICO at the present is not a sure call. All we have to do is sharpen our instincts and analyse every market moves to avoid getting rekt.
It's not a disaster if you were a part of the early investors which have participated in some icos on Q1 of 2018. You were a millionaire. Some of icos just like Zil, ONT and some altcoins have already made some new millionaires in the crypto. You should aware about that.

I agree with you . We should invest when the ICO ends. I always monitor the price of the token after they are listed. It is always much lower than preico or ico. Pumapay is a project that mobilizes more than $ 100 million after completing ICO. But looking at its price, you will feel disappointed.
