Imo no scamming took place: sending btc to a random, unnown, drunk on the internet is just stupid.
Sending btc to a random, unnown drunk on the internet and being warned multiple times is just retarded.

If you leave your purse on the street it's not stealing if someone takes it?

I'm all for freezing or outright distributing  CH's and CK's Iota to the buyers before the network starts.  Even though people should have been using escrow, there is a chance to make this right before launch so a whole boatload of people don't get hurt.

there is a case to be made for that, since it has not officially launched.

Doing as ETH is doing is committing fraud and they won't survive it because their credibility will be zero if they do that, but in the case of IOTA, the potential scam victims could be lucky, because the tokens do not officially exist yet and have not been delivered yet.

Once out if the gates though, all bets are off.

It is kind of on topic because this centralised action could effect the Iota price.

Imo in crypto we are trying to create transparancy, taking back control, for instance by not paying too much for electricity, monitoring and securing your own data etc.

Decentralisation is a big part of Iota as well, for security and transparancy reasons. If not why not just centralise?
Absolute power by an individual is not the way to go imo.

But you made your descision, and since Iota will be decentralised after launch and data can't be altered anymore without consensus, this will be my last remark on the matter.

@CFB I highly recommend getting CK's seed if possible. I HOPE he's not a scammer but I feel he is.

How can I get his seed?

Since you brought this up and you are freezing Child_Harolds account, how did you get his seed? And how do you know it's his?

OK, this is nice, but what about NXT AE IOTA issuers?  It could be a potential scams.

I don't recall any Nxt AE issuers being a problem. The problem is with two sellers, Child Harold and Crypto Knight.

Until iota is sent from the sellers, all sellers are potential scammers. Singling these two out is unfair.

All buyers should be cautioned about the risks of buying but accusations should be reserved until proof or certainty is attained.

Its perfectly fair. It is nothing personal and everything about their actions and communications.

cryptoknight posted recently and insisted on honouring his deals- he also said he is embarrassed by being termed a scammer.

prly getting in touch with him via PM is best for buyers, and be careful with accusations....  for what it's worth

Did he post why he didn't want to reveal his seed? If no, it's worth asking.

Why would you freeze the account in the first place, just let it between the police and the ftards that send their bitcoin to a random dude on the interweb.

I don't know laws of your country of residence, but in my country I have the right to stop a crime if I have reasons to think a crime is happening. Even more, I get extra protection from the law in this case. So I took an active position in this very case by providing technical assistance to the company which sold iotas.

i appreciate your decision! of course, i am one of the "stupid" people which bought something, where no one really knows what it will become. for me it is a border-less, decentralized and "trust-less" system that helps the world to get better... that's what i believe and this is the reason why i am interested in such a project, and of course for some profit. the latter might get me a bit blind .. but i prefer to lose some money to help some new idea to grow, than to invest in some big centralized companies or banks.

i thought about legal actions by law against ch, but who knows where he is from and if the case is not big enough, the international law wouldn't awake for this. so, the only possibility is to help each other, to prevent such scams and to do something against it and so to build a new ecosystem.

my english is not the best, but i hope you got the message Smiley

I think given his behavior that CryptoKnight is probably doing drugs. It explains his insistence on not using Escrow, so that he can dump the BTC right away for cash to get his fixes. This type of behavior is commonly seen with addicts, and I've seen this behavior multiple times before in the Bitcointalk forum where later it was revealed that the reason was drugs.

I hope I am wrong, because its really sad if true, but its pretty common in the crypto bitcointalk world.

How many IOTAs do you have ? Because you already sold more than 12 Ti and that's a lot of IOTAs.

And how many times did he said it was his last batch...  Lips sealed

Yeah i forgot about that. And he don't even reply to people that keep accused him of being a scammer he prefer to lower his price. To many red flags...

once again! cryptoknight refused to use escrow and somebody else also posted that cryptoknight refuses to use escrow.

NEVER buy without escrow, unless you are damn sure that it is legit.

He is also the ONLY one here lowering his prices, while there are more and more releases.
