Dev update - We continue to put final touches on UI for Group Chat. We are also getting things together for our first PodCast. You may join https://t.me/IOCPODCAST and please post your questions in that channel. The questions will be answered in our podcast. This will be our first PodCast with IOC including our lead dev Derek Hatton. This is a historic moment for IOC. We are extremely blessed to have Derek on board and this is an important time in IOC. Although we will try to cover many topics, I would like for the community to come up with good technical questions that you might have. Comparisons to other projects are not good questions because we don't follow the thousands of projects that are out there but you can make reference to what you have read etc and how would we tackle it or not etc. We want to keep the podcast lean and to the point so that developers that are out there can get a sense of what we are working on. Aside from the podcast once GChat is done, we have to move on to cham whitepaper. We have this month deadline to deliver the announcement.

Thank you all and please join https://t.me/IOCPODCAST and leave your questions.

Please don't chat in there just post questions. Thanks

(PS) Unfortunately we have a troll (Chrisumz0r) you can check his history, I guess he is not happy that we continue to work regardless of market conditions that many know are due to Bitcoin movements as IOC is paired to btc.

What makes IOC different between other similar projects?

The difference is that the top 100 wallets control over 75% of the total IOC in circulation.  They're desperately waiting to dump their bags.

not really, but if you find trolling every youtube video or post on ioc helps you try decredit a decentralized open source project with actual working implementations. Not vapor trash copy code erc 20 garbage, sys coin garbage

What makes IOC different between other similar projects?

not many similar projects that have implemented anything. IOC has working aliases , file upload, file transfer, encrypted messaging and stealth address send and recieve working already

IOC Team is aiming late January for the release of the DVM testnet. FYI.

aim wasnt that good though. June now.
still in progress and soon to be on testnet (they say). Lets hope so.
but it needs to be secure and working so can take some more time.

This is I/O Coin 7th year anniversary (7/24/2014).

On this episode the ioc devs discuss the upcoming DVM smart contract layer implementation
which will bring full Ethereum smart contract compatibility along with many other upgrades.

I/O Coin (iOC) was fair launched on July 24th, 2014. IOC is a Privacy based cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem project.
IOC was initially launched via POW X11 (video card resistant) algorithm. The difficult mining period lasted for 2 weeks. This in
order to properly and fairly distribute 16M coins before switching over to our own unique flavor of Proof of Stake Cipher to secure
our blockchain. There are around 19 Million iOC in circulation with a 1.5 IOC staking reward per block. The remaining IOC are
minted via POS reward system for Stakers who work on confirming transactions. Stakers also receive transaction fees from on
chain services. Their is no governance model. We value freedom and the community was built with a free, fair minded and decentralized
spirit. IOC was launched without any Initial Coin Offer (ICO) or Premine.

In 2015 we were the first ones to move away from the Bitcoin QT wallet and replaced it with a unique "fully decentralized"
HTML5/JS based UI wallet. Along with IONS DNS. In 2016 The iOC community and developers formed the I/O Digital foundation
to further awareness of the open source public blockchain as it was done for Bitcoin, Litecoin and a few other fair launched projects.
In 2017 I/O developers upgraded iOC's blockchain protocol to codename DIONS "Decentralized Input Output Name Server" further
enhancing the base platform to host decentralized applications.

iOC Enabled On Chain Services include:

The IOC Blockchain enables identity storage, you can store your own personal identification and be in full control of who can view it and
who you share it with.  Our avatar creation allows storage for art and pictures. Also deeds, copyrights, trademarks, proof of ownership,
data and much more. All of which are fully encrypted, fully controlled by you. Dions Pay, Private and Public identities, Private Dion send
Addresses, AES 256 Encrypted 1MB Document/Data (upload, transfer via private users) capabilities, along with AES 256 Encrypted Instant
Messaging. The I/O dev team also enabled and increased capacity to 4MB blocks with up to 16 second confirmation times. Along with our
very own POS Cipher and shuffle staking features. Ensuring that even low weighted users would always see a reward for their work.

The IOC Dev team is now focused on enabling Smart Contracts to ensure a future launch of "Chameleon - a scalable entropy based molecular
graph ledger, to advanced interoperability of multiple blockchains and deploy our own scalable virtual machine and I/O abstract smart
contract Ecosystem". The team will follow Chameleon with DIOEX. Essentially creating a completely private, secure and fully decentralized
economic ecosystem.

IOC is a fully decentralized world wide cryptocurrency maintained by the I/O Digital Foundation and the iOC World Wide Community.  iOC is
here to give back control to the people.

June 23, 2021 Development Update

After 2 weeks of testing and further inspecting around solidity we have decided to go with our own route to molding our Dvm (Dions Virtual Machine).
We will be using “Dions payload” for first tests of deploying our smart contracts to the iOC Dions testnet.
This will involve us also testing the virtual machine Dvm that processes the code for example;

cycle — create — call functions

As we progress, with the code work we will start to receive test results. And as we get further along the main smart contract language “ide tools” will be added so
that our Dvm will be able to handle solidity compiles within the Dions ecosystem. This approach will provide us with the same user appearance as the smart contracts
in Ethereum but the mechanism under the Dvm hood will be our own unique code work.
As soon as this is accomplished will get to live testnet for wider testing and perfection. We will be releasing an updated whitepaper with all technical enhancement details
once we are through testing all our new added spec features.

We are estimating, if we stay the fulltime course with no delays 3 to 4 weeks to reach live DVM RC1
Please consider donating to our devfund which helps our team in keeping working Full Time…. iOC never had an ICO and the team works purely by donated time in keeping
with fair, core and decentralized Bitcoin fundamentals.

Blockchain!!!
Please join our Telegram channel so we can help you out. Seems there is something off in your install.
I personally have multiple debian servers running the IOC daemon without any problems. Also import is fine.

https://t.me/iocoin_official

Did you check the Debian install FAQ?
https://github.com/mattenglund/IOC-Community-Wiki/wiki
If you follow this step by step it works. You do need some dependencies.

Richard

Bootstrap not working, app tries to connect to multiple ip's with connection failed. Syncing from scratch seems to work but didn't wait to finish.

EDIT: Syncing from scratch also failed and the app does not syncing anymore. Bootstrap sync few blocks, then log multiple "trying connection xx.xx.xx.xx:xxxx lastseen=x hrs" and then app crash. Tested on Debian and Windows. So now there is no way how to use your wallet. Can you help with this?

Yes we can surely help.  (also see: https://github.com/iocoin/dions/releases)

Close the wallet
Open iocoin.conf
Add:

amer.supernode.iocoin.io
emea.supernode.iocoin.io
apac.supernode.iocoin.io

Close iocoin.conf and save.

Restart the wallet.

If you want to use the bootstrap: yes it appears in the logfiles that you are trying to connect to old ip's.
but let it run for a day and you will see the bootstrap is loaded. When loading the bootstrap it also verifys the bootstrap and that can take some time.
In a few hours - on a good PC - the bootstrap will be loaded and up to sync.

Good luck, should be very easy to do.

Richard

It is already in the iocoin.conf file. Problem is that it is not posible to keep app running because app is closed in about 10 minutes after multiple ip connect failures.
The installation procedure was: execute dions-aurora-deb.sh, it installs iocoin-html5-wallet-2.0.0-x86_64.AppImage, open app, closed app, extract bootstrap blk0001.dat and directory txleveldb into the direcotry, open app, wait 10 minutes, crash.
There is no log file you mentioned?

EDIT: I found log file in the txleveldb directory, I deleted it but it did not help.
