What was the price of 1 IOTA in the ico stage?  Btw, what is with giota, I mean only 1 billion iota was sold....

In the crowdsale we used a very easy to comprehend number to make buying as easy as possible for users. I.E. 1 billion, but this was just a 'placeholder' number. Then as we started development we naturally evolved it to be optimized for programmers and efficiency of the network, this gave rise to the new number: 2779530283277761 aka: 2.77 Peta-iotas (Pi), but everyone still got their exact same proportionate percentages, so it's not inflation, just change of numbers terminology.

We use the scientific SI system which is universally used across the globe, thus making it way easier to comprehend for developers and users than some made up terms like 'Wei, 'Shannon' 'Satoshis' etc.  You are probably already familiar with from storage with Kilobyte, Megabyte, Gigabyte, Terabyte, Petabyte and so on. In IOTA we got:

iotas (i) = any number from 1 to 999.
Kilo-iota (Ki) = 1 000 = 10^3
Mega-iota (Mi) = 1 000 000 = 10^6
Giga-iota (Gi) = 1 000 000 000 = 10^9
Tera-iota (Ti) = 1 000 000 000 000 = 10^12
Peta-iota (Pi) = 1 000 000 000 000 000 = 10^15.

Just noticed that in the client I can choose if I want to send i, Ki, Mi, Gi or Ti.
Nice and convenient!

It will easily be in the Top 10. Look at Lisk!, It will pale in comparison to Iota.

Do the math!!!

@CFB I highly recommend getting CK's seed if possible. I HOPE he's not a scammer but I feel he is.

How can I get his seed?

BTW this thread is turning into something completely different than the intended topic. I think you guys should create a separate thread if you want to talk about CH.

the price of the ICO doesnt matter anymore. We are in a different planet now.
It does matter - this is a speculation thread. Anyone wishing to speculate would be wise to find out where it started.

I have decided that we will freeze CH's account for a month, if he comes back in the meantime and clears everything up and makes good on his promises that's fine, if not we will complete the trades on his behalf.

Whether his abscence is because he's a scammer or something occured in his life is quite irrelevant, what we do know is that he took the effort to delete all his accounts, meaning he did not just fall into a coma or was forcibly admitted to a mental asylum, it was a deliberative and conscious decision on his part, while he was 100% aware of the fact that he had a lot of pending trades. CH was always a troll and instigator of drama, I am whole-heartedly convinced that he does not care at all about IOTA, he cares soley about his own potential for profit and executed what seems to be a scam on the naive and inexperienced in order to achieve the biggest amount of profit he could get, then he decided to vanish.

I never thought I would say this, but I encourage everyone to just go back on the topic of speculation that this thread is for. CH was an asshole, some people were dumb to trust him, we have decided to 'fix it' and not devote more time to this issue.

In my country a judge discides if a crime has been committed.

How does the police decide if they should put handcuffs on someone in the first place? I bet a judge is not involved.

We have the trias politica. Police enforce laws made by the government. They don't descide if an actual crime was committed because everybody is innocent until proven guilty, this is where the judge come in to play to descide if the alledged crime is in fact a crime. This is to prevent an absolute authoroty.

Why would you freeze the account in the first place, just let it between the police and the ftards that send their bitcoin to a random dude on the interweb.

I don't know laws of your country of residence, but in my country I have the right to stop a crime if I have reasons to think a crime is happening. Even more, I get extra protection from the law in this case. So I took an active position in this very case by providing technical assistance to the company which sold iotas.

You guys have made up your mind, which is your perogative since it is your project. I wanted to express my concerns and opinion on the matter and possible problems that could emerge out of this action.

It's not our role to be the police. It's quite extraordinary how people repeatedly manage to turn our altruism into some "THIS IS SOMETHING YOU OWE US" again and again, and it's really becoming annoying.

You bought without escrow? Your fault. Not ours, we told you explicitly not to do so 100 times, which was echoed ad nauseam by the rest of the community.

We don't have time to hunt down and freeze every single account that may have been involved in something shady, nor will we. It's not just as easy as "he said, she said" and then we can freeze the account. There might be legitimate reasons for why someone is AFK for a few weeks or months. Child_Harold is a unique case in that he was a known troll and liar, the fact that anyone even considered buying from him without escrow hurts my brain, but it seems he was a big seller, so easy to resolve. If you know of any other big scammer that scammed 10+ people, sure we might find time to look into it, but that is not our job. We got 100 tasks to be done before the imminent launch and babysitting people is not high on that priority list.

Why you have changed your opinion?

I haven't changed my opinion, this was in response to a comment that made it seem like this was something we OWED people, so I just cleared that up.
