I was abroad for a while. Now back home I wanted to claim my IOTA.

I downloaded the new wallet...claim... and then I insert the seed I generated last september ( a huge line of capital letters and some 9)
result: "invalid characters"

was this the right seed / what I did wrong?

Sorry for bothering you with noob questions :-)

Hi, since you haven't touched your iotas since September, I suggest you get in touch with David.
THX, I´ll do as you suggested  Smiley

To me it sounds more like you inserted invalid characters in the "NEW SEED" field.
Remember, only uppercase chars and the number 9 are allowed

another DAG Coin, awesome! is there a Exchange to buy some coins for a test? I would like to compare with the brilliant Byteball project. Is IOTA a german project? If so ... umso besser  Grin

Nein. Das ist kein deutsches Projekt  Grin but also many Germans are there.
and it's not a another DAG Coin  Grin it' the FIRST and sole DAG platform  Grin
Others by the way are not pure DAG but hybrid between blockchain and DAG. If by others DAG algorithm does not work, then is the blockchain used. Wink

IOTA is the only DAG platform with transactions without charge. IOTA is perfectly designed for the M2M industry, internet of everything, but not only for this! Probably at the beginning of March there is more information about it;)

Regarding Exchange: soon will be IOTA on many solid exchanges, until then you can buy iotas in slack:

The information and regulations can be found here:

It is brilliant that's for sure! But it's not just another DAG coin, it's a better hybrid with the "tangle", it was created and launched before "byteball" project.
BUT once again, we are aiming at two different goals, IOTA is still under intensive testing to push it towards its goal of being scalable for all the IoT devices out there + micropayments.

Will anybody who wants to withdraw from exchanges have to do pow on their local device? If you are a notebook user you would be screwed especially when done in browser?

Use the Android wallet. Search for it on Google Play

Where i can find Neighboring Nodes ?
Can someone post it here ?
Don't tell me about slack, i don't understand what is it )

also do not understand about this slack..so request to knowledgable person related to it is being made .

The same for you both, if you are not able to set up a full node, no problem, use the light wallet. Check here: http://iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml

You don't need to have the full node and accordingly you don't need to search any neighbors. Just install the v2.1.1 and choose the light wallet from the github:

https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases/tag/v2.1.1

Alternatively you can use the Android wallet:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.iota.wallet

And, for the light wallet servers available: http://iotasupport.com/lightwallet.shtml

I make the transaction local with my notebook within 5 minutes. Very fast and very easy. No problem at all.

BTW with the recent version the transaction are much faster confirmed and this isn't the last improvement that our devs make.

Your notebook is probably very old (~1995)?
